Wooo! Bradley Carpenter in semi-finals. His sideboard is very different, 4 pithing needle and not a lot of utility creatures.

The problem with Gryff is that it also hoses your own combo.

Whoever gets their combo assembled first gives the opponent just 1 turn to either break it up or assemble their own. So basically just try and assemble the combo ASAP and bring in from the board anything that can disrupt theirs. Linvala, Scavenging Ooze, Mindcensor, Path, Decay. I even bring in Pontiff as it has huge blowout potential against opponents leaning on their dorks in the early turns. At the end of the day though it just comes down to who has better draws most of the time.

Would it be reasonable cut Fiend Hunter and the 3rd Gavony for Spike Feeder and Archangel of Thune from Logan's list? I assume Fiend Hunter is there to get around Scavenging Ooze but the Feeder + Archangel combo gets around that anyway. I like Logan's all-in combo and those changes push it even further with the bonus of not having to play Fiend Hunter. I've always hated playing with that card.

Yeah, I threw up a little in my mouth during that match. Mindcensor was pretty solid though, and I think I saw Eidolon in his hand g3.

Haha, I saw that list. Troll mountains. I've been testing this one a little bit and it seems good so far. Scion has a nice interaction with the Voice and Wurm tokens. Collective Blessing and all the dorks work well together. I'm just not sure if it has the power level of some of the other decks out there.

I'm just waiting on a few of the cards to arrive and then I'm gonna take it for a spin this weekend at a win-a-box tournament. I'll let you know how it goes!

This looks great. I am looking to get back into standard and I think this might be the deck I want to build since many of the card choices won't be rotating out this fall. Would you recommend investing in this deck? Also, I am unable to deduce the sideboard plan.
