Sacrifice, sac a creature and gain B equal to its manacost.
I forgot about Sacrifice specifically but I was looking at cards like Burnt Offering, obviously not playable with red mana symbols on the card, Soldevi Adnate and Culling the Weak and wasn't sure if they are playable when most of the creatures I will be playing except for a few will be low CMC. Sure, Culling the Weak turns a low CMC creature into a lot of mana but the rest only generate mana equal to the CMC which will not be a lot with most of the creatures.
One set of cards none of you mentioned that would be great are the small ones that can sacrifice themselves to add mana, like Blood Pet or Basal Thrull. Not only can they enable earlier Massacres if you need them, they can also help set off the chains themselves .
Not a bad idea. I like both of them and will test them out. I completely forgot about them until you mentioned them.
Edit: Basal Sliver and Blood Vassal fit in this category as well but at 3 CMC I don't think it is worth it.
Update: Here is a new list of the cards that I want to play that work specifically with Massacre Girl. This list also include kill spells and other generally good cards in black that I know I want to play as well.
The best way to generate fodder for her is Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder. At a minimum, when you cast Massacre Girl with Endrek Sahr in play, the 5 Thrulls and Endrek Sahr will die along with anything else with toughness 7 or less.
How did I forget about Revel in Riches? Might as well win the game (or at least profit) if you're going to clear the board.
Revel in Riches seems great, I just don't know if it will end up being more than an alt wincon for 5 mana that gets destroyed before my upkeep. Sure, it produces a good amount of mana with its treasures but even Black Market producing mana every turn seems better to me at 5 mana.
Based on all your suggestions here is what I have come up with for a preliminary list. Not a full 100 but cards I know I want to try not including the kill spells and draw I will play.
Genesis Chamber seems like it could be really interesting. Fill the board with lil 1/1:s that get killed all the time and helps fuel massacre girls ability.
Hey, I like it. Funny I didn't think about it when one of my favorite commanders is Norin the Wary.
Great suggestions. I love the idea of Oversold Cemetery. I'm not so sure about Palace Siege since it costs 5 mana but I think it's worth testing. I need to get a copy, but Diabolic Intent is a definite include.
I want to make a Massacre Girl deck when [WAR] cards come out on April 25. I know I want to make it a mono black control deck based around having the board be kept clear with her ability. I already have ideas for what kill spells and other pieces of control I want to play in this deck.
My question that I am seeking help with is what creatures are worth playing in this deck and what cards are really good that will take advantage of Massacre Girl always killing things or being wincons when she is the only creature staying in play?
Since Zurgo has been banned in Duel Commander it looks like people who want to play this deck have gone back to playing a thirty life format such as Leviathan Commander or MTGO 1v1. I have been exclusively playing this deck in leviathan commander at my local shop since duel commander switched to 20 life and I was wondering what your thoughts are on a couple of cards.
First, what are your thoughts on Mox Amber in a 30 life format vs. a 20 life format. It seems good but I worry it's not proactive enough. I haven't picked one up yet for testing because I'm not sure it's good enough for what it is currently priced at.
The second card I want to address is Goblin Chainwhirler. I love the design and art of the card but I'm not sure if it's too weak for this format unlike how it's a powerhouse in standard. I'm currently testing it in place of Keldon Champion as it comes down a turn earlier, has first strike, does not have echo, and hits opponents' creatures and planeswalkers. The downside I forsee is that it doesn't do as much immediate damage as the Keldon Champion.
The last card I want to address is Ahn-Crop Crasher. I like that it has haste and a way to make opponents creatures not block but in a 30 life format like leviathan I feel like exert keeping it tapped for a turn is a huge downside.
Now looking ahead to Core Set 19 there are a few cards that might be good.
I think Lightning Mare has potential. It can't be countered and it can't be blocked by blue creatures so its solid against blue control, has 3 power on a 2 drop, and can pump itself. I don't like that it has only 1 toughness.
Viashino Pyromancer could be decent as it is a 2 power 2 drop that does at least 4 damage over the course of a game. I don't like that it has only 1 toughness, no haste and the etb effect can't hit creatures.
Volley Veteran could be good as a second Flametongue Kavu if you play enough goblins, which I think I do. I think the effect is good, I just don't know if I need more than one of this effect as it cost 4 mana.
I know that this thread hasn't gotten a lot of traction for a long while but I thought it would be fun to show off my Omnath, Locus of Mana foil deck. The pictures are taken with my phone and this is my first time taking pictures of a deck so they are a little blurry but I think they can be seen well enough. I hope you all enjoy it.
It is really bothering me that you are not running both Doubling Season and Primal vigor (you just have 1/4 doublers (and since yo are not running whit you can only get at most 3/4)
maybe also run thallid Soothsayer Gets you card draw for your saprolings that may have blocked and will end up dying anyway.
I'm not currently playing Doubling Season due to not having one and it costing around $60 U.S. currently. I decided against playing Primal Vigor since it helps my opponents and I don't feel I need more than two of the token doubling effects, though I may be underestimating the need for multiple token doublers.
On the topic of Thallid Soothsayer, I think its too expensive to cast and activate to be worth it, especially since I have a lot of draw already in the deck.
Cool. Thanks for all the information. Your description of the spore counter cards makes me think I may have to try them out, especially if I add in Rishkar, Peema Renegade. Now I just have to figure out what I take out for them.
One other question. As this deck is not based on having a lot of big creatures to sac to mill yourself and then your opppents like a traditional reanimator deck, beside what you said in your last post, how good has Altar of Dementia been for you over any other free sac outlet?
Your list looks interesting. Yours looks more like a straight up tokens deck where mine is more an attrition deck. Couple of questions. First, how have all the cards that create saprolings with spore counters been? Second, how has Fungal Sprouting been for you? Currently I'm testing Sprout Swarm in its place as it takes a large creature on board to get any value out of Fungal Sprouting, though I like its power in the late game and its artwork.

I do want to try Pitiless Plunderer and Palace Siege I just forgot to put them on my list. I like your suggestion of Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder, though I do worry about having too many enablers at 5 CMC.

Also, I was looking up when creatures die cards on Gatherer and came across these cards that have not been mentioned yet: Shriveling Rot, Sadistic Glee, Eternal Thirst, Dingus Staff, and Demon of Dark Schemes.

This is great. I din't think about the idea of playing my own 1-toughness creatures to start the death chain myself.
