I can confirm that the translation is correct. It does say "all lands".

Edit: I live in Japan and can read fluently. There's not a lot of room for ambiguity with this card.

Name is somethings along the lines of uncontrollable youth or young. Unrestrained Young?
    Unrestrained Neonates?

Maybe! The word they used here is different from how they translated "neonate" before though. But it sounds good to me.

I am not sure why people are passing so much on Homing Sliver. That is the "extra copies" of things you are trying to cram in such as the discussion of adding a gemhide to make 5 mana guys. He is your 5th copy. After board Homing gets even better due to having the correct answer when you need it. With regards to card advantage think about this... do you want to hope to draw what you need or go tutor for it?
As so the firewake vs blur it is no contest. Firewake hands down. Yes it is 2 colors but there isn't a land in the deck except the 1 of blood crypt that doesn't produce green. It also has a relavent ability to push extra damage through.

I pass on homing sliver because it seems incredibly slow. First you have to land a 3 mana sliver that doesn't directly do anything for the others. Yeah, it gets whatever you need after that, but the cost seems pretty steep. That said, I've been considering making room for one in the sideboard to help bring out the others that come in in slower matches. I was thinking a homing sliver and a lead the stampede are worth a try instead of Domri.

As for the haste slivers, I find that despite first appearances, the bigger body on blur sliver gets through enough damage more consistently, and at no extra cost. Suppose firewake could be better in some configurations. I feel like this is something that's going to be continually revisited.

Why is everyone running blur sliver instead of firewake sliver? Is the 2/2 body proven better than the added flexibility? Or is it just because of the Bowman list? Planning to revisit my sliver list for the first time post-M15, and I think I'm going to try firewakes.

It's body is larger, it's easy to cast (can be cast off 2 Mutavault and 1 Sliver Hive, and the ability on Firewake Sliver is rarely relevant. All of the Slivers are very important and with the amount that they swing for, it rarely would be more damage using Firewake Sliver's ability. I even find it tough deciding which Sliver to get rid of through Necrotic Sliver. I feel it's one of the tougher decisions in the deck.

BTW, I love your screen name. I have been enjoying Glass Cannon decks much more than usual in my 21 years of playing...

So, I'm way late replying to this. Went on vacation. But, it looks like it's relevant to the discussion again. It became clear pretty quickly in testing that blur sliver is the better option. It's just a lot more consistent and reliable, even if blowing up my team to swing in huge seems like fun in my brain world.

Also did some testing with Domri Rade. I feel like he has potential as a sideboard card, because he can generate hefty card advantage. But, probably not now. He's harder to cast here than abrupt decay. At some point when Sedge sliver isn't putting so much strain on the mana base, he might be good.

That said, I really don't like what sedge sliver does to the lands. A fully active sedge sliver is a beast, but non-sliver spells would be a lot more flexible if he could be cut back. I don't think it will happen, but I hope we visit a world with slivers relatively soon. The deck feels just a couple of tools short of really amazing.

Oh, and I like your screen name too, FoodChainGoblins. Smile

    My mistake.

I still think Squelch is worthy sideboard material.

No you're right, Modular isn't, I meant Ravager's sac to put counters on itself. I got that mixed up because I never see other Modular cards. You can wait until they try to have Ravager sac itself and Squelch it. Ravager dies as the cost of the ability, no counters move.

As far as Trickbind being worth the card spent, that seems awfully match-up specific.

Trickbind can counter ETB effects. I did forget it could also counter triggered abilities, but that still puts you down a card. Modular is an activated ability, so you can counter it with Squelch.

Squelch vs. Shadow of Doubt seems like a meta call. They hit pretty much the same things in Pod, but Shadow can counter Chord of Calling, and Squelch can stall Kiki combos. I think Squelch would mess up Affinity's day more than Shadow.

I don't think you're crazy, I think it's a very overlooked card, though I've only used it in the sideboard.

I'd argue that unless you need split second, Squelch is better than Trickbind. Most of the things you'd use it on can't be activated more than once a turn anyway, and it's the kind of effect where you really want it to replace itself in your hand. It's too easy to go down a card with Trickbind.

I do think it's better suited to the sideboard, since it has plenty of dead match ups.

    Quote from Duke Daemon »
This set wasn't as underwhelming as Theros was but it's no heart racer like Innistrad or Scars. The mechanics are just too simple. Scars had Infect, Proliferate, Metal Craft and Imprint. Ins had transform, morbid, flashback and made curses. Khans basically has Outlast (worse version of Chronomaton), Prowess (less broken version of Blistercoil Weird), Ferocious (Easier to fulfill version of Naya's 5 or greater clause) and Delve (which should have been golgari's mechanic in RtR). I'm not playing standard till the set return to the old power level and stop over simplifying cards. The consumers aren't as simple minded as wizards thinks they are.

Have you played with the set at all? The individual mechanics might be simple on their own, but they all interact well with the big one that you left out: morph. There's plenty of hidden information, bluffing, and complex decision making in Khans. I see no evidence of Wizards thinking their players are simple minded. In fact, it seems the opposite, that they feel the players can develop complex strategies with well-balanced parts.

What does power level have to do with playing standard? It only matters relative to the other sets that are in standard with it, and right now that isn't very high. The set seems like a success in terms of power level since it doesn't overshadow Theros, but a good number of cards still scale well in other formats where power level does matter.

And no, delve shouldn't have gone to Golgari. They tested it with Golgari, and in Innistrad. They put it here because it fit well, and it is awesome.

    1. They were the first cards in the set. They were in the set before the set was even an idea.

    2. I keep hearing people complain about the art on them, but I think it's fine to good. Not the most jaw-dropping, but not bad.

    3. Why don't people complain about the art on Zendikar fetchlands? It's not bad, but none of it is particularly interesting or memorable. I think these are actually better.

I was being sarcastic. It seems like a lot of people whined about Theros not having much impact on a lot of formats. Now there are a lot of people whining about Khans doing too much to non-rotating formats. I like Khans a lot. I like the Delve spells. I like Jeskai Ascendancy, even though as much as I don't like it, Glittering Wish may get the hammer if people don't figure out good ways to combat the deck. I picked up a set of Wish before it took off in price as soon as I heard murmurs of the two cards working together favorably. It wouldn't be a huge loss to me, but I do like the card right down to the flavor text. I had been meaning to pick up a set of Wishes for quite a while, as it was clearly a sleeper.

I do think people are overreacting. The deck may end up needing a ban, but until then they should work their best to combat it. The sky isn't falling. Powerful, potentially warping decks are bound to show up from time to time, but this format is well policed.

Are pro players always alarmist chattering monkeys? Might as well be Fox News: Magic (Mox News?).

    1. Dig Through Time isn't flat out better than Treasure Cruise, they're both powerful, and it's nice to have some decent draw power in blue, and people already keep graveyard hate in sideboards. There are so many ways to turn off the delve cards.

    2. This whole Jeskai Ascendency uproar was amusing at first but has gotten annoying. As people adjust to it and learn how to combat it, it will become clear if it needs a ban or not. If the deck gets a ban, it will almost certainly be Glittering Wish. "But that's such a unique card!", you say, and I agree. I like it too. But it hasn't done anything before this, and won't do anything again, except add resiliency and inevitability to the next multicolor combo engine. Also, if a card needs banning, Wizards will take care of it. In the mean time, best just learn to deal with the deck.

    3. Yeah, there's probably no good reason not to unban Ancestral Vision.

Theros: "What the hell!? No playable cards in Eternal formats! You suck Wizards!!"
Khans: "What the hell!? Too many cards playable in Eternal formats! Why can't you just give us what we want!?"
