I like the resonator a lot as it works with a huge number of triggers of the deck. We can abuse Chainer even more by stealing ETB creatures. It can double a lot of our draw engines. With grave pact it could be awesome.
I'm not sure about the demon's drawback. It feels incompatible with Chainer.
Grim return is a Chainer activation with no life loss. It feels meh but I might be wrong.
Dark prophecy might be good but I'd need to test it. It feels a lot worse than Phyrexian Arena.

With all the tutors, what is the first couple of pieces that we should look for? Obviously it depends on your starting hand and on what your opponents play. Personally I like to get around 6 mana generators then card drawing engines. Does that sound right?
On a side note, I picked up caged sun and all is dust as well as fleshbag marauder. I will continue updating the deck overtime.
Oh and one last thing. How do you like sadistic hypnotist as a sac outlet?
Wow terrific post Throst. It will take some time to study all your suggestions and our decklist. Cost is not so much of an issue for me because I plan on building this incrementaly overtime.
One question though. Do you have enough lifegain in there to counteract all the "pain" effects?
I need some help with my Chainer build. I've only played with the deck a few times so I don't know yet what should stay/leave. For now I'm mostly looking to improve its consistency. My meta is slivers, vorel counters and intet. There are a few cards I want to cut but I'll see if they match your suggestions
Good thread. I have a similar deck and posters above already did a good part of the analysis so I won't repeat it all. The only piece that is missing from my testing is Flesh // Blood only for the blood part. I won a few games where I would play ghor-clan on dreg mangler, swing, and blood for lethal. It is also good to clear out blockers and synergizes well with rancor and spike jester. One last thing, falkenrath is hard to stop so tragic slip in the side is a good idea.
I'm playing a similar deck too. For me, Dungeon Geist is really good at stalling a threat + pushing damage through after a t3 lingering. I also like running a lot of removal (orzhov charm, devour flesh, dsphere) to avoid getting overrun early. I don't play in highly competitive environments so take all of this with a grain of salt.
I'm also having some fun with Obzedat + Ajani (cast it, pop the -3) for a 12 damage in 1 turn swing.
