Am I the only one who thinks that Godsend weapon looks mighty unwieldy?
    Yes.

A long pole with a sword blade on top. How are you supposed to battle with it? If you hold it near the blade for balance, someone can grab it from behind you. If you hold it by the bottom of the pole, then you can only swirl it around. Sure, you get momentum but you're wide exposed and can't switch aim rapidly.
Kinda like this. Notice that often, the ones wielding the naginatas hit quicker and at safer distances than those with the swords.

Well, having just read this issue, no spoilers here, but the story continues on Theros it seems past the 5th issue. However there is no information anywhere about when the next issue (either #6 of Theros or a new series) will be coming out. Nothing at all.

I hope these keep coming. The story is a little hit or miss, but I'm a huge fan of the promos and pretty much anything to do with official Magic storylines.
Yeah, the MTG comic is almost completely scrubbed off the IDW website. There's barely any mention of it anywhere on the site.

I would not be at all surprised if this was cancelled. Which is a shame, really. Magic seems like a great IP to have in comic form. Terrible writing really doomed this series from the start.

You do relize that if WOTC put a mutavault in the deck your lgs would be selling this for 50-70 dollars right?
Perhaps yours would. Mine doesn't. Mine always sells products like this at MSRP. In fact, 2 of my LGSs do this.

Not bad, but not great. Changes I would have REALLY liked to have seen:

    - 1x Blood Scrivener
    + 1x Pain Seer

Pain Seer plays off the same mechanic as Blood Scrivener, is a human (so it interacts better with Xathrid Necromancer), fits better with the aggro feel of this deck and is actually from Born of the Gods.

    - 1x Swamp
    + 1x Mutavault

The Thragtusk of today's Standard environment, Mutavault is currently the most played card in Standard and should have been an auto-include into this event deck to help keep prices down. Some places are selling Mutavaults for $40+, which is absolutely ludicrous. I'm very, very disappointed with WotC not including Mutavault.

    - 1x Crypt Ghast
    - 1x Fated Return
    + 1x Lifebane Zombie

Why is Crypt Ghast here? For the extort? Is that necessary? For the ramp? What are we ramping to? Our one-of Fated Return? I think Lifebane Zombie would have been a better pick for the aggro strategy and again, to keep it's price down.

    That's my 2 cents anayway.

Well, I'm going to go against the negativity bandwagon here.

I think this set looks like a lot of fun. There's a lot of synergies embedded in these cards and while a majority of these cards aren't going to be breaking any formats, I think Standard got some nice goodies, Commander got some cool cards and I'm pretty confident in saying that Modern and Legacy might have gotten a bone thrown at them as well.

That said, I really think Limited is the big winner here. I think these cards are really going to diversify Theros draft and that they're really going to force us to re-evaluate the format, which I think is necessary. I've felt that Theros itself felt incomplete and I think adding Born of the Gods to the puzzle will really make it shine (unlike how DKA made INN feel more cluttered instead of adding to the enjoyment).

Lastly, the best card name with associated card art is Setessan Starbreaker. Not a great card, but that name and art is freakin' baller.

Sorry to go against the grain here boys... but I really like this set so far.

Loved the Hydra deck, but my janky lifegain Angels deck steam-rolled it.

Nowadays I'm running a janky Sphere of Safety deck. Looks like it'll steam-roll this deck too.

That being said, the art is amazing and I'm looking forward to this challenge!

    Enough cats.
Cats should be white's signature small-creatures race. There are never enough cats.

The pre-release art on all the cards except maybe Eater of Hope is terrible. But by Zod... Dat Pain Seer. Dat Kraken. Do want.

I stand corrected. This is obviously our strictly better Infest. Looking forward to Black's Fated card.

I feel like the "strictly better Infest" will be part of this Fated cycle.

And so, WotC's ongoing quest to make cards that read like Bob without actually being Bob continues.
I think this is a good thing.

Bob's effect is a good, fun one, but Bob is a $70-$80 card for a reason. He's too good. WotC wants to give us a new Bob, but one that isn't completely busted. We just got a reprint in MMA, I'm sure he'll pop up again in MMA2 (maybe) or MMA3 (more likely).

People keep mentioning Springleaf Drum and Hidden Strings and Ral Zerak, but I feel there's a lot of ways to protect him in each of the colours. Blue has Aqueous Form and possibly Triton Tactics. Red has Madcap Skills. Green has Alpha Authority. I can see a BG Hexproof deck using Alpha Authority to protect Pain Seer for example.

Plus, there's a bunch of cards that'll help tap creatures in the set according to the article, so let's just see what those will be. I think Pain Seer is very, very fine for what he needs to be.

    Huh.

I'm sure that this has been mentioned before, but I just noticed that there's no Angel in this set. Blue has it's sphinx, B has a demon, R has it's obligatory dragon and G has two hydras.

White's missing its iconic. I wonder if that means something.

Tenacious Dead feels like the Greatest Best Card in the World.... Tribute.

Better flavour text, of course, would have been: "From whence it came it shall remain, until it was complete again."

Love the enchantment. It's hilarious. Going straight into my Cub(e). Zombie's fun too. Not sure if the white Human is better over Blind Obedience, but at least it's not redundant to play more than one of her.
