Hey guys, just decided to start playing some legacy with my friends, please let me know how you think this deck will play against other legacy decks (I'm about a year and a half into magic, so I really don't know what the past produced or the known tricks that are brought into legacy). The point of this deck is to get as many artifacts onto the field, load them onto someone and then swing away. With the artifact lands my Etched Champion becomes protected, and then cranial plating becomes the ultimate weapon in my deck.
Hey guys, looking to build a deck for fnm tonight, what would be the best possible populate deck for the rtr block? I have trostani and armada warm set, lots of populating odds and ends, just please let me know what to buy so I know how to play tonight. Thanks! (Stay green / white plz, my favs)
Okay guys, I looked around for some other cards that people were putting in these types of decks and here is what I'm THINKING (correct me if I'm just making it worse).
Too much Trostani, too. She's a legend, so you don't want to be holding more than one at any point in the game.
Giant Growth seems to be a waste since your creatures are already big. Not really worth using it if all you can do with it is pump for defense. Cloudshift should be enough for that purpose.
Borderland Ranger isn't ramp although he does ensure a land drop. Wouldn't use him though.
Farseek can't get you Forests, so you can only look for Temple Gardens, that's a little restrictive.
And while we're on the subject of lands you should really play more lands.
Thanks! Can you give me a better idea of what you would like me to replace / for how many? I wanna keep it to 60, so if you have some numbers I can do / what you want me to put in that would help!!! I'm writing down everything you said.
Hey guys! My name is Kelsey (klmtg), and I'm "somewhat new" to MTG! I have been playing with my boyfriend for about 5 months (using his decks), trying to learn the rules and observe the most abused mechanics / combinations. This is my first attempt at putting together a winning deck and I would like some honest feedback on it before I fork over the money (it's pretty expensive, thankfully he is letting me use his play set of Armada Wurm , Trostani, Selesnya's Voice , and a few other singles of this deck that he has about.
Now, Obviously I'm placing the Avacyn's Pilgrim , Somberwald Sage , and Borderland Ranger cards into the deck as a means of speeding up mana production. The Ranger forces me to search for a basic land (and even then, I'm stuck putting it into my hand), but it's still something plus a creature on the field, so that is why I thought it might be viable.
Loxodon Smiter Is simply a nice way of getting a strong creature out when I need one if I'm getting hit while I'm trying to produce my mana.
Thragtusk & ARMADA WURM are simply in this deck to be STRONG creatures that throw their weight around, and hopefully they'll only come into play after one of my Trostani, Selesnya's Voice cards are in play to give my large creatures more validity in the deck (gain ten life with the wurm plus two 5/5s? Uh....thank you).
The Cloudshift is here to bounce my wurm or my thraggie (I call him thraggie) into the exile zone (ohhhhh scary) and then bring them back to bank off of their entering the battlefield again (I see this A LOT).
Farseek is here to speed up mana.....I'm sure everyone knows that if I know that >.< lol
Sheltering Word , Giant Growth , & Natural End are simply being used at utility cards to help me in the event of some trouble (like maybe someone puts an O-ring on one of my creatures).
This is the deck I'm looking to make in the next two or so weeks
Please let me know what you think!
(I recently found out that a lot of cards become nonstandard in like October, so I am upset that i'll get limited use out of this deck).
Thanks!!! Not sure what that means! (lol I'm going to look it up now, but yeah).
4 Great Furnace
4 Seat of the Synod
4 Tree of Tales
4 Vault of Whispers
4 Memnite
4 Etched Champion
4 Etched Monstrosity
2 Darksteel Juggernaut
2 hellkite Tyrant
4 Golem-Skin gauntlets
2 Lightning Greaves
4 Cranial Plating
2 Executioner's Hood
4 Loxodon Warhammer
OH, and the Hellkite Tyrant is there simply because I wanna see someone win with his artifact effect once lol.
Rebuke (2)
Verdant Haven (4)
Plains (2)
Ajani, Caller of the Pride (20
Garruk, Primal Hunter (2)
MAYBE Restoration Angel (2) ..... I say maybe to this awesome card simply because of her price >.<
The plains walkers seem to be a combo in each deck I see that resembles mine of tappedout.com.
No more Somberwald Sage, Borderland Ranger, sheltering word, giant growth, or natural end!
Thanks! Can you give me a better idea of what you would like me to replace / for how many? I wanna keep it to 60, so if you have some numbers I can do / what you want me to put in that would help!!! I'm writing down everything you said.
