I was working on a post-rotation Scavenging Ooze/Voice of Resurgence deck, and this girl fits right in! Just gotta add a Trostani or two in there...

I'm hoping that there will be more solid lifegain cards in M14. Perhaps Ajani's Chosen?

Its got a lot of potential. Even when decks adapt to it, which is what happens with every good card, its still gonna be a pain in the ass...lol. There are a few cards that can negate it entirely but they are far and few in between and would still require the temporary loss of tempo. I imagine your gonna be causing some head aches with it.

Yep i did i went 6-0 Friday night every time i dropped one my op said **** at the end of the night i played a nice b/w control player almost made him cry after side bored because i drew in to my 4 root bounds i sided in

I have nothing against that. I mean I struggled mightily with whether or not to buy VoR. It looks like it'll be a fun card to play with. I just don't have a deck that justified its cost at $60. I certainly cannot justify it now.

Maverick is certainly a place I look for it to make an appearance.

I know what you your saying I look at vor and think its at least 3 for 1 because if they kill it on my turn i get two tokens and get rid of one of their kill spells that could take out one of my bigger threats and if they wait to kill it on their turn besides pillar im forcing them to alter their play style which is an advantage in its own rite, gets rid of a kill spell and i get token. I know its not an actual 3 for 1 but any edge counts Wink

No its not. FoW is an iconic card that is the axis of one the elder formats. I'm happy that you have the disposable income to spend on cards. It is a nice luxury to have. I really don't know why you felt you needed to buy VoR though. Standard player?

I play standard, modern, legacy, vintage, and edh so im planning on playing vor in most of those except vintage. going to try vor in maverick.
just trying to say if you want a card you buy or trade for the card.

I just got back into magic took a 3 month break so ii had to pay 160 for a play set so what if you want the card buy if you can afford it. Don't say its not worth it. Its like saying fow is a over priced uncommon that only sees play in one format

Its life you live to die. From the day you are born you start dying you can prolong it but you cant stop it. So you have to except it that one day you will stop living. Most religions believe that there is an after life so they have some something to look forward to.

Man with Down Syndrome Dies While in Police Custody; Medical Examiner Rules the Death a Homicide

Man with Down Syndrome Dies While in Police Custody; Medical Examiner Rules the Death a Homicide

The death of a Maryland man with Down syndrome who was in police custody following his arrest inside a local movie theater has been ruled a homicide by the Baltimore County Medical Examiner's office.

Robert Saylor of New Market and a health aide had just finished watching Zero Dark Thirty at the Regal Cinemas Westview Stadium 16 on the night of January 12th, when Saylor requested to see it again.

Theater employees refused to allow the 26-year-old to see the movie again and told him he had to buy another ticket or leave.

When he wouldn't budge, an employee called 911.

Three deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene, and attempted to physically remove Saylor from the movie theater.

According to Cpl. Jennifer Bailey, Saylor became belligerent and began to curse at the deputies, prompting them to arrest him for resisting arrest.

He was placed in handcuffs and, according to a law enforcement source who spoke with WJLA, "was put face down on the ground."

At that point Saylor reportedly began to experience a "medical emergency." The deputies removed the handcuffs and rushed Saylor to the hospital, but he was pronounced DOA.

The official cause of death was found to be asphyxia.

According to the Frederick News-Post, all three deputies who responded to the movie theater call — Lt. Scott Jewell, Sgt. Rich Rochford and Deputy First Class James Harris — remain on regular duty.

Cpl. Bailey told the News-Post that the deputies could be put on administrative leave "as more information becomes available."

The Frederick County State's Attorney Charlie Smith similarly hasn't made a decision concerning his office's pursuit of charges against the deputies involved.

"If there is sufficient evidence there, we will make that decision and notify the sheriff's office," said Smith. "We have an obligation to the victim, as well as to the police officers, to make sure our investigation is thorough and complete."

Saylor's mother, meanwhile, challenged the deputies' claim that her son was being aggressive.

"He has never had anyone put their hands on him in their life," Patti Saylor told ABC 7. "He would not have been doing anything threatening to anybody."

The police officers remain on duty and were allowed to invoke their rights as police officers not to provide statements even though they were not on duty or performing official duties at the time. They were security guards in police uniforms.

    Is this true?
I'm getting two different stories here.
They were cops, but they were off duty? They were not cops at all, but were security guards in police uniforms.

    could you be more specific?

    what do i think?
i think the death was accidental and unfortunate. do i think it could have been handled better? yes. should disciplinary action be taken against the officials present? depends, but not neccesarily.

they were off duty cops working as security guards . there has been a rash of accidents that been attributed to cops.

Seen this on face book what do you guys think.

On January 14, 2013, a young man with Down syndrome went with his companion to see Zero Dark Thirty at the Regal Cinema in Frederick, MD. At the end of the movie, apparently because he wanted to see it again, he refused to get out of his seat. A Regal employee, rather than allowing him to stay and dealing with the situation later with his parents and the companion, called not one, not two, but three off duty Frederick County police officers who were working security for the theater at the time.

According to published reports, when the officers/ security guards asked him to leave, he mouthed off at them and “resisted arrest”. Those of you who know my son Landon can visualize what this would look like. In response, the officers wrestled him to the ground where he asphyxiated in handcuffs. The handcuffs were removed and EMS called and according to the police news release he later died at hospital. I don’t know how that reconciles with the coroner’s finding of asphyxiation which I thought was pretty immediate.

The price of a ticket at the cinema is between $9 and $11. The additional cost to Regal of allowing him to watch the movie again was ZERO. But instead a beloved young man died on the floor of a movie theater in his neighborhood at the hands of people he was taught would protect him.

The police officers remain on duty and were allowed to invoke their rights as police officers not to provide statements even though they were not on duty or performing official duties at the time. They were security guards in police uniforms.

The county police are investigating and the story has received local news coverage. Please share this everywhere both to ensure justice but also to raise public awareness.

Where is our humanity when a young, obviously disabled young man dies for the price of a movie ticket? My son is worth a lot more to me & society than eleven dollars.

Well first of all there are jobs that men excel at and there are jobs that women excel at.

I've seen a construction worker quit at McDonalds after an hour because he said it was to hard of work yet there was older woman that has worked there for 25 years because she had to raise her son by herself because her dead beat husband did not want to help because her son was developmental disabled and he did not pay child support either .

That's what I'm saying. The N word is worse. That was my point.

In some ways its worse than others but it depends on the person knowing if their getting insulted or not.

these are examples: If two grown men with out any handicaps are fist fighting would you step in and stop them?

now if you see a grown beating the crap out of a disabled person would you step in and try to stop it ?

my point is some people cant defend their selves that's why some insults are worse than others.

Did you just imply that N- is worse than cracker because African Americans are somehow weaker or inferior to white Americans?

No read my earlier posts. I was talking about people insulting individual's with developmental disabilities. No cracker is not the same as the N-word.
The n-word has been used to de humanize a race of humans. cracker is a term to remind us white people what our ancestors did to theirs.

I am fully guaranteed the right to say whatever the hell i can think of (so long as i'm not looking to incite violence) under my countrys constitution.

But should someone use that right to use hateful, derogatory speech? Yes, Americans are legally allowed to be hateful *******s if they so choose, but is that a moral choice to make?

It's not up to *you* to decide what *other people* can or cannot say.

I dare you to go down to south central L.A and shouting your guaranteed right to say those slang or insulating words directed at a group of people who might find some slangs offensive and see what happens :p

And Busmetz, I dare you to go to LA and scream at the very same people when one of them says "******". Because apparently you've done it before in defense of the language, correct?

I actually have talked to some African American's about that. They told me it 's a way the greet friends of the same race. they only find it insulting if a white man used it. and we all know why
