I think we do need to play with more utility lands, ironically yesterday I lost a matchup the same way as miracle Blade in the final round, to a thalia being bounced with a karakas, the removal wasn't the problem but the fact that any utility land can work without any problems against us.

Thanks for the bit of feed back and the reality check. Here is the full list as of right now:

I have decided to keep the Faerie Macabre there because it was effective last time I used it against Aggro Loam and it is still good against storm, which I am not sure anyone plays in my area. Plus, I can hard cast it with those two Blood Crypts! haha
MartyrProc I guess I will have to take the loss with. Again, I did not see any when I played last time, and I did have plenty of time to watch other matches since my matches are so quick.
I would replace the Volcanic Fallouts or Lava Spikes for the Path to Exiles. The Paths are good for killing Iona and a creature about to be equipped with SoWaP, especially if the creature is above that 3 toughness threshold.
Lastly, Disenchants for Leyline. Combust and Shattering Spree are obvious.
I am just hoping that since two of the top-four decks were Burn the players in the area don't hate out the Red!

I feel like that matchup is what keeps Burn as an underdog in the format, any other decks have a hardtime dealing with it because of how much the format punishes you for mana fixing, storm is not fast enough now so the matchup can be like a 50-50. I mean I've had matchups with no hate were they just die before comboing off. Pod is another matchup that is kind of hard but after sb becomes a lot easier. Zoo does half the work for us and afinity is easily beaten after sb too, but martyr completely stops us in our tracks, if the deck becomes weaker after Rtr we could have more burn around.

1/1 Haste, when this creature is put into a graveyard deal 1 damage to target creature or player? seems to keep the flavor but not too powerful, If the creature would have unleash it would just be a plain 1/1 unleash without other abilities because anything else would be out of proportions for a turn one.

Isn't 3 wishes a little bit excessive though? 2 was my number to go cuting one clique and one sword but i don't know, I still have to test the card. Something I really like about your list and that I have been pondering about is the use of noxious revival. I really feel that that card can be nuts if wished for at the right time, given that you have countertop and miracles you can do multiple interesting things like pulling something from your grave to the top to counter a spell, or either EOT or in their turn return a terminus and top into it. there's also the useful return a permanent to the top, even if it isn't a miracle or used in a countertop returning stuff like a JtMS or something like that can be really relevant.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but what do you guys think about the wish sideboard?, I'm not sure about how I feel when paying 4 for a Sword to plowshares, or a spell snare, but the ability to get a toolbox to response to pretty much everything that's thrown at you seems pretty good.

    Howdy everyone!

At last night's FNM (where I went 4-0 with Mono-G Infect), I found out that we are doing another Modern Tourney next month. I got 4th in that last one, and I want to get first this time around.

First, I am putting down the money for fetches and shocks. I am planning on putting in 2 Blood Crypt and 1 Sacred Foundry. Now, since I have the black and white splash, how can I improve my sideboard? Here was my old sideboard:

I want to put in Rain of Gore, Path to Exile, and possibly Disenchant and Mindbreak Trap in there somewhere. I am planning on taking out the Blood Moons out of the side and main, and the flames of the blood hand and Dragon's Claw.

    What do you all think?

For Sideboard I would say that mindbreak trap seems a little bit excessive with the 4 faerie macabre already in there, from experience against hundreds of matches against Ur storm I can tell you that one piece of disruption is enough to buy you the time to kill them, we usually kill turn 3/4(specially them since they take a lot of damage to combo out) and they usually combo in one of those turns, faerie macabre will stop them for 1-2 turns, so they would combo until turn 5-6 at which point they are already dead.
Unless you are really that terrified of combo I would choose one or the other, but both make you less prepared for other matchups.
I ran rain of gore too but besides the martyr of sands/proclamation matchup the card is pretty much dead, siding it against kitchen finks or lightning helix seems like a waste of space, since it will just do you a 1 for 1 and slow you a turn. To tell you the truth that is the only matchup that I find unwinnable, I would say it is like an 80-20 in their favor, so if you expect a lot of that burn is probably not the option, I love the deck more than anything else, but we have to be realistic about the matchup, so instead of filling your sideboard with cards that will not give you a solid hate against one specific deck you should have stuff that works against multiple decks in the metagame like smash to smithereens or the full playset of combust and such.
I haven't tried demistify but it seems like a good sideboard, path to exile seems more like an option Zoo would try. I would be curious about what you would take out for the PtE given the fact that it obviously slows the deck down.

Hello there, I'm new around here, but I have been running Burn for quite a while now, the best I've done was 4-0 in a modern challenge beating mono black, Zoo, G/w aggro and Jund. with this list:

Why run back to the basics main-board? Why not run it side-boad?

If it's relevant, putting four in should destroy their mana-base games two and three (that's if you don't win with control, counter, field, bounce). If it's not, it's just taking up space.

It almost always screws your opponent's manabase, even against mono colored I've had times when they have port wasteland cavern in play and never get back from it. I'm sure there are exceptions, but most of the time it will tip the match to your favor.

I think that the problem is where will the card see play. Nic fit, aggro loam(it will probably be amazing in Here) and bug control are my guesses, none of them tier 1 atm so the card will be around but not be even close to dominate the format. Perhaps black maverick too cutting pridemages?

Can you wait until that turn 4 though? In this aggro format I would rather have terminus on top ready to go and then tap out into jace, which is also something to be concerned about, now you are filling your turn 4 even more. I really don't think the can't be countered clause is that relevant. The reason to why Wrath of God wasn't run wasn't because it could be countered, but because it was too slow and didn't actually get rid of the creatures permanently(recursion and such can still happen, specially against reanimator, but also zombies Nick fit, etc.) unlike terminus which gets them out of the board without giving your opponents the possibility to bring them back. Also they can be regenerated, not that relevant, but can still happen in some matchups that bring thrun and stuff of the like in to deal with us.

Man G/W combo elves was soooo fun, people was like "are you done?" after tapping out, and then bell ringer into wave for a millon.

I don't think it will be that relevant, you still want a heavy black on a deck with her, so tutoring for shocks might not be relevant not to mention the really slow speed at which you get them.
