Wanting to put together a discard matters deck for the new Standard. Flameblade Adept is one of my new favorite cards ever. This isn't set in stone by any means, just a strong launching point for ideas and improvements. Please let me know what you think. The deck already had good counter play against 4c Copycat and Mardu Vehicles. The sideboard has extra utility vs those decks to bring the match home as well. Lemme know what'cha think!
What does Dauntless Escort protect from? The sweepers I usually see are -1/-1 based instead of a "destroy" or damage effect. I have yet to have someone cast Anger of the Gods or Pyroclasm on me, but I can picture that being a real card in TL. If that's the case, Burrenton Forge-Tender could do well in its place.
If you're in it for combat, Putrid Leech is actually pretty good at pushing damage through.
@WizardMN - Well crap. I feel dumb. At least I can just jam Phyrexian Arena into the deck now.
@Greatlubu - I want the extra toughness too though. However I do understand that auras are inherently bad. I might just run Sword of Light and Shadow. Pseudo lifegain, relevant protections, and possible recursion.
Yeah, I know i'm a bit short on draw. That's why I have Tainted Pact which can usually draw you a new hand without losing life which is pretty strong. Also, Abzan Charm can provide cards in a pinch. If keeping the gas flowing proves to be a problem I will definitely be making room for Phyrexian Arena.
Mainly putting up a list in order to keep the thoughts in my own head straight. Though, please feel free to share your thoughts. This list is more weighted towards being Abzan Aggro rather than straight up control or a blend of the two.
I found a list online, playtested it, and updated it to my meta/liking. Please let me know what y'all think. It's been working fairly well (approx 75% win ratio) stumbling only when mana screwed or when facing an incredibly fast opponent with a sub-optimum hand to face that. That doesn't happen too often though.
Sensei's Top doesn't really work as she exiles the top four cards, and Sensei's only messes with the top three.
Most of the cards on my quick little list should be obvious, but Vedalken Orrery/Leyline are good so you can cast auras onto Narset mid-combat. Proteus staff is on the list in case you go with a "0 creature" Narset list...and it's insane. Swing, trigger Narset, Proteus Staff Narset in resp, Proteus goes through entire deck and puts Narset onto battlefield out of combat, then resolve Staff's ability and put your entire deck in any order, resolve Narset's combat trigger allowing you to cast any four cards in your library as you had just previously stacked your deck, then opponent enters scoop phase.
I am very excited for this General. I have been a long time America fan, and I finally have the General to make it hurt!
I'm working on a 5c buid with only Slivers and a couple Chord of Calling and it looks promising.
I am interested to see your build though, so please post it here when you get it made. I appreciate the feedback and the looks at your guys' decks. Keep it coming!!
Yeah, I don't think I would go 5c on the deck as I have Sliver Hive and Mana Confluence to make sure I can play Sliver Hivelord reliably and I feel that the slivers in the other colors don't really add anything that this build needs. The point of staying Naya is that it's way more aggressive. There are a lot of two mana slivers in here so if you play different ones instead of multiple copies, it should help againt Bile Blight and such in the early game. If I go aggressive, I have a much better chance of winning. I can also lean on the deathtouch/first strike trick I think I could maintain. Sliver Hivelord could theoretically come down turn 3 in this deck. Domri Rade and Signal the Clans also help out a lot to keep the Slivers out there. Thorncaster Sliver in conjunction with Venom Sliver is a boardwipe on the attack. So yeah, like I said, I feel like aggresive is definitely the way to go especially since limting your self to this strategy means you're more effciently gettting your colors and less non-sliver spells makes Sliver Hive that much better.
I feel like the best colors for slivers after M15 comes out would be WRG. Take a look and help me tweak the list? Venom Sliver does work with First/Double Strike and when Thorncaster comes down, it's like a Sliver board wipe. I figured one Aurelia could make it's way in as an agressive finisher, especially since she'll untap any slivers you used as mana to cast her, to swing in the second combat. Non-creature spells and lands are pretty self explanitory. Maybe too many Mutavaults? I'm not sure. Any input is appreciated.
Big fan of the 'Fervorous' list BigH. I used your list almost card for card...added a few pet cards and made cuts for cost purposes, but love the list. I was just wondering. Is there anything in Journey Into Nyx that you have your eye on for Prossh at all?

Venasaur, Blastoise, or Charizard in Commander form.
Aside from the lack of creativity regarding naming (Power Converter/Network), the card itself is good. Strong even, when included in the decks it would find itself in. 7/10

I do like the idea of amnesia, and you're right. It's hard to balance at one spell to one card. Short-Term Memoir is a great satb at it though. 8/10
Next: A creature with Amensia.

If Sealer Sphinx would deal combat damage to an opponent, that player puts that many cards from the top of his or her library into his or her graveyard instead.

Ironically the same can be said of this. It works, not particularly exciting though. 7/10
I actually made this card just between friends a while ago before I started out on these Custom Card Creation forums, and i've been waiting to submit it. It mills, maybe not as strongly on the mill theme....but I believe awesome nonetheless. As a bonus, it sports a custom mechanic that we came up with. I have a render for it that looks amazing but alas, I can't find the artist to credit...so I can't post that too. Anyways....the card.

Dauntless Escort is in as I have a Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest tempo deck in my meta and I can get blown out by Mystical Tutor + Bonfire of the Damned or Anger of the Gods as you said. I like Dauntless because he can box pretty well instead of just being Sweeper protection. Also, Dauntless is good if I want to protect a high value card. Abrupt Decay my Brimaz, King of Oreskos? Kill Dauntless Escort instead.
Also, I chose Lotleth Troll over Putrid Leech due to it's resiliency.
@Greatlubu - I want the extra toughness too though. However I do understand that auras are inherently bad. I might just run Sword of Light and Shadow. Pseudo lifegain, relevant protections, and possible recursion.
