Looking at pre-release versus release drafts, I don't have much desire to pay a premium to do drafts where 2/3 of it is Theros. I'm going to wait for the triple Born of the Gods draft.
Did you do triple dragon's maze? Small sets are terrible on their own.
My friend thinks about this, and agrees. No way he's giving up his bomb.
How is your friend not reading his cards the opponents fault?
According to your quote, he knows what tribute does and agreed to pay the tribute. His opponent didn't just sneak the counters on without giving him a choice.
Here is a similar scenario. You have 2 life and your opponent has 2 life, you have a voidmage prodigy and a grizzly bears on board. You swing for 4. As a last ditch effort, your opponent taps and says "I cast lightning bolt, take 3?" You look at your hand and see no counterspells so you agree with your opponent, and accept defeat.
Is it cheating to see if someone will forget their on-board counterspell? No way. Bad manners maybe, but not cheating.
Doubt it just because that would be weird. I think the most likely thing is a set, sold in booster packs, that's meant to be drafted. Like Modern Masters, but with a focus on the types of cards that appeal to Planechase, Commander, and Archenemy fans.
Except multiplayer cards would make a terrible draft format.
Time is a serious factor in competitive MTG. Time is the reason why so many draws exist/has to to exist -- you can't go "well, you have to play until someone wins/loses, draws aren't allowed". Doubling the time required to complete a tournament makes the problem worse, not better.
I don't really know how to do the math, but i'm pretty sure double elim is faster than 12 rounds of swiss with top 8.
*A female player is dominant for a few years getting multiple top 8s while also contributing to the community.
*Said player gets voted in.

It will happen when it happens. I don't see any point in trying to force the issue. Are there any hall of famers that are native to Madagascar? Do we need to promote harder in the south african market to encourage one of them to make it to the hall of fame in 2075?
It's your own fault for not putting your foot down and demanding it back more than once. Cards don't go down $30-$40 overnight. I don't think you should get what the card was worth before.
If it was someone you can't 100% trust, get some collateral or don't loan it at all.
I agree with this. Doing nothing for multiple months while the price drops is your own fault. Just accept whatever he's offering and act smarter in the future.
Contrary to what everyone says, getting a bad hand doesn't mean you need to "shuffle better." Random distribution includes the god hands and the terrible ones. Everyone has to deal with running bad from time to time.
If I was the Dad and I couldn't provide financial compensation, I would have handed over his whole collection to you.
This is the best option IMO. Explain to the father that he can't find your stuff because the son traded it for other cards and you will accept those other cards as compensation.
Trying to go to court or w/e will just make the situation worse for everyone.
Sorted by attendance numbers the top 5 GPs were limited, modern, limited, limited, legacy. 3/5 limited.
If you look at the top 20 GPs you get 15 limited, 2 standard, 2 legacy, 1 modern.
Interpret that as you will.

They need to either phase it out or make it viable.

I like this new art much better than the original, but I would still think Gleam of Battle should have been helix.
This isn't a matter of equality. HoF has to be earned, its not a decision anyone makes.
