To be honest I've played the deck a bit before the Cruise/Dig era and haven't touched it since. Here is the list, it's a little outdated though. I played a few matches against UB reanimator and easily crushed them with a turn 1 leyline of the void every game. And some games versus maverick who had a hard time removing multiple thopters, unfortunately my mana is extremely greedy and I haven't played against price of progress decks.
Hello! Long time Shardless fan but first time speaker. Has anyone tried slotting the Thopter/Sword combo in the deck. Dropping the goyfs and moving an AV to the board to make room. Or does that just leave us a lot more susceptible to fast decks? I've played a few games with it at FNM and just the sheer number of thopters overwhelm most decks.
(It also could be a more budget friendly option, though I know this isn't the budget forum)
Hi guys, dredge fan, looking to make it for me first modern deck. First time caller, I was wondering how well is Despoiler of Souls is with Prized Amalgam (the BB 3/1 that can't block. And for BB, exile two creatures from your grave bring him to the battlefield.) I've seen he's been discussed pre-amalgam but how does he seems now, seeing as he triggers the zombie. I see the price is steep but I think that could be compensated by playing a few more narcomebas/dredgers/unearth-ers. I also think it could potentially help the deck drop lower to the ground. The red turn one (for looting/vampire) and potentially double black turn two would make for an adjusted mana base but I think it could be done. I don't know where the place would be made, because of the new zombie/spirit tag team wombo-combo but I think despoiler of souls deserve another look.
What's everyone's opinion on Become-Rage combo in the deck and tokens versus a few beaters? I'm thinking of building the deck but more like Temur Black landfall, ditching the top end for low to the ground beaters.
I know this may sound like a bad idea but I don't think Knuckles is good in the deck, yes I know he turns on ferocious and is near unkillale in the late-game. But from what's I've seen of these decks they don't want to have a late game, this seems as said by someone before "Aggro-Control" I'd Rather to unfair morph things and not let the opponent keep my creatures dead. (den protector, Deathmist, and Kolaghan SF) I haven't played any with the deck but theorycrafting I really like the dragons plan. Take this all as salt though, someone with some time piloting would have better ideas.
Channel Fireball's Josh McClain has piloted Temur black 5-0 on MODO. http://youtu.be/s7spUon8JhQ
I think the Den-Mist combo is really good in this deck, cutting Kiora for Tasigur to fuel it while getting a beater that turns on ferocious on the board.
It is very hard to make a temp list when we don't know how the format will look. It could be dominated eldrazi ramp or mono red agro. And I don't think that tempo is the right way to go if our deck is 3+ colors, all those tangos will hurt our mana base. No I believe GR landfall-sligh is the best way to go, maybe topping the curve with Retreat to Valakut, managorger hydra, or Undergrowth Champion. I haven't gotten to play with it yet but I'll post a list later that I've been theory crafting.
What if y'all changed the deck to the Simic Control decks of old, maybe some Sphinx's Tutelage-s and kioras. Or the complete opposite direction going with Simic aggro based around hardened scales and such. the mana is fairly simple so it wouldn't be unrealistic to run Scatter to the Winds in the hypothetical aggressive deck. Just because the deck can't be the same as it was doesn't mean it's dead!
Has anyone tested managorger hydra? It seems real nice if you are going for Battlerage wins and more or less voltron style combat. I think it should be in the 75 as its really good versus RDW. I really like this deck so far and I think that both the equipments aren't needed, as it was said "taking two turns off to play and equip them aren't worth it."
someone should tell hasbro that abolishing the reserved list to reprint cards desperately wanted by players would increase their profits.
Wow, that took a long time.
If anything, this is just proof Wizards has no interest in changing their business model regarding the reserve list. They have stated time and time again they have no interest in abolishing it, and if their stock is currently soaring due to booming success, I sincerely doubt they'd chance it for anything so possibly inciting of such community backlash, regardless of possible potential profit.
People keep saying "I wonder if Wizards knows how much they'd make..." Yes. They do. They probably have an incredibly good idea. But they also have no idea what the extent of what they could lose is, and this is why they never will go back on it.
And that would make the entire mtg market unstable, by having the reserve list there is no longer this fear that your expensive card could be reprinted at any time and plummet in value.
I've been having some success with it but only when the game goes longer, I would like to cut the fat off and get some more dragons in it! *RAWR*
Some of the problem I've been having is to much ramp and not enough creatures to support See the Unwritten and others of the like. I would also like to cut these as soon as possible:
Fact or fiction
Chord of Calling
Plasm Capture
Keranos, God of Storms
Horizon Chimera
Steam Augury
Relentless Assault
Deadeye Navigator
Soul of Zendikar
.
