Now, before the flaming starts, hear me out. This is more of a wishful storyline than anything,
Imma let you finish, but this is textbook baseless speculation.
but what if Bolas was in Theros block? Now the first set it is fairly clear that Xenagos is the main baddie for the first set, trying to take Heliod's spear or some sort. But what if Bolas was using him as a distraction? And as Elspeth defeated him, he said something about "the dragon", causing a flashback to Alara for Elspeth, playing more on not wanting to be a hero. Blah blah flavor mismatch and some such objection, but if you think about it, Bolas is perfect. He seeks power, and loves being worshiped. He could be a "false god", pulling followers away from all the other gods. They could use it as an excuse to reprint the three followers from M13 as well, all hitting on multiple flavor points, Mindclaw being a minotaur, Disciple being a human, and Augur a merfolk. It would add flavor and an interesting story arch. Now this is for the second/third set, not this set. Then for Journey into Nyx, Bolas would have taken over Nyx, and usurped the Gods. Elspeth and the heroes of the block, and usurped gods make a march on the now Bolas controlled Nyx. Elspeth could call on the one and only Ajani for this battle, knowing the past between the two. Ajani could receive a reprint, only, again as a twist, is black/white or even mono black. The reason for this being, as the battle reaches its climax, Ajani and his buddies, (Gods/Elspeth), put Bolas to his knees. He begs for mercy, for them to spare his life, but Ajani, full of hatred, strikes the killing blow, while his partners are still contemplating, rejecting the fairness of imprisonment or even a trial. And, if Wizards really loves Bolas so much that they can't let him go, toss him into a new body called "Bolas Reborn" or some such, where he has to regain his power over the years and sets. Or they could just let him die in a satisfying way, with Ajani and Elspeth finally gaining peace from Alara.
Sorry for the length, just thought it would be a cool story.

Since loving someone that much is completely idiotic and wrong right? Since most of us, given the choice between our wives and the pope living we totally wouldn't pick our wives. How stupid of Hades to care.
I myself am partial to omniscience. I don't believe it would be too much to contemplate/feel like the Dr. Doom comic scene up yonder simply for the fact that I am not thinking of everything I know at all times. I certainly don't feel everything at once, at least consciously. And when posing the question my friends and I were taking this as a vacuum, you cannot gain the other with the one you have. Say there was some divine law or wish law that prevented gaining both, you can only have one. I figure knowing everything would rock, whereas having power of everything would become boring. In my opinion at least.
I had the idea for this deck after playing online against several decks that did simply degenerative things with combos. I decided to make a deck that was just as degenerative as any one that played against me decided. If someone plays with light creatures/weak creatures, it is a very mellow deck. It is very enjoyable to have a deck that is reflective to the board state.
Now I am partial to Sakashima. I recently made a deck that simply punishes people for playing their mean stuff by either copying or stealing it and it is quite fun.
Usually when dealing with quicker decks and more mana ramp decks, people tend to be ok with losing one life to me vs the large primordials or token armies other players throw up. And yes I have upped the land count, to make it run smoother. Baneslayer and Oversold Cemetery are good suggestions. Thank you for feedback.
-After more playtesting, I removed a few cards that were too unwieldy, not political, or not worth it in the deck, replacing with lands. One card cut was Baneful Omen, it was too expensive for the effect and painted a target on my head.
-I may have to try Teysa 1.0 out as commander, but my goal in casting my commander is to make it even less profitable to hit me. The idea of the deck is to be a virtually ignored player, playing politically for most of the game, dinging here and there. At the point people begin worrying about you, they could kill another player or even two sometimes for what it would take to hurt me a lot. Teysa 2.0 adds another layer of detriment to attacking me, you lose the creature, I get tokens, and she destroys double strike. I will playtest with 1.0 however. Thank you for the suggestions everyone. Keep making them please.
Actually I haven't had much trouble with land drops. I plan on adding more land, just testing what works and what doesn't at this point, but only 2-3 more because so far land doesn't seem to be much of an issue.
I Decided to make a deck based around an extortion type them, little pings here and there on everyone if possible, gaining you a large amount of life. Late game you can cast a large Exsanguinate or Debt to the Deathless to win. In playtesting I find that given even a few turns with extort triggers puts you in a very powerful position life wise, often leading to a victory. The deck is played by being relatively passive, just gaining life while dinging everyone else slightly, then going in for the kill when it is too late for them to take down your life.
Thank you! I am just messing around with him right now! Good suggestions and explanations for them. Much better than what I usually seem to see/hear: "Brainstorm, this, that and the other."
"Why?"
"Because they are good."
Now I'm just spitballing, but personally I would absolutely love to see a mythic cipher. Something befitting a mythic cipher would be awesome. Cipher has so much potential, and I think a high quality mythic cipher would just be sweet.
My friend and I got into a debate about Reanimator decks today. Reanimator has been dominating the big tournaments recently, so is it too powerful? Will WotC print MORE grave hate in Dragon's Maze?
I tend to think there is more than enough hate, and if it is as big of a problem as he thinks, people would be dedicating more sideboard hate for it. He said that there is no cards that work with the decks, making them weak to the other competitive decks: Control, Naya, RDW to a lesser degree, etc.
What do you think? Do they need more/better grave hate? Or are we standard players getting too greedy in our sideboards?
Imma let you finish, but this is textbook baseless speculation.
