I haven't seen many 1 drops in Mono Black. I am an old player that is restarting standard.
Is there a reason why 1 drops aren't being used? It seems like this deck is already very mid-late game with the mana curves. Lots of 3-5 drop cards. Are the Bile Blight, Hero's Downfall and Languish enough to hold off the opponent to bust out the bigger cards at the end? Lili's discard ability has to help out but is it enough? Aggro is always the bane of my existence in magic. Board wipes like Languish will certainly help but playing a ton of Read the Bones and Sign in Blood will surely take its toll by turn 4.
Very nice idea! I made a deck like this that stkll needs some tweaking too. I do not rely on sorceries to take control of creatures though; I rely on Zealous Conscripts and Molten Primordial to take control and Cartel Aristocrat to sacrifice. By also using the Sepulchral Primordial you can benefit from cards that you have taken control of, swung with, sacrificed and now reanimate from their graveyard. Unburial Rites makes thos possible to get out some big creatures early on! Hope this helps or gives you something to think about. Good luck!
I have thought about Falkenrath Aristocrat but I have found it to be a more aggro card. It would be more beneficial for sure but at the same time does that mean I need to go more aggro? The cards I have that are 7+ drops are key end game or turn 4 if I'm lucky enough to discard a biggie and reanimate it.
The little testing that I have done has been great against midrange and control for the most part. Against aggro I get WRECKED! Because I don't have enough board control for multiple creatures per turn.
Thanks. Yeah board wipes would be good. I want to stay away from mutilate bcause it also kills my creatures. I do not play many creatures early on so possibly the card Divine Reckoning. All I realt need late game is a Cartel Aristocrat for the sacrifice effect. Rakdos Keyrune would be good for mana or a creature, still requires 2 mana to activate though. Would a Boros Reckoner be better for that?
I'm new to the world of deck building (decent deck building anyways and I need help with an idea that I have. Like all the other decks I have built it has a problem with aggro.

The whole point in this deck is to take control of the opponents creatures with Zealous Conscripts and then sacrifice it with Cartel Aristocrat or kill it with a little bonus with Devour Flesh The reanimator portion of this comes in handy with the bigger creatures like Griselbrand Molten Primordia Sepulchral Primordial or just another Zealous Conscripts with Unburial Rites
