BB trades immediate board impact for gradual dominance. It takes 3 turns (and 3 life) to produce as much as a spectral procession. In the early game, that's great, but in the mid to late game, that's not good. Couple that with the loss of life, while keeping in mind we also play shocklands, fetch lands, and thoughtseize, and BB can do as much to kill ourselves as our opponents. That's why it's not a core card.
It has been played successfully. I think (he can correct me if I'm wrong) Jango555 plays a BB list.
Yes, the BB list is my main list and it is pretty consistent, but I do maindeck Auriok champion and Sorin...Sorin gets a ton better with 4 intangible virtues and I mostly dont notice the lifeloss too often unless I am playing a super aggressive deck (zoo) and I draw a BB late game...(I typically have to just keep it in my hand then) I ma trying out Wescoes list now just to compare though
Pyroblast can target a non-blue spell in order to increase storm count, Red Elemental Blast cannot. It is a corner case, but it does come up occasionally.

Sorcery
Search your library for up to two basic forests and reveal them, then put one onto the battlefield tapped and put the rest into your hand. Then shuffle your library
Spell Mastery - if there are two or more instant and or/sorcery cards in your graveyard, you may search for up to 3 basic forests instead.
I would rather have fliers
Good to know about, may see some play. Best I can see it doing is about 4 tokens for 4W Instant speed which is still pretty good!
I also haven't had any speed issues with the deck, it is pretty competitive and really takes people by surprise when they do not know what is going on.
also the new primer looks FANTASTIC! thanks ktkenshinx for all your hard work!

Just because you are salty over losing does not mean the deck is bad, I have gotten top 16 in two PTQ's last year, and went 7-3 at GP Richmond (losing my win-and-in to day 2) running a list with Bitterblossom. It also just this weekend had 3 copies in the top tables of the Pro Tour with the pilots finishing 19th (7-3 in modern), 36th (7-3 in modern), and 43rd (5-5 in modern). Tokens relies on the sideboard to shore up the harder matchups, but it has a lot of game against most of the field. It is absolutely a deck which rewards good competent pilots, and that requires putting in the reps with the deck.
Please refrain from saying "this deck is bad" without any constructive discussion in a thread where we are trying to improve the deck.
He ended up finishing in 43rd place with a record of 10-5-1 (draft included) with an even record of 5-5 with tokens.
Still pretty fantastic for him though! and it was great to see a pro picking up BW tokens again!
I will have some time to help now however. I don't mind making the brackets and keeping up with them, but I will not have time to check decklists every month
He said on his deck tech it was a "free" bolt when you used it on Swiftspear making her a 4/5...seems like pretty good tech to me.
