Being Bolt-costed more often than not in burn means even if it isn't main decked, it probably makes a side-board cut just in case you need the extra removal/last few hits in on their dome.
Who would be a better commander for an all-creatures Gruul EDH deck, her or Ruric Thar?
Gonna say her.
Going from Turn 4-5 to turn 10-12 with a single creature is a pretty beefy allowance on casting. She's also not going to draw the level of ire Ruric 'smash your face for instants' Thar would.
If X is 0, then it’d be like spending RR and two cards to draw three cards. I’d most definitely pay more.
I wouldn't aim for doing that outside of being in a really bad way (or you've already got a Snapcaster on hand to do it again).
Or, in my case, I already run Ancestral in Wanderer, and if I cascade into Electrodominance I'd happily do zero damage to bin Ancestral for three cards to hand (over waiting four turns).
She gets a shock then dies and then you cast this.
Don't bank on this, but if you hit her with the damage from this, I think the free spell goes off fine due to the text order of the card. Cause she dead.
I'm basing the order and rules on this from the likes of Baral's Expertise.
Huh. since when red or green take off counters from creatures others than themselves? I tought that was a monoblack feature.
Shapers of Nature, Zameck Guildmage have done it in green-not-black (and ooze flux, which isn’t a creature but makes one out of counters on other creatures). But it def seems more simic than gruul.
Removing the counter to deal damage makes it Gruul.
It might be constructed playable if Wizards made a cheap effective on color untapper (probably an equipment or something) so you can just machine gun +1/+1s into shocks to the dome.
But given that's highly unlikely this is just to let a deck screw up combat math (Your 2/2 with a +1/+1 on it now trades with their 4/4 if you do this, but you can also have your 3/3 trade with their 5/5 if use the +1/+1 counter against that) and take out dorks and utility creatures that would never be sent to block while you're in limited. He does his job, when you don't have a better answer.
They kind of are seeing as She is supposedly the one who kills Ghost Dad. But... nothing about this card signifies her ability to kill ghosts like.. at all. idk. From a flavor standpoint she just feels off.
Exiling Creatures from the 'yard is 'killing the dead' if there isn't some creature token created. Which is on flavor with her abilities (a bit more than her initial card is). But her -1 and Ultimate only really tie in with the 'super dead matters' theme? So they do feel quite off.
There was the question of what happens to the Obzedat in the Kaya thread, and Teysa's flavor text seems to answer that question, since the Obzedat was the previous Orzhov guildmaster.
I just assumed that if a Planeswalker who has a gimmick of 'kill ghosts' is in town, the local Ghosts in Charge would get the exact same treatment Brago did.

Same goes for Overload spells.

Still a weird call for a card unless you just- creature wipe right after?
Green = +1/+1 is resource.
Red = TO THE DOME!

...I kinda wanna do that now... (I, too, am a bad person.)
