I love the Gatekeepers cycle, especially for limited play. A 2/4 for 4cmc is awesome in limited.
Teysa, why are you such a disappointment?
I suppose the point of extort decks are to be durdly and can get to 7 mana with out ramp. I guess...
Oh, the text on the spoiler page is missing 'combat' from the text. Which is important, because without that word, she would be the only creature in standard to kill herself and replace you entire field with 1/1 spirits from a Rakdos Charm.
Who knows? They don't have to stick to just keywords and abilities that has been printed. They could very well come up with something new to fit his theme.
Maybe just can't be targeted by spells, but can still be targeted by abilities, and we'll call it Ogreshroud. (this is me wishing they would print less Hexproof)
2) They can't respond to you tapping Bloom Tender for Mana, since it doesn't use the stack.
3) As above, they can't respond to you tapping Bloom Tender for Mana. So you would have gotten the mana, and be able to cast things (Unless you pass priority for some reason) before they can even try to kill it.
This is a rules spec based on the way the card reads, but could you play Conspiracy and name gates, and just get some different creatures and some different lands and win?
'Gate' is not a valid creature type to choose for Conspiracy.
Yes. Each player gains priority between the resolution of every spell. After the resolution of the Spellbomb's ability, he gains priority (so do you) so he can cycle creatures into his now-empty graveyard and those creatures will come back off of Living End.
But not at the same time. Whenever a player add something to the stack, he or she gains priority again first, allowing them to add as many abilities on the stack before any else gets to say otherwise. But since the stack resolves First In Last Out, it's almost never beneficial to do so.
So what your opponent can do,
Cast Living End, putting it on the stack. Do not pass priority, Cycle all the cards he wants.
And now, the stack would look like this:
(Top of stack)
Cycle
Cycle
Living End
Demonic Dread
If he does no pass priority, you cannot add Nihil Spellbomb onto the stack however, he must pass priority for the ability to resolve, so you can wait for the cycle abilities to resolve, and if he wants Living End to resolve, he must pass priority to you, at this time you may place the Spellbomb on top, which will resolve before Living End.
But, he can always just wait for your Nihil Spellbomb to resolve and then cycle the creatures with Living End on the stack. Your best option is to just put the Nihil Spellbomb on the stack when he passes priority on the Living End.
Either choice, the trooper will not do damage again. Since the stack is available to both players after the first strike damage step.
For loosing the double strike, the Trooper will not assign damage in the normal damage step, because this step looks for creatures with double strike and creatures that did not deal damage in the first strike step. This is so that if a creature looses first trike after first strike damage does not give you pseudo-double strike.
It needs other cards to work with it. Regardless of format, you don't want to be doing "nothing" on turn 5. You need some way of ensuring that your opponent has at least something in their graveyard before casting it. I'm confident that the rest of Dimir will be able to enable this card just fine, however.
Considering you have encode and some unblockable creatures, turn 5/6 cast Consuming Aberration attack with encoded creature, get at least 1 or maybe if you're a bit adventurous 2 spells. You'll 'grind' for about 2 every time given the average 17:23 land to card ratio in Limited.
The Emissary opens up all sorts of play lines. Magical xmas time -
T1: Stomping Grounds -> Arbor Elf
T2: Land -> Emissary -> Wild Beastmaster
T3: Bloodrush Zhur-Taa Swine to WB, swing for 21
Other T2 emissary plays - Strangleroot/Ash Zealot + Rancor, Domri Rade
^nm, misread the Bloodrush ability of Swine. I don't think it would work...still, a T2 Beastmaster in a world of playable Hasted creatures + Rancor seems awfully powerful.
It would work. Since Wild Beastmaster's ability check her power on resolution.

No, since protection was not changed, it does not protect from 'encode' like it does with Auras.

So using Scapeshift is not instant win (It is if you use Amulet of Vigor)

Render Silent.
What is it?
I think it may be Orzhov, or maybe Dimir...
Counterspell or creature removal?

The Rapid Hybridization and Young Wolf's Undying trigger do not happen at the same time.
By the time Young Wolf dies, Rapid Hybridization is already resolving, and the Undying trigger has to wait until the spell is finished.
The destroy and putting a 3/3 token onto the battle fields is one event on the stack.

And because the way fog works, even if you cast your spells after fog, so that they would resolve first, all damage will be prevented anyways
It would work. Since Wild Beastmaster's ability check her power on resolution.
