Hey matt, I agree with most of your choices so far, but here are a few I would have made:
I would still play price of progress mainboard, as most of the decks down at nlg are 3 colour and it screws up all the good two colour decks (such as geist) and leaves you with at least one of your colours still accessible.
I would also cut deus of calamity as it really isn't that good. 99% of the time its just a 6/6 with trample for 5 r/g and is extremely underwhelming. Perhaps replace him with Flametongue Kavu or Thragtusk?
Another thing to note is that now you no longer run Scorched Earth so 39 lands is very excessive. Try 34 or 35 lands.
Also consider playing Worldly Tutor since you have few tutors in the deck.
But other than those things the deck list looks pretty solid! Keep me posted on the progress of the deck and its match-ups (unless the game was against me :P)
You have successfully explained the rules text of Diplomatic Immunity, but it still isn't what Zur wants to be doing. It doesn't help you win, it just helps you not lose. I of course knew about the interaction with Zur's ability. If shroud stopped him from enchanting himself, we'd have to think a lot harder about Greaves, wouldn't we!
I initially tried it in my deck (which I play in a competitive setting with the French list, with some good, tuned decks), and I just never used it. Zur's attacks should be extremely impactful, and Immunity is the opposite of that. Sure, it helps against targeted removal, but whatever. Greaves gives him shroud, Pemmin's Aura gives him shroud, and you should still be holding up countermagic anyway, since the removal you're actually concerned about still gets him, like Wraths and edicts. Pemmin's Aura does whatever you need it to. If you need shroud, you get that. If you're free to take some big chunks of life off, it does that.
Try using both it and Pemmin's Aura for a while, and keep track of which ones lead to more wins and how quickly when used at similar times. That will make the decision for you.
I understand what you are saying, but all im saying is that in the current ADC format back to basics literally beats every deck in the format. the reason why I am favouring diplomatic immunity over pemmins aura in this situation is that most decks are running Krosan grip, natures claim, disenchant and such mainboard and thus an enchantment with shroud that also gives shroud is very handy when you just wanna slam down a back to basics and win.
[QUOTE=cromonolith;/comments/12381477]I would cut Diplomatic Immunity. It's rarely what you want to be doing.[QUOTE]
Diplomatic immunity is ALWAYS what you want to be doing, as zurs ability does not target himself and thus he can still put auras on himself and fetch enchantments without having to worry about rogue go for the throats and swords to plowshares. Also, diplomatic immunity itself has shroud and thus cannot be removed by anything other than a wrath.
Being a player of the same format (hi matt, its max) i know that the majority of the decks are three colour running three basic lands and 32-34 nonbasic lands, so i think try and control the board state with counterspells, removal etc until you can get zur out, fetch diplomatic immunity first, then back to basics and then start fetching your auras (steel of the godhead, battle mastery etc.) that should be pretty consistent provided you dont back to basics yourself really badly, but as soon as you land a diplomatic immunity zur should be safe and thus you can fetch journery to nowhere, oblivion ring or detention sphere to deal with threats before going in for the kill with back to basics.
Rakdos the Defiler - A lot of people were talking about him when Kaalia was first spoiled, but I’m still experimenting with him. I originally threw him in as a replacement for the recently banned Griselbrand, but a 7/6 flier with trample is nothing to sneeze at in its own right either. With Kaalia, we get one free shot at someone before we’re forced to make a decision.
Do we use Rakdos to attack, or do we use him to defend and save our permanents?
That depends. If you’re in a position where you can keep using Rakdos’s effect to whittle everyone’s resources away and win the game by flashing in other creatures with Kaalia, then go for it. But if you’re in a tight battle and you desperately need to keep mana ready, then it’s better to hold him back. Unless you can sacrifice Rakdos and get him back into your hand for Kaalia to flash in, I feel like the lost resources aren’t worth damage he can do.
Are you aware that when you flash him in with kaalia you dont have to sacrifice permanents as the trigger doesnt happen? in short, he enters play tapped and attacking, you didnt attack with him. so essentially he beats for 7 and they sacrifice half their permanents. however any attacks after that will cause you to sacrifice permanents.
porcelain legionaire is good, and not at all mana intensive. thundermaw hellkitewould also be a good addition to this deck, so would chrome mox, mox diamondand mana crypt though mana crypt is pricy. i would also try and run less of the two white mana creatures, as they may be efficient but it makes life harder for you. baneslayer angel is a good card though dont run too many five drops. also play burning wishas in boss you can fetch sorceries from your sideboard, and in your sideboard should be wrath of god, revoke existence, any sorceries that are useful in certain situations.
Also, Knight of the white orchid would be awesome in this deck as it is a 2/2 first strike that helps get aurelia out. flagstones of trokair would be out of place either as it is basically an indestructable plains.knight of meadowgrainis also an efficient creature and is better than some of the two white creatures you are running. plateu is also needed as u are short on dual lands, i know that doesnt have good synergy with blood moon and magus of the moon but its still worth a spot, and its the cheapest of the alpha duals.
Aurelias fury also deserves a spot as it helps get the beats in, kills mana dorks and small creatures and silences opponents. in short it is just very efficient.
If you looking to add a few walkers I would say Elspeth knight Errant (an auto include for me whenever I run white) and maybe Gideon Jura.
There is another equipment that works great if you want to maximise on drawing cards with those 1/1 creatures that can flood the battlefiend, when I remember it I will post it.
blood moon is a very good idea, but to keep it consistent, run magus of the moon as well. i agree with elspeth knight errant she is definitely fantastic, though im not sold on gideon as when i have played him he has been underwhelming. boros reckoner seems like a good idea as well, as does frontline medic and silverblade paladin. also, lightning mauler seems like it could be good. another good card to run is smash to smithereens as it is artifact removal plus lightning bolt to the face. serra avenger is also a good card and so is serra ascendant. hellrider is good also.
You can't find a list for it because it doesn't exist. Duel-Commander is a fast format. So the problem with what you are proposing, is that you're making an aggro deck, with a six mana commander that encourages over-extending, in a colour combination that doesn't have much in the way of ramp. If you want aggro and to stay in these colours, Brion Stoutarm is an aggressively costed creature that offers extra reach through his second ability.
Alternatively if you want an aggressive commander, consider looking into Rakdos, with something like Lyzolda, the Blood Witch or Wort, Boggart Auntie. Both of these choices will play much better with an aggressive strategy. Also, Radha, Heir to Keld for a different type of aggro than a Rakdos deck.
aurelia is very good, my friend who is making the list has been testing her and as soon as you cast her you win, and you just cast small beatsticks like goblin guide, mirran crusader, etc before her. she is in no way to slow and the deck runs plenty of rocks so gets her out turn 4 at least. secondly brion stoutarm has been done before and i believe aurelia is better. if people didnt try and pioneer original decks, then most of the good 1v1 decks aroud now wouldnt exist ( e.g. kaalia)
arcadus thank you for your post we have been testing it running heaps of weenies and it tends to kill them pretty fast. aurelia even gets the job done by herself i have noticed thanks to vigilance and being a bigger flyer than most in the format
as soon as there is a finished list i will post it
Hello, my name is max. A friend of mine is wanting to make aurelia for duel commander and sadly we cannot find a list to base his list on, so we decided to make our own. any suggestions would be appreciated and hopefully we can collaborate some kind of list out of this
ideas so far:
lightning bolt
goblin guide
lightning helix
hero of bladehold
hero of oxid ridge
path to exile
swords to plowshares
mother of runes
lightning greaves
additional generic beatsticks for low cmc
ok current decklist, have managed to get a fair few cards but im gonna have to go up to melbourne to get some of the cards such as thoughtseize, liliana, etc.

You are also missing some great cards that are within your colours, and you may not be running enough creatures. Cards such as Boggart Ram-Gang,Zealous Conscripts, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Imperial Recruiter all provide excellent tempo whilst still keeping the mana curve relatively low, especially Imperial Recruiter and Kiki-Jiki since they can tutor for or copy your ETB land destruction creatures.
Another thing to note is that now you no longer run Scorched Earth so 39 lands is very excessive. Try 34 or 35 lands.

also consider magus of the moonas another blood moon affect but on legs. also have you considered ranger of eos? it could be good if you run some efficient one drops like mother of runes and you can grab cards like figure of destiny and Goblin guide.
