The End of an Era

Come hear the tale of Solomon, the foolish and aloof.
He donned his finest garments, and saddled up his proudest steed.
Then rode of he did, searching for that place of mysteries and wonder.

He came upon it the second day, a grove enchanted by elvish glee.
A wonderland of adventure, for any foolhardy a young man can be.
He rode within forth on his trusted steed.

Then upon a bridge he came, guarded by an old dressed in gray.
He sat and counted from his box, coins from gilded pockets they were.
And beyond the bridge strange sounds, there were beasts and trolls and other such fey.

What is your quest young man the old fellow asked, lifting a brow.
I seek fortune and fame, Solomon answered, speaking proudly of his name.
I wish all of the lands to sing my tale, so that I may be hailed hero across the world.

The old fellow beckoned to the ground, pointing out skulls to the boy.
These were but some of those that preceded you boy, sure you will go in?
Damn the risk Solomon answered, for no hero has ever turned tail and ran!
3 golden coins then I ask, oh great Solomon... the Geezer asked, for toll and safekeeping of the bridge.
and from his gilded pouch, Solomon picked out three pieces of wealth and rode fourth.

And that is how the tale ends for poor Solomon, rich but foolish in his ways,
and the old man still has a treasury, greater it is than a kings treasury might ever be, for fools are never rare and far between...

so, I want to find a somewhat cheap and quick miniatures game, that allows for strategic gameplay, and I recently discovered Spartan Games and their miniatures games.
So, anyone here who know the game, and if so, is it any good?

PS: I am looking at some of those Pathogen X9-V ships, makes me think of the Beast from Homeworld Cataclysm. "Shudder". Awesome!

For Green I would go with Eldrazi... nothing screams big and stompy then those guys lol...

The eldrazi are regrettably both colorless and set specific, not really the poster boy for the color green I hate to say.

    Hydras...
Yeah, its a cool creature, big and scary thing that really is the embodiment of Green, as you said windweaver.
I hope they print some more fun Hydras in the future, although I would love to see some cool and highly playable Wurms in the future.

    I agree

I agree as well, however usually when Wurms come up, they tend to be more lackluster than the other big fish of green, so I would say Wurms are greens big thing, but they are usually put in the backseat thanks to better card choices.

You just cannot name as many recognizable big green wurms the same way you can do with Angels, Demons, Dragons especially and Leviathans and Sphinxes.
Usually its the big green creature of the season rather the type, you know, either the jolly green titan, Primordial Hydra, woodfall primus etc...

Well, as the title suggest, I was thinking about the big signature creature for each color of magic.
We have Angels for White, Leviathans (or sphinxes) for Blue, Demons for Black, Dragons for Red, and then when you reach green there is... Beasts? Wurms?
What is the signature BIG creature for Green?
I just can't think of it, there are after all, many different ones, not just one specific one.
Sure, Baloth is up there, but after all, that is a beast, so I kind of already named it off.
I dunno, not a really serious post, just a mere speculative one.

So, I have often seen (with myself at least) that when you are given a quick phrase or small picture to write a poem about, and are not under the subject of being criticized, a atmosphere of creative growth will appear.
As of such, I present this to you:

Write a small poem about what I am about to post, and without critisising others or yourself.
Just let yourself write whatever pops into your head, and just read what the others have written and be really open minded.
This is only a completely free challenge of that to grow as a poet yourself by writing without restrictions on how good or bad it might be, and seeing whatever others might write, and learn for yourself to freely express yourself.

Creativity often grows best when it is unrestricted after all (I am studying in an art teacher/art history class right now, just for fun, and we learn what it means to be creative).
I hope I got across what I wanted to say.

Anywho, here is the random thing I will post for this challenge:
    A painting.
I will not tell who painted this or why, and I urge you to not check it out or if you know of this painting to say anything either, seeing how the less you know, the more unrestricted your text is. Smile

    Dark_Kloud:
Is that overrun from a set that has it as cheap as the rules say?
Its a real cool deck, like the idea a lot, and then again I love the Big, Mean, Black and Green deck.

    cdmagic:
Cute idea, care about simic cards, mixed in with a nice amount of card draw and face beating, sprinkled with a hint of counterspelling.
    Nice!

Casually playable, and the tcgplayer lows yes, sorry for not adding that to the info.
Any format as in build it in any format you desire, total freedom.

Try to build a deck that only uses cards that are worth 0.10 or less cents.

The format may be any, just keep that piggy bank fat and happy while trying to build the deck as playable as possible.

Except Shadow is a horrible mechanic. What exactly is the purpose of this thread? Is it just to redesign individual shards, or do you intend to go farther than that?

Just to have fun and come up with ideas for what you would have done if you were given the job of designing the shards.

I have Gotten an idea lately for how Grixis could have been designed:
If we think a bit here:
BR = Violent and mindless mayhem for fun's sake.
UB = "Dimentia" spells, milling and discard.
UR = Wild crazy and creative.

Mixing these three together, and you get the plain of insanity, no?

Make cards based upon Tarot Cards, and by that I mean the ideas behind them, not just their names, so for an example death won't end up being just another Black kill-spell, or Judgement won't be just another Wrath effect.

I will go first, just to start it of:

The Magician: This card represent the idea of being in control of all the suits, ergo to me it makes me think of a wizard spell that gets you cards for a specific color.

    First Draft:
    Omni-Arcanist XX2U

    Creature - Wizard

When CARDNAME enters the battlefield, name a color, then reveal the top X cards of your library, put all nonland cards of the chosen color into your hand, put the other cards revealed this way on top of your library in any order, then shuffle your library.

    2/2

Hi there, I came to wonder something, how do they foil cards?
How does that process work? and are there any videos online that shows it?

I am just curious, cause I would like to see it. It would be kind of cool to know how it happens.
Do any of you know anything?
