Hey fellas! First deck build for Modern, search feature didnt turn up anything so I decided to make a post I havent had a chance to playtest due to not actually having the cards,(Hence why this isnt really a primer) but I thought it was interesting and wanted to get some early opinions.
Then started thinking about turning it into a reanimator deck due to Goryo's Vengeance being able to hit Borborygmos Enraged, The gitrog monster, and even Emrakul, The Aeons torn.Which also allows for infinite damage due to shuffling back our graveyard into our library if we discard it. Alternate is without a solid mana base due to a Blood Moon, Our next play is probably to just Through the breach something huge and hope our opponent wont have an answer.
Shapesharer can make other shapeshifters into other things (I find this awesome) And I know that if you Giant Growth it then convert it into a grizzly bear. It will end up being a 5/5.
I also know that if Shapesharer copies a creature without changeling and/or it's own ability, it will lose both/one of those abilities.
Does the shapeshifter however lose abilities also granted by a spell or ability, after it is made to copy something else? Lets say if I chose to give it Colossal Might instead. Now it gets +4/+2 and trample, Then I chose to magically turn him/her/it into an Avacyn. With trample being a keyword ability, is it lost after the transformation?
Part two of this question.
What if I used Jodah's Avenger as my base shapeshifter. If for some reason I didn't understand how I could stack them, and I made Jodah into a 2/2 with shadow and doublestrike, then made it into Any other card. Would it keep those abilities?
That shouldnt be common in birthing pod decks because birthing pods effect can only happen at sorcery speed.
However you can block then sacrifice the blocked creature to any other effect.
I think in block and sacrificing your creature deals no combat damage though.
He argues that since the effect ends at end of turn, I die anyway due to the infinite Sharuum, the hegemon combo.
I argue that he cannot continue to copy and kill his Sharuum, the hegemon as he has to choose another target before he can go to another phase. I think I'm correct because I dont see how he can proceed through combat and 2nd main without breaking the chain of ETB effects.
So me and a mate were brewing a deck revolving around The Gitrog Monster, Seismic assault and Dakmor Salvage.Pitching the Dakmor Salvage to Seismic Assault or Borborygmos Enraged, then trigger drawing a card off The Gitrog Monster, and triggering dredge to return the land back to hand.

I control Karmic Justice and lets say Delusions of grandeur. Both on my side of the field.
I want to destroy Delusions but also want to hit a permanent controlled by my opponent.
Can I cast the thrull, trigger on stack killing the delusions, then quicken and donate it to another player.
Would this count as an ability they control destroying one of my permanents and thus allow me to destroy something of theirs?
1.
His side of the field
Sharuum, the hegemon, Phyrexian Metamorph, Disciple of the vault and venser, the sojourner
My side of the field
Sneak Attack, Zealous Conscripts in hand.
Steps Main phase:
Cast Disciple of the vault
Attempt to use Venser to exile and bounce the Phyrexian Metamorph
I sneak in Zealous Conscripts and steal the Disciple of the vault

2. Absolver thrull cast by me targeting an enchantment I control. Target on stack, Donate and Quicken to gift it to someone. Does this trigger karmic Justice?
