I've been building up my selesnya tokens deck since RTR and have tried to make it competitive. It's been going well, hates on aggro and has never lost a game to another G/W deck but junk rites gives me hell right now I just can't consistently deal with it. Also, Boris reckoner gives everyone a bad day...
Recently I've been reconsidering adding black for a few cards only - sin collector, putrefy and lingering souls. My question is what else do I need? Open to any and all suggestions on the best cards to splash black for..

I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE the new slivers... The ones I've seen so far (and I expect the rest to follow suit) are effectively reprints of golden oldies for one... And secondly, making the bonus only affect your own slivers MAY possibly make some flavour sense if anyone cares about that but mostly, slivers just got broke. Only giving abilities to you kills exactly half the point of old school slivers. No longer will two opponents playing slivers be even remotely as interesting.. and hivestone no longer saves us... I just feel like this is a baaaad idea by RnD.
Cards like this make me believe that Cipher was nerfed in development from an attack trigger to a damage trigger. As an attack trigger, this would be decent in merfolk. Actually, Hands of Binding, Hidden Strings, and some other cipher cards would be much more playable as attack triggers. But I guess development wanted to make them harder to activate, so turned them into damage triggers.... while also not fixing the fact that most of the effects work better before blocks.
Oh well, Dimir was screwed up from the start.
Thats why Cipher is terrible. Unless you have stolen identity encoded on Blightsteel Collossus or something equally nuts theyre all just so... meh :/
While no one crowd will likely be super excited by the champions I don't think it's fair or possible to say that any one crowd was completely left out either.
Hey, just put together a new commander deck with rafiq as the General.. basically he hits for loads of commander damage with evasion abilities. Shield of the oversoul, steel of the godhead and favor of the overbeing are staple. What else would anyone recommend to me to help connect my general. Thought of rancor and that new dgm selesnya trample enchantment anyways.. suggestions anyone?
i'm glad they fixed that mistake. people are sobbing about emmara being underwhelming and unjustified from a flavor perspective, but the mechanics of having the legend rule benefit you with tokens would be an even greater violation of flavor (in regards to emmara formerly belonging on voice of resurgence). the end result is the lesser of two evils, necessitated most likely by time constraints.
While I see your point, I must stress that emmara is now the worst champ of the set... If voice of resurgence had been printed as it originally was people would have been "meh, ****ty rare, let's get on with our lives"
As is now the case a champion has been so badly nerfed that she's almost unplayable in her own guild let alone any other deck. I see such a hyped up long awaited card wasted like this and I get so sad... Could still have been much more. Look at teysa and Ruric for 7 mana and see what she should have been like in regards to power.
What's that generic blue player? I didn't block your aetherling.. so you pump him to an 8/1... Oh, it took all your mana? So you won't mind my electrickery then.
Now that I think about it, Voice of Resurgence might have originally been Emmara like another poster said, and that this change late in development. This might explain why the */* creature token is in her background. Maybe they thought it was too powerful for rare, or they didn't like how playing 2 Emmaras would get you the two tokens since they kill each other.
He has been considered. But I don't feel like he would be terribly effective. Also I don't own any planeswalkers :/
