Yah, well in my case where I wouldn't be selling most of the cards it kinda becomes more complicated than just ev anyways. Also that I would be trying to finish a set during prerelease/release events which have a better ev (or did when i last played).

Still it seems like I can basically just assume that each set should cost around $400-$500 to draft into during prerelease/release (and then playing standard after that is like, mildly profitable/break even after that)

Actually doesnt seem like such an expensive hobby at roughly $150 a month until I factor in dropping like 2k to straight up buy the last 4 sets (which I would assume after prerelease/release it would be cheaper to just buy them >.<)

I guess I also haven't factored in if I would be selling off sets on rotation or not either.

I think buying complete sets during a sets release would cost alot more though. That ev site is convenient though.

So im thinking about getting back into mtgo. Last time I was playing I was drafting at about 50% winrate and was getting 3-1 alot of the time in constructed, didn't have much money at the time and was getting those 3-1 with rdw only (and tron in pauper). Actually quit when they got rid of pauper daily events since I actually had fun in pauper while standard last season for rdw wasnt much fun.

Anyways have more disposable income and thinking of getting back into mtg, but only if I draft myself or buy playsets in order to play (more) competitively in standard. I think buying playsets right after a sets launch would be expensive as hell and it would probobly be cheaper to play pre-release and then release events and try and finish playsets using those?

Im sure there is some simple math for this like (cost of draft - average winning) and like however many boosters it takes on average to get a full set selling only copies past 4 of anything (and selling anything past 4 to buy the missing mythics at the end).

Forgot the main reason claustraphobia sucks. Doesn't stop devotion. Probobly why your eating so much damage from mogis.

Sure if someone who does well in standard dailies is a troll. Personally im around 15-30th for most standard daily 3-1 and 4-0 and I can tell you this deck is a joke that has maybe 1-2 results ;p

Im not great at dealing with rogue lists but it seems to me that with so many spells and battalion guys you may want to try young pyromancer for your 2 drop over diplomats

I have seen this deck online before. It's good when its good but it plays like a really crappy rdw if you don't draw the necromancer. The guy playing it online was playing only 3 exava and had 2 cerberus and a few more land and he actually wen't on to 3-1 after I beat him round 1 with rdw.

I may build this and run it a few times online just for fun. The main thing is if it can beat mono b. I see them just killing necromancer when he drops and then getting brick walled behind a deso demon.. but thats nothing that doesn't happen to rdw also...

Would need some minor changes for mtgo also. For example no point in doom blade when almost everything is mono color and black is very popular. Probobly better to use devour flesh or the kill mono color one.

Ive played against this deck with my boros aggro deck 3 times now. I won each time. Also played Lewis on mtgo and he isn't that bad either... I don't understand how this is suppose to be good in a meta where rdw and mono b both run 8-16 removal. Dragon mantle is basically a 1 mana cantrip. I got hit by madcap skills a few turns when tapped out but it's basically lighting strike that only works if im tapped out and then dies with the creature when I untap. I always held a killspell until a madcap dropped making it extremely easy to beat. Ohh yah and Boros reckoner can block anything in the deck, if they try and swing through with mass creatures your taking a few and killing 2 guys.

I hear esper is the paper meta (it also has the best mtgo winrate but people are too cheap on mtgo to buy esper so its all rdw and mono b) and this looks good against esper.

If the opponent asks you to not speak then you basically shouldn't. If its a positive effect someone is forgetting like lifelink then noone has to remind them. If you see a negative effect being skipped though you should speak up.

Yeah the real problem is finding out what deck has the actual win % behind it and even then you would only want to look at players at a higher rating. Its even possible mono B is better than I think and since the masses are playing it they drag it down to a lower win %

Wish I had that replay mining script that one guy has >.<

Also more on topic. I can say having played rdw vs B/g it hurts alot. Rdw started to come back into the scene splashing white for chained to the rocks for deso demon and sometimes assemble the legion (which is too slow for mono b anyways...).

Golgori charm on chained or against firefist strikers is great. Abrupt decay for boros reckoner and chained/hammer is good.

I think you would want a B/g scry though so maybe its best to splash after that comes in a few months.

I see. It also seems it would have the same problem as rdw. When mono black drops the whip you basically lose most of the time. I sb 3x Wear//Tear and even then they can duress/thought seize it.

mono black wasn't that good to begin with. There was a post showing mtgo daily stats. Basically it only had a 47% winrate even at its best while esper was the best with 54%. 9000 people play the same deck its bound to end up getting alot of 4-0. Then people see it has alot of 4-0 and play it more thinking its great. Both Esper and R/G have a higher winrate but they cost more money ;p

Im thinking of switching to this from R/W (rdw) on mtgo. Just wondering what problems this has against mono B/Mono U and G/R midrange. I don't see this deck winning alot although it randomly appears to 4-0 and win paper tournies.

Does it have a really bad matchup against mono b or what's keeping this from placing on mtgo... or is just noone playing this over rdw and thats why (you see mostly mono b even though it only has 45% winrate so sometimes its not the best deck showing 4-0 just that 90000 people are playing mono b and rdw)

Im actually suprised people think smiter is better than healer. Look at other decks 3 drops. a 2/3 flier and a 3/3 thats going to reflect 3 to the dome. Both options block 90% of aggro 2/2 drops. Healer at least does something before it eats that doomblade though ;p

Momir is like 80% luck and 20% skill. 50% winrate will still give positive ev.. even then I have about 60% winrate with momir. Not all luck :p
