Could there be a place for the new draw spell that was spoiled:
3UU
Sorcery
Draw three cards, untap up to two lands, then discard a card.
I've been tinkering in my head with the idea of a UG version using Kiora, Whistful Selkies, and Snapcasters. That card may make me actually put it together.
Isn't it weird that it's only in English, Japanese, Chinese Simplified? I mean i would get it if it was in English only or in all usual languages, but only three of them?
I guess this could mean either it's an experiment for them or they could be reprinting some big rares in a way not to upset collectors. I'm hoping that this could possibly be an attempt at Modern Master 1.5, since barely anybody I know actually got to draft MMA physically.
Had a discussion with someone about Genesis Wave into multiple copies of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. He says that when Wave resolves, you have a chance to use it's second ability before legendary rule kicks in forcing you to sac down to one. Similar to using karoo lands before bouncing them in conjunction with Amulet of Vigor. Wouldn't the legendary rule act as soon as they drop forcing the sacrifice before any of their abilities can be used?
I can't see anyone using this in EDH with all the other mana rocks available. It feels like some kind of test in cardboard form: "do you want to sink gratuitous amounts of mana into this or just run a darksteel ingot?" That said, I kinda want to pick up a foil one just for the heck of it. Also, I imagine people will have fun with the XXX cost.
Sorting out my c13 stuff to finally start building new commander decks and started thinking about Restore. Do you think there is a chance we'll see this in a regular set, making it standard and modern legal? Could this card mean something for the future? Given WOTC's current opinion on land destruction and the decline in recent ramping cards (or maybe I've been spoiled by Rampant Growth ), what could we see down the road?
Good lord, game day is going to be rough, thought I was out of standard but looks like they're going to reel me back in. Guess I'll have to hold on to my JAoT and Sphinx's Revelations a bit longer.
I think they'd do better with a tourney-legal JTMS card printed with gold leaf. Put $20 worth of actual gold in it to appeal to the metal collectors, and the card itself will appeal to the players and especially the "pimpers."
Wouldn't that add to the weight of the card or the thickness making it "marked"?
Since turning a card face down isn't the exact same as transforming a card, I assume you would have to probably cover it with something to act as a 2/2 morph token until it's flipped back over.

Liliana of the Veil, my second planeswalker pull when I got back into MTG but number one in every way. Aggressively costed, great abilities, fantastic art.
