Update: support getting back to me and they are giving me 26 boosters back. What a ridiculous move. I've sent them my screen capture of the achievement on "Origins Five" (i.e. having collect 5 planeswalker) and they give me back boosters...
I can't understand why they can't just revert my collection to previous state. Having your entire collection erased and then give you back 26 boosters definitely turn me away from playing this game anymore.
I've been playing since launch and maxing the coin cap each day. Got all my give planeswalker and many rares, and BOMB, entire collection gone! And customer service is silent! I don't understand why Wizards keep forcing us to stop playing the game we love. First MTGO, now this...
Just want to share this so you don't get surprise like I do when you see your entire collection gone.
the same happen to me too, after playing for several hours the solo battle stopped showing those coin sign... wonder if there is a limit on the coins you can get via solo battle per day?
I think here is what I will do: Duel of the Planeswalker is a good point as that is the game that brought me into the physical card game, I am excited for the 2014 version. I guess I'll just spend more time with that rather than going to LGS. Also I might spent more time on Magic Online and see how it goes. I think I am going to play less. I decided for this week FNM I will go to the LGS but I am not going to play but watch, I guess I need to take a break and revisit what's wrong in my play.
Regarding having fun, to be honest, I am not having fun right now, and that's exactly why I am thinking about quitting. I am not a competitive player and I don't NEED to win to have fun, I just want to occasionally run into a close game with people, may be I'll lose it, that's fine, but I want to feel that I have the chance, just like if you are playing tennis with a pro player, and you always can't even strike back once, that make you feel you never actually played any game but getting beaten to death... anyway hopefully when I observe more and I can be better and at least strike back once.
P.S.: and yes now I never play with the guy who got my snapcaster mage by trading me a trash rare, and he won't play with me neither as he only play rare redraft.
I started playing mtg since ISD block. I always love card games and I always wanted to try mtg but I got no friends playing it. At the time ISD was released, I tried to post on a local tcg forum and said that I am a complete newbie and would like to get guidance. I am glad that someone replied me and bring me to a local game store and I started drafting regularly, around twice a week.
In the beginning I always lose and I am prepared for that as we all know as we pick up a new game it's normal to lose. We are doing rare re-drafting draft and at that time I have no idea on the card value (e.g. I opened a snapcaster mage and I traded with my friends for sth like a 6/6 6 mana creature), so I don't really feel anything on keep losing and getting junk rares.
After 1 year, I believe my skill improved but still I constantly rank the lowest in the local playgroup. At the same time, I started to go ebay to get cards I want and I started to learn about the value and power level of cards. Suddenly, I realize I've have paying 2 draft a week for a whole year and when I look at my folder, I do not see a single rare that worth more than $4.
I told my friends, I do not want to rare redraft anymore, coz I really would like to build up my card inventory and build more standard decks. They started to explain me to only rare redraft will help you to improve your skill, and that is the most fair game, etc. I really do not buy it so that group of player never invited me playing anymore.
Then I only attend FNM, for the next whole block, RTR. I do feel happier sometimes, as from time to time I can pull some cool stuff and keep it, while I still constantly rank the lowest, I do not mind paying into the prize pool as I consider those are entry fees.
So that's another whole year. During the time, I do find my skill improved and I see thing very differently compared to where I start. However, my local playgroups are all very experienced players and they really spend a lot of time playing the games. I find my skill just can never catch up with them. When I play, I feel they can see all my move by just looking at my open mana, when they kill my creatures or trade with me, they always generate huge advantage or wipe my board, I've been learning from these but I can't generate that much advantage like they do. I started to feel sad when I get hit so hard by their bomb and combo.
As I constantly rank so low, I feel that every players when they come to play against me, they will show that "oh killing you is a piece of cake", when sometimes I do win them back, but they would say "oh my draw sucks" and from the bottom of my heart I agree with them, when I win, it's my pure luck, when I lose, it's normal, becoz after all I am not as experienced as them, and I didn't spend that much time as them.
I love the game and I want to play it. That's why I don't mind losing for whole 2 years and during the time, I tried very hard to learn from people, practicing thru MO, and still, I just can't catch up on the skill level.
At last, I come to the point that I want to quit playing mtg. I just find it no matter how much I love the game, it's just make me so unhappy to get hit so hard every time. I am thinking if I should stop playing, and may be just be a collector. I am not angry with anyone in my playgroups, it's just that I feel really unhappy and I do not have that confidant that I can win a single game by skill and not luck.
I really love the game, I really would like to continue to play, but at the same time I also really can't take the feeling on constantly losing. Can someone give me some advice? Is there a way to overcome this feeling? Or how should I train myself to catch up with players with 10+ years of exp? Or I should just quit silently? Thanks.
Hi, I just got my box today and they are in the following order (top to bottom, left to right). It doesn't seems to follow any pattern that were mentioned earlier in this post. I got many duplicate sleeve style next to each other. Any ideas how to row shift it so that I could beginning mapping? Thanks so much!
