nightgaunt98c posted a message on What does Wizards of the Coast need to do to improve magic the gathering? They decided some time after Arabian Nights thst they werent going to use real world inspiration again. That's why we've gotten sets like Kamigawa.Posted in: Magic General

nightgaunt98c posted a message on What does Wizards of the Coast need to do to improve magic the gathering?I'd say the biggest thing is more quality cards. Especially at lower rarities. Efficient answers at common and uncommon are badly needed. They've tried so hard to avoid anything that people might not enjoy, that they've created a game that most people don't enjoy.Posted in: Magic General

nightgaunt98c posted a message on Thornbite Staff combos?I use it in my Krenko deck. It works well with Goblin Sharpshooter, and with a sac outlet, Krenko goes infinite.Posted in: Commander (EDH)

nightgaunt98c posted a message on When Pulling Out Your Deck: Random or See What is on the Table First? It kinda depends. Sometimes I just want to play a certain deck. So I do. Other times I see what others are playing. If everyone is playing a fast deck. I'll pick a fast deck. I'm not so much trying to get an advantage, as I am trying to make sure I'm not at a disadvantage.Posted in: Commander (EDH)

nightgaunt98c posted a message on Goodstuff = good fun, or fun-suck?Everyone plays good cards and staples in their decks. However, if that's your whole deck, and your commander doesn't have any influence on your deck build, then you've built a goodstuff deck.Posted in: Commander (EDH)

nightgaunt98c posted a message on Goodstuff = good fun, or fun-suck?To me, a true goodstuff deck is simply putting as many of the best cards in your colors into a deck, with little to no thought towards a theme, or how they work together. I've seen plenty of these decks, and, while there is nothing inherently wrong with them, I find them bland, and boring.Posted in: Commander (EDH)

nightgaunt98c posted a message on Non-Oona Faerie commanderI have a faerie tribal deck. The tricky thing is that there really aren't that many useful faeries. And they're mostly small. So you have to find ways to win despite the fact that most of your creatures will be outclassed most of the time. It's definitely an interesting deck building challenge, especially if you are strict about the tribal theme.Posted in: Commander (EDH)

nightgaunt98c posted a message on Random Card of the Day - HIATUSI have a U/B faerie tribal deck, and I run this. It's mostly in because it's a faerie, but the ability has come in handy a few times. Most of my spells are cheap enough that playing multiples isn't that far fetched, so killing larger creatures can happen. It just won't happen often. It's an eztremely niche card, but not totally unplayable.Posted in: Commander (EDH)

nightgaunt98c posted a message on Only oneYou could use Grave Pact type effects and sac outlets to control board state. You would just have to make sure you can put out creatures at the same pace as them.Posted in: Magic General

nightgaunt98c posted a message on Most evil thing you have done in a gameI like to play Underworld Dreams, and Forced Fruition together. It's funny to watch people squirm to get rid of one of them. And I dropped Staff of Domination into my elf EDH deck as soon as it was unbanned.Posted in: Magic General

nightgaunt98c posted a message on How do you feel about opponents doing take backsI'd say it's case by case. If it has no real effect on things, and they're just trying to make the correct plays in the correct order, then that's fine. But if I respond to something they do, and they want to change things so they can respond back, that's a learning experience for them.Posted in: Magic General

nightgaunt98c posted a message on Looking to make the most annoying deck possibleI built the typical annoying blue/red chaos deck once. Basically just play any effects that do weird things and mess with everyone. I used Niv-mizzet the Firemind as my comander (and wincon) and added wheels, and Teferi's Puzzlebox, and Mindmoil. It ended up being surprisingly effective because if you could stick 2 or 3 cards like Eye of the Storm, or Knowledge Pool, no one could reliably cast anything. And since I was doing damage just by drawing cards, I won far more often than I should. And only about half were people scooping oit of aggravation.Posted in: Commander (EDH)

nightgaunt98c posted a message on Dis-allow Exiling a GraveyardMost of the effects that remove a graveyard target you. So cards like Witchbane Orb, or Leyline of Sanctity would prevent them from affecting you.Posted in: Magic General
