    Hello!
I was wondering if anyone familiar with TCGplayer's Direct opening entry prizes could help me maximizing my chance for free cards.
I am going to be buying some cards from Khans and was wondering how entries are spread out.
-Does buying 4 copies of a card at once net me 4 entries or only one?
-If I order each one and then go to checkout do I get 4?
-Do multiple cards from the same seller count as one entry?
-Do multiple cards from different sellers count as the same entry if I buy them all at once?

If anyone could clarify this for me I would love you!
If your not familiar with what Im talking about heres a link to TCG's players promotion page:
Any advice would be very much appreciated! Grin

I was wondering if anyone had a recent list of any deck utilizing pw like Kiora, Ajani Steadfast, Elspeth, Nissa while having the control aspect that cards like dissolve, supreme verdict and detention sphere provide.

    Hello!

I left magic back around the release of the 2014 core set. I was wondering if there was a site that could help get me up to date on the limited formats, the standard meta and changes to modern.

yeah, because no card from rtr looks like it comes from innistrad. cough

Well to be fair Kamigawa did have a very distinct art style that isnt really comparable to any other recent magic set whereas Innistrad and Ravnica are both worlds set in a typical fantasy settings. (Albeit one is more Dungeon-Punk and the other is extremely Gothic in nature.)

As for the original topic: just give us Cephalids if your going to print like 4 random blue tribal cards that have no place in the world. The straight up ignoring of Agyrem is probably my biggest issue with RtR. (That and the fact that were given a new non-human planeswalker and get nothing except a back-story.)

Urgh, I hate the obligatory good guy wins endings. Just like I'm starting to hate the inevitable bad guy wins endings too. Let the goblins win for once!

This is why Im rooting for Lazav. I mean Dimir isnt even bad per say when the "good" guild everyone is rooting for is a nature loving cult that is starting to take up arms. I mean realistically its not like once he achieves supreme rule over the guilds he would stop working in secret.

Then again a Fblthp wins ending would make my day.

If you want a comparable warrior look at Gideon.

It's highly unlikely that Wizards would end the block with the guilds being destroyed, too much open ended.

Because Dissesion didn't end with the entire Guildpact falling apart, multiple Paruns dead and several guilds in shambles. No offense but WOTC isn't known for tying up loose ends.

Isn't a reason for Rakdos not running the race is due to the fact he's in a coma like state for weeks at a time?

Makes more sense than any other possibility considering our directed flavor text is split between the maze and the gateless.

I'd say that Scars and original Mirrodon walk a lot closer to the Scifi than other blocks, it's possible to have an artifact heavy set and still have it rooted in fantasy. The entire Brother's War, Thran, and the Phyrexian war was definitely in the fantasy section.

I get what you're saying though, there's definitely moments that do feel like MtG's trying to have a bit of both. Most of what Venser did in Spiral is really close to Scifi. I'd say Ravnica's a lot closer to fantasy though, albeit with a urbanisation twist. Old Rav's closer (slightly) to Scifi with the Old-Simic and their grafting though.

Ravnica is dungeon punk which is kinda in demand as far as you go for settings considering it can be gritty and stick true to many fantasy settings. As for MTG they tend to just rotate out of subsets of fantasy with just certain persistent themes that keep the whole story together. I personally am a fan of the game's lore everything post Weatherlight (Its not I thought that it was bad I just wasn't there for it.) and that they are able to deliver cohesive story arcs while consistently rotating the themes of the cards.

True. Three gorgons, one called Medusa and she was the only one able to turn people into stone, I believe (it has been a while, maybe I should refresh my Greek mythology for Theros, or just for fun).

Anyway, it at least points to that Wizards will change Greek mythology to fit their set. Or else you can only have 1 (legendary) minotaur and pegasus, only 3 gorgons and (I think) sirens, only wild barbaric centaurs and satyrs, etc. The original Greek mythology is quite different from what we actualy expect and is not directly suitable for magic, which is no problem as they can (and will) adapt it, so it is suitable.

3 Gorgons all of them able to turn people to stone and actually quite a bit more humanoid in appearance with actual legs and a pair of golden wings if you follow the most prominent translations to Perseus's tale. The one exception to Medusa was she was Posiedon's actual lover and was the only one who could be killed by mortal means. (Hermes enchanted blade that he gifted to Perseus.)

As for the whole Kraken debate, greek mythology did have sparse interactions with giant sea monsters. The only two stories you might have heard off the top of my head that include them are the fable Illiad and the myth regarding Cassiopeia. As for creature type WOTC will probably just go with whatever they use now for big stupid islandwalking mythics.

As for what I want: Cephalids (It will never happen and doesn't make sense for the set but it would make for such a fun meta with the combination of threshold and Dimir's mill antics.)

I just wanted to comment on Teysa being the one "running" the maze for Orzhov. IIRC, isn't there some kind of downside for the long lives the Orzhovs have or for enhancing their lifespans?
Doesn't she have a crippled leg since birth because of that (that's why she is depicted with the walking cane?)... and if so (looking at her first cards which looks as if the guy is supporting her while she is standing) isn't she a rather bad choice? Isn't it like the rabbit vs turtle fable? (Not implying that she must be the winner or anything)

I just can't imagine, her without help, walking the path (part of it depicted in the spoiled Jace artwork) in less than double the time other participants would need for it... afaik she didn't have some kind of magic spell that helped her walking/moving/floating?

While I haven't read the secretist and am at an obvious disadvantage to what running the maze actually entails, I had imagined it less like an actual foot race and more of a trial from the trailers depiction. What this signaled to me was the Ghost Council hedging their bets by either winning the maze by sending in one of their most capable (In terms of guile not pure manpower) people or by eliminating someone who represented a possible threat to their power. (Tesya does have a dislike of the Ghost Council and this seems right up Orzhov's alley.)

I am really sad that Dimir's champion was given any actual spotlight considering it seems more likely that he will now just show up at the end of the maze and get foiled. It would have been interesting to see the guild that was completely demolished the first go around come back and claim some prominence or reward from the maze.

Can someone actually inform me of what the actual maze reward is? I know it was set up by the original Azor as a failsafe for the Guildpact but does it basically reinforce similar rules as before but leaving someone in a higher state command to oversee the other guilds?

Without retreading my ten-dozen arguments about why Cloudpost isn't a problem, I just want to point out that Fissure Post has risen to the point of pulling equal share with :symur:Post, and I hope it takes over the format so we can finally ban Temporal Fissure and be done with it.

While all your arguments point to Cloudpost not being overly abusive you still have to compare it to other banned cards. Was Empty the Warrens a better card than Cloudpost? Was it truly a bigger problem than Cloudpost is now.

I mean Grixis storm didn't really have too much a leg up on any other deck and didnt drag the game if it lost whereas both Cloudpost and Faeries are miserable decks to play against.

Is this deck what you would call daily event worthy? I've been getting dominated by it the last week or so (I play WW). It looks fun to play to me. I was going to put together Elves but I'm told its a glass canon. Is this deck anymore resilient?

Yeah I was wondering this too considering I play affinity and seem to never be able to beat the deck.

While Gruul and Rakdos are against the guildless in terms of the white majority affiliation they do morally stand with the movement in one sense, they want less order. I mean while they are still "guilds" they stand for more of an ideal than actual organizations more so than any guild, one in the sense of an aggressive Selesnya aimed at retaking the world and the other focused in an attempt to spread as much chaos and discord in hopes of pleasing their Parun. (Golgari is also totally safe considering they have like 0 malicious intent in any of their current cards outside of Vraska and her backstory.)

Selesnya though I do see getting some storyline action just since they are hinted at amassing forces. Whether this is to quell the gateless/izzet or start amassing forces for actual conflict. If any conflict plays out with the green non-simic guilds I definitely see it in the rubblebelt considering we still got the adage of Big B.'s age with no real story impact yet and considering that Gruul sees Selesyna as inferior. (Look at disciple flavor text.)
