No disrespect intended. Good writers deserve praise for the time and effort they put in researching, iterating, and planning. But in the end all it requires is clarity of mind, adequate grammar, and the ability to understand literary structures like chapters and acts. From there you add personality for color and flavor. In other words it's approximately 50% structure and 50% personality, though for the purposes of entertainment you definitely want to focus on personality, because no matter how well-structured your story is, if the personality doesn't grip the reader, they won't care enough to read it. And as long as your story offers a captivating personality, a few grammatical errors here and there can be excused if the reader is still entertained throughout.

In other words, have fun writing and showing your personality. The more fun you have writing your story, the more fun the audience will likely have reading it. That holds true for Magic as well. And by the sounds of it, the creative writers do have fun with the story.
No, good writers deserve praise for being good writers, not a list of bullet points that have nothing to do with being one. It seems like you're only talking about storytelling, which is just a portion of what it takes to write well, and it's not even an omnipresent portion. I know you're not trying to be disrespectful, but you were, and you are. It absolutely is akin to saying, "Anyone can be as good at basketball as Michael Jordan, if they just practice their dribble, their shot, and eat Wheaties." My father-in-law spends almost as much time on his writing as Stephen King does his, but he's not good, and he never will be (much like Magic's creative - zing!).

If you read things that you think anyone could write, you are reading the wrong stuff.

No, no, no. I am a professional editor for a publishing house, and just no. Please do not go around spreading this kind of idea. It is already a problem that many people think that they can write because they are passably literate in their mother tongue.

    Just no.

Writing is much more involved than this.

Anybody can be a good writer as long as they have the patience to sit down, learn, and plan out their story ahead of time. Some people might take to it more naturally than others, but compared to physical activity like ahtletics or marksmanship, mental exercises like writing are significantly easier to develop.
That's pretty disrespectful to good writers/writing. I agree that everyone could and should try to improve their writing ability at every opportunity, but the range of that improvement is limited for most people. Being a good writer is every bit as unlikely as being a good basketball player.

according to the spoiler page were at 53 of 54

The Scarab God card has yet to be spoiled. That's 54.
It was spoiled two days ago in the same video that spoiled the regular version.

Is no one going to comment on the fact that Rhonas's "last stand" involves him chucking his head to become a token?
Well, you did, but nobody else will because that's not what's happening.

I really hope we get 3 large sets for this block and they go ham on the creature types and everything. Fingers crossed for a legendary Kavu and tribal support!

No. The large sets will all be different planes.

Thats not what they said. They said we might stay on the same plane for 2 or even 3 sets if the story needs it. I am not sure if that will be the case for Dominaria but I think some other planes such as Ravnica will most definitely need more than a single set.

Good job quoting half the point. If you'll read the other half you'll see why it won't happen despite what you just wrote.
It's still wrong, with or without your so-called "point." No need for the salt.

No. The large sets will all be different planes. Also Dominaria comes halfway through the year, it makes no sense for the first set of Dominaria to rotate out before the other two..

This, of course, assumes they won't tinker with the rotation schedule again.
BFZ and SOI will rotate out leaving KLD, AKH, XLA, DOM and the new core.
KLD and AKH rotate out leaving XLA, DOM, the new core, and the next 2 large sets.
Then XLA, Dom and the new core all rotate out leaving the 2 large sets on their own (plus another large set and the new core when those come out)

That's if they keep the 1/year rotation as it is now - with rotations happening in the Fall (Dominaria is coming out in the spring)

But as I have stated - I'm pretty sure that Dominaria will be the location of all the core sets going forward. The timing of the 3 and 1 announcement followed by this seems fitting.
Don't consider your assumptions to be facts. Each set is self-contained. Even if they stay on a plane for 2 or more in a row, they still aren't a block, and WotC didn't say they need to be in rotation together; you did.

It’s possible that Bolas will do the same to rest of the Gatewatch, making it so that each member is randomly stranded on a different plane, with the exception of Ajani who has to rescue each one. Or maybe it’s just Jace that has this happen to him.

That sounds like a certain story arc in One Piece.

Final Fantasy VI did that decades ago with the original World of Ruin.

X-Men did it even earlier with one of my favorite plot twists ever (Siege Perilous),
but it's possible someone did it even earlier than that.

I'm guessing part of Jace's recovery will involve us finally seeing a set based on Vryn.
Sounds like something they could call a trope, and do three times within a block. ...Which will be even more painful when they're one-set-blocks. Wink

    That is definitely Rhonas.

If that's the case what the hell did Bolas do to the insectoid gods? That's one hell of a steroid regimine he has them on.
Nah. Nicol Brolas and The Bropion God totally just didn't, like, skip leg day.

There is only room for maybe one more green. That's only 2 maybe three in the whole 54 card set.
    Very underrepresented

No spoilers on the white 26-31 cards yet.

That scorpion God invocation is just disappointing. Should have been much better art.

51 could be the locust God and 53 could be the Scarab God.
That bumps Nicol Bolas himself out of the set.

What is the creature on Edict a picture of, a God? Hard to tell,
    That is definitely Rhonas.

If real, I do like that we are going back to creature types matter. And that Pirate Captain is on point. Treasure tokens!

Basically Clue 2.0. We might see a related "investigate" mechanic producing treasures....

And yes, seems like it is at least semi-tribal.
    You mean "Gold 2.0"?

As MaRo noted, there are more supporters of the Reserved List than people think. They just don't feel welcome to express their opinions on the matter because of how vehemently some of those on the opposite side of the debate demonize the RL..

Maybe a lot of them (not all, obviously) shouldn't come off like pompous pricks, namecalling, trying to shame people over disliking the RL, putting words in the mouths of those who dislike the RL at all/as it is, and chose making it difficult to civilly talk about the RL... basic cause and effect, IMO.

(And yes, I do mean "not everybody" - some people, hell, a lot of people, are capable of civil, polite discussion, and openmindedness, I've seen it, it exists. Smile )
I, personally, don't know anyone who is for the Reserved List, but this is a shockingly hypocritical post.

Did no one else notice the Bolas PW card? 5BUR +3 each opponent loses 3 life unless they sac a creature or discard a card. -2 destroy target creature. Draw a card. -11 ~deals 7 damage to each opponent and you draw 7 cards.
There's another thread devoted to it.

So the last 3 Gods (I presume) are going to be used by Bolas to spread plagues, eh?

It does look like that, but I thought they were going to leave the Biblical stuff out of this set.
Of "Amonkhet," not "Hour of Devastation."

Oh my bad, I thought Dominaria was a set name. I wasn´t around for those set so thought I would check the cards out for when we return to the place

Dominaria might well be the full and final name of the forthcoming set (though I wouldn't be surprised if it gets some other words by print time).
I think it's pretty set in stone at this point.
