Well I for one agree with you. It's annoying and rude. And I'll say it jeopardizes my interest in the set to see reveals like this. I was far more interested in OGW after the massive leak than I would have been on the roller coaster of interest and disappointment. That frustrating tug-of-war was pointless aggravation AND I could care less what articles or timing are aimed at - I either will like and want the cards or not. There is no convincing here.

I'm having a hard time seeing this as anything other than trying to find another reason to hate MaRo/WotC. This is a completely reasonable (and common) practice when releasing information about a new product.

I generally despise how often people throw around the word "entitled", but...

MaRo holding spoilers over our heads like we are starving prisoners or something

Well that's a pretty extreme analogy... I think most people see it as "hyping up a big reveal".

I'm certainly excited. I'd guess it's Oath of Liliana, but that would mean that...
...they would have already progressed past Emrakul being imprisoned...
    ...so I'm doubtful.

Edit: The "something" in his post almost implies an effect that players have been wanting. Hmm...

I have a great idea how this card could have been better. Add random tentacles everywhere and apply a purple tint. ''Planeswalker - Tamiyo'' should read as ''Planeswalker - Tamiyo Eldrazi Horror''. Wotc should hire me.

Eldrazi feed on salt just like everything else.

As to the actual card, I too am having a hard time seeing her as green, and I hardly buy "well she studies the natural world" as an excuse, as that is a blue behavior. White I could sort of see based on her actions in the recent story...
though thank god she doesn't join the jacetus league

Then I read the name of the back side... I think I sprained my eyes rolling them. Not sure why we need to take our terrifying Voice of Nightmares and name it Brangelina.

Ugh, I know...it should've been left as just "Voice of Nightmares". Much more ominous, without the silly portmanteau. Especially since, according to Eldrazi Conscription, "the barest taste of Eldrazi power shatters both realms and identities"

The part with Jace's PoV made me want to vomit.

Looking into Emrakul's mind and hearing her voice? Give me a break.

Other way around, Emrakul was intruding on Jace's mind.

Either way, I thought it was ridiculous that she had a voice. Takes away from the whole "incomprehensible eldritch horror" vibe, though they've been stripping that away from the eldrazi for some time now.

Story is up, and it was kinda cool (minus the "___'mrakul" everyone is saying) up until Jace's PoV...which made me want to vomit. Looking into Emrakul's mind and hearing her voice? Immediately meeting up with the Gatewatch? I went from super hyped after the trailer to super frustrated after the story.

Sure, it dies to Ruinous Path, assuming your opponent doesn't have any creatures of their own you can kill with it Wink

If nothing else, they've nailed the flavor of the three titans, despite having lower power level. I also love the flavor text mirrored on all of them.

I'm not denying a possible eldrazi involvment. I'm denying confirmation of Emrakul's presence, because there is none. Is it possible that Emrakuls is causing all this? Apparently yes. Is there definitive proof? No. And some people here are saying 'well, now Emrakul is confirmed as the big bad'. It is not.

I appreciate your skepticism, but when your rebuts boil down to...

"there could be different floating, runed rocks Avacyn is seeing" (despite just coming off a block with them, though by different name)
"plenty of things have tentacles" (again, despite coming off of a block with them by the truckload)
"that doesn't look like Emrakul's corruption" (despite what her mutations look like never actually being defined, and much of it matching her color palette)
"We don't know what Nahiri is summoning" (despite the fact that she helped lure the Eldrazi to Zendikar)
    etc...

It's hard to not look at that and think "Emrakul", which is most likely the point of many of these instances. Sure, it's obviously not confirmed, but when we're speculating, it's hard to deny that they at least really want us to think of Emrakul, whether it turns out to be or not. To say the clues are the only evidence is just silly. Sure, it's circumstantial, but that's how stories work.

I am frankly surprised that many of you are not running here with "OMG EMRAKUL CONFIRMED!111!!!11!" after seeing the color scheme and style on Moldgraf Scavenger. Smile

    But it's a mushroom...

And what? Mushroom is not a living matter? People are grasping at such straws that this omission genuinely surprised me.

You have an amusing way of vilifying people whose theories you disagree with Smile

Also, to clear things up for folks that are thinking "they came as three" may be referring to something else, the flavor text on Ugin's Insight was pulled from an Uncharted Realms story where Jace was talking to Ugin about Ulamog and the Eldrazi, so it's highly unlikely that the clue puzzle is referring to the legendary angels or something else.

The theory that Emrakul could make two more titans as replacements could actually match a Lovecraftian trope of inevitability and hopelessness. If the phrase "Remember, They came as three" indicates that three Eldrazi titans must exist at all times, then there's are inevitable threat that planeswalkers cannot truly defeat. The titans just reform out of the Blind Eternities to continue to consume. Sure, you can 'kill' them on one plane, but you'd have to eternally search for them afterwards and some planes would be snuffed out before you can gt there.

Though the "There must always be a ______" trope can get tiring, I think it'd be cool in this context, especially considering the theory that the Eldrazi are an essential system in the multiverse that consume planes as new ones are created to maintain equilibrium. Granted, there's no real proof of this theory besides Ugin saying that it's a bad idea to kill them until we know their purpose, but still...it'd add a more interesting dimension to them than "mysterious plane-consuming eldritch monstrosities".

100% agree. Honestly, I've been confused from the start as to why people have been so hostile towards the possibility of Emrakul (to be clear, I'm not 100% behind Team Em as there is a possibility of a red herring, but I'm at 90%). Sure, BFZ was handled horribly, but what we have going on with SoI is exactly what everyone has wanted from the start to represent a "cosmic horror" threat.

What struck me recently was how much MORE epic this whole thing would have been if BFZ never happened, Zendikar was confirmed destroyed a while ago, and this was the first we were seeing of the Eldrazi since RoE (especially if it was Kozilek on Innistrad - he seems perfect for the place, may his cosmic essence rest in peace...)

The tentacles on the Parish Blade are blue/pink, which is pretty heavily associated with eldrazi this point...

It specifies "artifact or creature" so probably not an Eldrazi. She's almost certainly going to be paired some powerful artifact.

More likely, the "artifact" part just reflects the fact that she was, and still is, a Stoneforge Mystic (lithomancer).

Angel of Deliverance's shield makes it pretty clear we're seeing Avacyn's symbol change... to look like the Cryptoliths/Moon Heron.

Also in the promo art for Ravenous Bloodseeker

Edit: Also, Nahiri is pretty much confirmed to be trying to summon SOMETHING now...
