the new 'your lands tap for any color' one is obviously going to be a chase card.
is there any way we could have the tokens as attachments like the actual cards? that's a lot of scrolling for the part of the deck fewer people care about, when the cards themselves are small
it's not broken, but after the initial 6 mana over 2 turns, it can rip through as much sac fodder as you want for free and leave a nice bonus on the last one. I know it is immediately going in my aristocrats deck. not busted, not something that is going to turn into a problem, but a very solid roleplayer and staple in certain kinds of decks
oh look, Grand Abolisher. the one they went more than 10 years without printing, then use to sell two different expensive products and print 3 times in a year.
i'm all for reprints, but back to back reprints, with the more expensive products first, feels bad man. spread it out to in-demand cards that haven't been printed in a while, give them one good reprint and leave them alone for a while.
Tapped copy AND once per turn? Why are they so determined to not let cards in the last couple sets do silly things? Remove the once a turn restriction and it still only turns into a problem a full turn AFTER someone else is already being a problem
Sometimes, I feel magic has become a parody of itself. Loan shark is a card that would fit in an unset, but in an official set? A land grubbing shark? How does that makes any sense? It's not even a simic mutant or hybrid, which at least made some sense in the past.
Maro has mentioned a couple times that he is a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, a couple of the characters were even on cards back in the day. I'm going to choose to take this as a deliberate Buffy reference from when they did the exact same thing, instead of them forgetting about it and thinking this was actually funny by itself.
It's been a hot minute since we've gotten another Entomb. At three mana and sorcery *just* for that effect will probably not be good still but hey, we got another Entomb.
getting the Reanimate stapled on to the same card makes it a lot more tempting. 4 mana limit is no ideal, but I can still think of a ton of good option for it, especially when it can be two creatures. I don' think it will be broken, but all sorts of Muldrotha and toolbox decks will want it. I like this one a lot.
Yeeeaaaah, we're getting into the territory where the story kind of falls apart. I can buy some of the characters being here, but some are just very forced. Why is Rakdos here? Eriette? Satoru? Gisa and Geralf? Even Breeches and Malcolm are such random inclusions.
Kaervec only works until you realize that he probably wouldn't join such a "small time crime" team given his power and ambition before he was imprisoned. It's like putting Bolas here, or Baron Sengir. I do have to say I actually enjoy the idea that he uses archaic speech, but that's just a little gimmick.
Yeah, that doesn't add up. Ashiok is paying for the heist? What does they have that RAKDOS and KAERVEK would want?
This looks like "lets get rando bad guys in a western scenario..." Next city they're gonna find Emrakul using spurs on each of her tentacles, and the Raven Man as a corrupt deputy marshall...
And another thing: the vault they're gonna rob is the one thing older than the Omenpaths on the entire plane... does this means the plan is only 3 years old? I mean, where the hell all the cities and structures came from? They mention a city that is already in decadence for lack of money... IN THREE YEARS?
I don't know what the writers will go with, most of the time my headcanons and fanfiction end up being more interesting than the actual story (goes for a lot of us) but it was a thought I had when I first learned about planeswalkers back in 2010. Omenpaths are a thing now, but most people are still limited in the planes they can go to, right? Rakdos can't just go to any plane he wants. Maybe there is some resource, a metal, an element that is rare or non-existent on Ravnica, but Ashiok as a Planeswalker has access to a world where it is plentiful. A lot of people would be very interested in dark steel, or cosmium, or aether, or Halo, you know? and those are just examples to come up since the creation of the Gatewatch.
But you're definitely right about it not being gold or something traditional like that.
it's nice to see a trans character come up in a decent way, where it's just one part of what he has going on. too many franchises think that just being a trans character is enough, instead of being a good, interesting character who is also trans. Yuma should be very popular!

But so insanely much better on turn 6 after you drop the scary thing that everyone wants to kill before it gets back to your turn
lol at this point 'does something dumb with Manufactor' is like 'does something dumb with Cloudstone Curio
