Try to predict the advantage of this card:

Turn 1: two 0 costed spells (no "mana" advantage)
Turn 2: two 1 costed spells (total 2 mana).
Turn 3: two 2 costed spells (total 6=2+4 mana)
Turn 4: two 3 costed spells (total 12=2+4+6 mana)

There is also the sinergy with other cards (no mana cost?) and with instants, and it is blue of course.

Hope this time reprints or alternatives to the expensive staples in legacy which are used in commander, like snow-real-duals, generic fetch lands and so on.

The fetchlands with dual lands are the optimal mana base in Magic.
And for setting a single untaped dual land it costs 3 life. And for a basic land: 1 life: very acceptable.

And the fetchlands price is raising every month because there is no printing for them and with the raising of prices of other staples in modern and other formats, it is becoming impossible to new players start to play modern and other formats.

We need a regular core set for all cards that are huge demand and no printing and the end of the reserved list (but vintage).

There are some visible questions that are not good to this set.

First, few mana fixation for a (pseudo)multicolored set.
Second, almost all cards are shaded versions of the cards in the previous set. They do a very similar thing, but are less powered.
Very low power level to commons, unless to some very few cases.
Many rares are too mana expensive, difficulting addition in current decks.
Litte connection with the current decks (by above factors). It is hard to find a card that is usefull to some deck. No secondary theme (factions, tribal, alternative deck strategy, etc...)
Few good spells to make heroic work (the same is true for other abilities), very bad cantrips. Blue is crippled.
Maybe the only new deck is mill, but is too fragile relying on a specific card.
    Gods seem to be underpowered.
No new creations, they are always repeating alternative versions for the same cards that we have seen (shading). It is good to people that are starting at the game, and that's all.

There are standard decks that play it as a 4 of... 3 mana to go up a card is perfectly reasonable in almost every standard.

Of course it plays, it is the only blue draw in standard for drop 1, 2 or 3. They banned all good blue draws in modern and forgot that there is no combo deck in standard (for regreting printing new draws), LOL.

This card represents blue very well, so it is appropriated to fill a slot even if it is duplicated with M14.

Personally, I don't like this card, because you spend one card (itself) and three mana just to recover the spent card and get a new card. Very little advantage at CMC 3. At CMC 2 it is too good. A design question.

It has potential, for simple: each turn: two damage, discard and 1 mill.
    Springleaf Drum can help.

The way things are going, Boon Satyr will be the only playable bestow card, LOL. They are releasing only shaded versions of the same slots for all decks = low creativity and almost cards are intended to not play. And heroic still needs good and cheap mana spells. The impact of this expansion in standard would be minimal.

Good old mythic that's probably bad in all constructed formats, yet is horribly overpowered in limited.

In limited is unfair. You just need to keep gaining some tempo to kill the oponent in some turns. Any wall with it is win condition in limited.

About Whelming Wave , go go Leviathan deck! LOL.

But Whelming Wave is good, it is similar in power level to evacuation. But I prefer evacuation because you can cast it in the end of the opponent's turn and start a new turn with a fresh new battlefield keeping counters in the hand.

And the WW card is shaded by all other WW cards and it is hard to splash. They should have created another faction or subtheme for alternative use for cards in Theros, for instance tribal, or creating some good spells to make heroic work.

think chromanticore dont see standard play :/ bad mythic

First, the only way to cast it is with chromatic lantern, if you depend on lands, you lose. So you have to use a slow artifact and if it does not come, you have a useless card in your hand.

You spend all mana and it is removed easely. With bestow you need 7 mana, too high for being competitive.

Only in some commander decks it would see some play and it is not legendary.

This expansion will be good for dealers, because you have to buy so many boosters to reach some valuable or usefull rare. Or you can buy a entire box and see just a few valuable rares. There is a huge demand for reprints in all formats but, they only release cards for possible use in commander with no iteration with other standard cards. The uncommons that are good this time.

Three good cards. The mythic (and legendary) Brimaz can help White Winnies to be more competitive, it certainly will find its place in my WW.

I'm waiting for the final spoiler, but given how subpar karmetra is for Standard, I'm inclined to agree. I was really hoping the color combination I guessed would be good from last season and put my money on (4 voice of resurgence) would be better, but alas.

I think Wizards must have been afraid that GW aggro with voice, fleecemane lion, advent of the warm, experiment one, soldier of the pantheon, and loxodon smiter was too solid and any extra push in BNG would put it over the top, which is why they made Karmetra a big stuff ramp God. But of course they predicted incorrectly (as usual) and mono blue and mono black are the tops dogs.

At least we get the GW temples...

We can see that in Ravnica, the amount of cards that are meant to play are far bigger than in sets like Theros. Since there are guilds, there are cards for building decks in any color combination and there are other types of factions to build a deck.

In Theros some archtypes are predefined and almost all cards in the set become shaded versions of the playable cards meaning that almost cards are meant to not play, in opposite of Ravnica.

I hope they release good lowered cost cards to build decks. For now, almost all rare and mythic slots are too overcosted and only applicable to commander. There is a need for distributing power level among all color combinations, deck archtypes, strategies and factions. With this, they can create new staples for all decks.

Those cards are like "pack rat removal" and "god removal".

And 90% of the rares and mythics seen until now are not for standard, they don't iterage with any deck, only with commander. The second expansion in a set (except by ravnica sets) is always the set with worst cards and some few expensive staples.

This card is very good for sideboard.
I don't like Pyroclasm, because it is CMC 2 = too fast. But with the power level of creatures raising, just few creatures have toughness 2 (but burn decks and other fast aggro decks).
This one is fairer and remove creatures that regenerate, protections and other protective abilities

Great for minotaurs. hum, what minotaurs? Reckoner is the only playable.
You can cast the second Ragemonger for {1} on the turn four, but it is just a 2/3.
Realy bad and it is cmc 3: too late to accelerate something with no other support.
