Keranos is one of the lesser two-colored gods they are already introducing to us (probably the RW one). Kruphix is the GU one, probably (as seen in the new Seedborn Muse).
Actually, the SUPER-FLAVOR option for Purphoros would be Volcanic Hammer. But it sucks.

2 COLOR GODS? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? where is this? sorry for caps lock but I've gone to far and my head is on a chin rest. lazy day.

Why don't you write WoTC a letter? I doubt anyone here works in their RnD department. "God" is gender neutral. They could have gone either way, but for repititions sake apparently they just chose God. I really hope it doesn't make you quit the game.

Gruul Gruul Gruul... I hope I don't blow anyone's mind with this, but lets add white and play some Naya!

Here I will show you how all of Xenagos, the Reveler's abilites are absolutley insane, and how his best friend is Purphoros, God of the Forge.

Aside- I will not provide a decklist, for it has changed 3 times today, but I will explain why we NEED white. The MB needs to be all creatures, 4 Xenagos and 3 Mizzium Mortars, seems familiar right? MB we need white for only one card Loxodon Smiter in a new format, a 4/4 body that cant be countered and comes down t2 is going to be invaluable. But white opens up or SB and g2/g3 plans to a whole new world.

Here is an example of why this PW is (consistently) amazing.
    t1 Elvish Mystic
    t2 Sylvan Caryatid, Scry land.
t3 Xenagos!!! drop an untapped land, plus him, tap your land and play Boros Reckoner
t4 Tap your dorks and a couple land and drop Purphoros, God of the Forge. he comes in as a creature thanks to reckoner and Xenagos. Then if you have something else in hand, you can plus Xenago, but I prefer to just make a 2/2 here and shock opponent.
t5 Now we plus Xenago, and tap a land and Mortars away our opponents board, and swing in for a huge chunk of change (2/2, 3/3 and a 6/5 is a lot!)
t6 a good follow up will be Polukranos, World Eater He doesnt die to mortars, and he allows you to plus Xenago and get value.
t7 if Xenago is still alive and at his ultimate ready, you just simply pop him off and in a deck full of creatures, the shocks from Porphurous and the proceding swing should finish off the game.

SB White gives us awesome synergestic options. Elspeth, Sun's Champion and Assemble the Legion are both bonkers with Purphoros, and very good in the control matchup. We also have Selesnya Charm to kill those stupid creatures bigger than 4 toughness or even exile some Gods. Chained to the Rocks does the trick as well. Heliod, God of the Sun may also be an option, He is resilient, and his tokens go well with Purphoros. Everyone having vigilance against aggression isnt bad either. Oh, and did I mention Blind Obedience Turns off opposing Xenago's tokens, Stormbreath Dragon, an Aetherling trying to do his exile dance, and Obzedat.

You may be saying 3 colors boo no good to greedy, burning earth blah blah. It works. if anyone wants a list I will put one up. Also, g/r has that new enchantment removal, AND Xenagos' plus ability gets around burning earth Wink have fun!

Sorry the card links don't work, I double checked the spelling, I think it is just the forum.

Primeval Bounty can also cause you opponent to autoscoop if you ulti Xenagos with the enchantment out Kekeke

Seems really strong for Standard and possibly EDH.

In Standard the second ability just seems so good, making him a monster against control. Combined with the first it also gives you the option of making some really silly plays on turn 4-5 when you untap with this guy (assuming you use his second ability on the turn you play him). Craterhoof Behemoth becomes a realistic finishing option with this guy around, and on the less greedy side he also helps you get to big Garruk faster. Throw in Domri Rade and a GR dudes+walkers deck seems very strong.

In EDH people will want him just for the 1st ability, which has the potential to get out of hand in the right decks.

Outside of that he is probably just too slow to be worth it in Legacy/Modern. Although who knows, Modern surprises me at times. Maybe some sort of Young Pyromancer token heavy deck would like this guy as a mana-source.

His STD capabilities with Craterhoof are limited to zero because Avacyn Restored rotates out the same day he rotates in :p

I've played with card, and it is pretty bad. Does not net you a card, which is what we are used to from Augur. Would much rather just run Quicken.

On the other hand, Hundred Handed One is bonkers as a creature in this deck. his vigilance plus monstrosity basically stops weenie attacks. combined with thassa he is a free 3-6 damage a turn. W/U needs to be proactive during an entire set rotation. Holding back and biding time will be useless, because with every set rotation come an over abudance of hyper aggresive decks that love PW's.

is Bonfire of the Damned still the sweeper of choice? It doesn't kill Falkenrath Aristocrat, Cartel Aristocrat and Boros Reckoner still gives a backfire. All three cards that happen to be on the same deck.

Although it does kill a lot of other stuff, damages to the dome and eventually gets rid of troublesome planeswalkers. It just feels clunky to miracle a Bonfire with a Falkenrath on the other side.

It kills Cartel Aristocrat. Bonfire targets players not creatures.

At beginning of my next end step, I put Obzedat, Ghost Council trigger on the stack. If my opponent Turn him in response, does he exile forever?

I'm running this on MODO but couldnt actually playtest a lot... I really need someone with Jund to see how the matchup goes.

So far Warped was never dead you just gotta play it right I guess.
The sideboard is a little odd, but Elixir is there against Psychic Spiral (worked once, prolly deserves a cut) and Renounce against Jund and Aristocrats. The 3 Jaces may be a bit too much, but it can win games as well against many decks, and 4 Nephalia's as they are the only win condition, and a cleasing to destroy Garruk's.

This list is really good against aggro, as it should be, but I'm worried about the Jund/Junk matchup. Maybe control is dead after all =)

Hmmm I think Aetherling is an excelent wincon because he also doubles as removal while at the same time doing the MC HAMMER CANT TOUCH THIS dance. I took out my jaces entireley for him. I find psychic spiral to be better than elixer because if they mill the elixer its aww poop. if they mill a spiral you can snap it back all day. I play Jund as well, but not on modo unfortunately only irl. Ummm my main strategy against esper is ramp to sire of insanity and land a ground seal at the same time. Oh, and I run a one of cavern to name demon with as well. then i hope to have a garruk out and poop tokens and TD bonfires. Jund is a super hard matchup for anyone atm and i feel that only jund aggro is good against jund mid and maybe frites, which is typically good against all decks.

So, from reading the last few posts, it seems a Planeswalker heavy list is not considered viable. I still see Shaeen Soorani jamming Planeswalkers like they are out of style with lingering souls, but most lists are much more passive and instant speed friendly, while Soorani is much more tapout.

I like a lot of the lists, especially more sweeper heavy and tons of draw. I still think Augur is decent, but Id much rather max out on Think Twice way before considering Augur as an additional filtering card.

I'm not really sure how I feel about warped physique. Its a little conditional, and even though its removal, somehow I would prefer Feeling of Dread in its place. Even though FoDread isn't removal (and its just as dead versus noncreature based matches) it doubles in stall effect for the same slots devoted. Out of the two Id much prefer FoDread.

Are Jace AoT or Tamiyo just lousy or unprofitable? I would have thought the extra draw power and agro suppression of Jace and tapping ability or Tamiyo would be amazing compliments to this archtype. Or even Liliana of the Veil. Is there a strong reason not to be running heavy Planeswalkers in general. Im curious if anyone on this forum has been running heavy Planeswalkers and how it compares to light Planeswalker lists and matches. Thanks.

I think you are onto somehting here with dread, ESPECIALLY IN THE MIRROR. it is one the the few very viable answers that we (OR ANYONE) have at dealing with AEtherling. ah AEtherling, my wincon and mystical space typhoon belly dancer. I want to get an alternate art Aetherling that is MC Hammer and says, "CAN'T TOUCH THIS"

There you go =) EDIT: This is the SCG Premium list!

I like the list, only the augur/resto package haven't been testing well for me. Having sweepers 5-6 or even 7 main board is being much more effective.

For the first time I was happy reading a deck discussion here, this esper thread seens to be on the right direction to tune the list. Archie, Razefire, Cipher and Redtwister are coming to the same common place as I am, and I hope that is a good sign lol

And adding to the discussion, I feel bounce is very well positioned right now. It's live against tokens (advent, thrag after the sweep, ressurgence elemental), good against aggro (experiment, champion and stromkirk back to hand) and Jund (Bounce sire with the trigger on the stack, you still lose the hand but at least the 6/4 isnt in the board anymore). I'm playing 2 Far/Away for now, but Dramatic Rescue is pretty nice against aggro, giving you enough time to sweep the board.

Oh, and Crypt is overperforming lol As well as Warped, it's the best spot removal for esper in my opinion.

What is your list? And I've been playtesting majorly with warped physique and am not a huge fan. Early game i love it, and late game after a rev or two i love it, but mid game when im dwindling with 4 cards in hand and one is warped and they drop an aurelia, in not super happy. I went back and did a two two slip of slip and warp. the thing i love about slip is you can esentially have no cards in hand, throw out a snap n chump block then kill WHATEVER you like.

I mainboard one crypt incursion and side two. THAT CARD IS BONKERS against any deck that runs creatures. the lifegain gets quite out of hand.

Something I wanted input on was a singleton Murder?!?!? Has anyone tried this out, it hits almost anything besides regen and indestructible, but I feel like a singleton is good to have when Jund (while running one cavern such as i do in my jund) windmill slams a sire of insanity and warped physique just doesnt cut it, BUT MURDER DOES.

One cannot put in any specific hate for one archetype main deck as the meta is healthy and you may face another type of deck that's the exact opposite of the hate you put in main Smile

I play both Junkinator and Jund. MB Ground Seal is actually amazing in the meta right now. It turns off Snapcaster whom is played in decks such as America, Esper, Duskmantle Bug, and Turbo Fog. Plus with Sire of Insanity out and a ground seal, Jund is in a pretty healthy position. With that being said, I am loving the new version of frites that MB's Acidic Slime. Acidic slim hits so much and if you can curve it out t3 and t4 and t5 its usually a concession at that point. Sin Collector is good to because it usually allows you look at their hand before making any crucial plays.

4-0 At FNM, then 4-0 Saturday at my LGS' STD once a month win-a-box (for top 8)

    FNM

Round 1 was aint no lie, baby BYE BYE BYE

    Round 2 v BUG Aggrovenge
Game one I kept a risky hand with dragonskull and bloodcrypt with a farseek. By turn 4 I still had no green source and he had Deathrite Shaman, Dreg Mangler and a Vrolz out.

Games 2 and 3 I was able to curve Arbor Elf into t3 Huntmaster, then t4 Olivia or Thragtusk. I sided in all my removal and took out a Garruk, Olivia, and trimmed a bonfire and a dreadbore since sorcery speed is bad and abrupt decaying their scavange target is awesome.

    Round 3 v American Cyclops
My buddy made an American Deck with Nivix Cyclops and Artful Dodge. The first game he got me down to 4 life by turn 5 but then a couple huntmasters into a thragtusk then Olivia saved me. Huntmaster was really good agasint him since he always cast multiple spells on his turn to make his cyclops really big. Game two he got super land screwed.

    Round 4 v Slime Reanimator.

Dude Mulliganned both games one to 6 on the play, then 5 on the draw. He got pretty land screwed and I curved out and did the Jund thing. Side Note- I p.t against this deck and if they ramp into an early slime and resto it a couple times this matchup is really hard because we need our lands. After boarding I droppeg all planeswalkers and a thrag and put in the other sire and groundseals because them together is major work. Since I dont run Electrickery, Gaze of GRanite for 1 kills all 8 or their dorks.

Saturday was pretty much the same, only deck that gave me real trouble was American Mid/ Tempo. Warleaders Helix I guess was made to beat Sire.
