I don't think it is dying down, in fact it is becoming more popular. At my LGS we get new people every week and we have a stong play group that plays stricly just EDH.
If I have built a new deck, I usually start off with that. I try to see how they fare against the better decks in my playgroup so I know how to tweek them. Than slowly go through my fine tuned decks, than depending on the amount of time left I play my best deck Azami.
With the Call to the Grave ability on the stac, he can choose to sac the elder. He would draw the card and search for the lands. But once the elder is saced, he must choose another legal target.
I have experienced that lately. I have not had the time to make/update my decks. So as I am playing, I notice most of my decks are slower and can not handle the new card. Once I have some time to update my decks I feel I will be back into the swing of things.
It is another green utlity card. It can be useful if your playgroup plays targeted land destruction or allow you to steal someone's land you destroyed.
I would say it would most likely involve alot of bounce spells to not allow them to benefit from the card they put into play. I would play the eldrazi and other big blue creatures.
It depends on the purpose of your deck. If you want to play it as a counter deck, just play as many counters as you can.
In my Azami deck I run
Force of Will
Hinder
Spell Crumple
Plus I use patron wizard and wizard prodigy as creature counters.
I would suggest usinng counters that tuck and exile the spell. Unless you want to have a good laugh, I would not use any counters that require a person to pay an additional x mana to let it resolve.
I agree that the boxes are to expensive, considering you are getting 12 less packs. But that is wizards fault for not enforcing a price upon the stores. Unless you pull a foil goyf, chances are you will never get the full value of the box back. Almost all the places I know that are getting it are doing a draft. So bascilly everyone is going to rare draft. I like the idea of modern masters, but by making it a limited product, it will keep prices high and not follow the intent of making it possible for more people to get into modern.
