    Is that true?

What specifically does an all white jury make them unfair to a black defendant?

It is not that it is an all white jury, it is that the all white jury are members of white heritage and supremacy groups. The judge in question is a part of a group called "La Raza" which is Spanish for "The Race". In their mission statements they specifically state they intend to work to help illegal immigrants, and they released instructions to boycott all Trump business when he started running fro presidency. So yes, when a judge that is a part of a group that has openly declared plans to hurt Trump's business, it becomes clear the man is biased.

In many ways, these "ethnicity" planes are really problematic. Theros is 100% stereotypes and cultural appropriation and I'm pretty sure there isn't a single Greek person working on Magic R&D, but Greeks are not particularly discriminated against, so nobody really complained. This really isn't tolerable for more marginalized cultures and Wizards will be (rightfully) criticized for it if they continue to use cultural appropriation as a way to increase corporate profit.

Minorities should not be used as gimmicks to sell new sets of Magic cards.

I agree it is disgusting to perpetuate the stereotypes of all Greeks being half-horse men that can turn into ethereal blessings and I fully apologize on behalf of WoTC for appropriating Greece's culture of killing hydras and going to the underworld when you die for their own profit.

And just to make it clear that was all sarcasm because the notion of a world-wide brand with fans from all over the world being limited in what they can become inspired from by your arbitrary moral compass is a joke. By your own line of logic any Greek store that sells American created, designed, and made Magic cards for profit is appropriating American culture as Americans by definition are a minority in Greece.

It's perfectly possible that the next Ravnica block focuses on Gideon rather than Jace. With the Living Guildpact preoccupied elsewhere, someone's got to keep an eye on the bustling metropolis and keep order between the Guilds. Although, I think it would be fun to see Gideon and Jace develop a crime fighting dynamic, where Jace figures out whatever the bad guys are up to and lends illusion/telepath support while Gideon handles the fighting and rallies public support.

As for the Egyptian block, I'm guessing that Ajani is going to be our protagonist, lead there in search of magic that he might be able to use to get Elspeth back, or barring that help him destroy Heliod. Cue him running into Jace and Chandra searching ruins for something plot-important themselves, and ultimately joining the Gatewatch.

I really like this angle. With Wizards taking story into account more it does seem odd that they left Elspeth in limbo like that. Going to a plane with different gods with a lot of empathic on necromancer type magic to combat other gods sounds very cool. Though at that point it would seem like the better choice would be to return to Theron after. But then again gotta make sure the spotlight is brought back to Jace for awhile. Something else to consider is maybe we run into a Garruk looking to solve his curse in Egypt somehow? Or maybe the Avengers go looking instead.

Friendly reminder that this is the RUMOR mill. Not the "confirmed leaks and released info from Wizards" mill.

Friendly reminder that this was made at a time where leaks were occurring left and right out of nowhere, and many rumors that were tossed aside ended up being true.

This is fake. Where are the pics of the back. You could simply cut the back out insert any trolling cards and post all over the nets.

You would have to be a complete moron to ever open this package. You can call it fake all you want (which would still be incredibly ignorant because it has not a single visible flaw and the man would have had to literally replicate and draw a well known artists style to create a unique image for the card like that, not to mention not only figure out how to fake the holofoil that was added specifically to curb the printing of fakes, but to figure it out and reveal you have cracked it rather than selling the idea for major bucks to illegal companies), anyway back on track, you can call it fake all you want but we will never see the back of the card I can only pray.

Shoudn't this be in speculation since theres no proof from this person's statement?

Eitherway i would enjoy a Egyptian plane

This is a rumor mill forum. A rumor was spread elsewhere, and so we are discussing the rumor here. This is exactly what the rumor mill was created for. Baseless speculation is for you posting your own random theories. The person that made this claim said he had insider knowledge of it being true. Whether or not he was lying or not, is impossible to tell. With all of the leaks going on inside Wizards right now it is both very much worth listening to any potential leaks, and even more so not worth pressuring people to provide any sort of proof as they are risking legal action against themselves to leak for us. It has been the case in the past where leaks that were months old and ignored for lack of proof ended up being true and that leakers were heckled by members even of this very forum because they wouldn't provide "proof" and ended up stopping providing any info.

Isn't that like the definition of speculation?

No. Speculation is the forming of a theory or conjecture without firm evidence. First, the source of this info has claimed to know that these statements are true. While not "firm evidence" by nature, this is much different than one saying they think it will be this way because of something like gut-instinct. Second, we are not conjecting anything here. We are discussing a pre-existing rumor that already existed online. Rumors going around, if you will. That is why this is the rumor mill. Considering the state of constant major leaks the game has been having recently, including Eternal Masters and Conspiracy 2 being leaked ahead of their announcement, essentially the major plot elements of SOI being leaked, the majority of Oath of the Gateway check being leaked, and so on, it is worth listening to any and all rumors at this point in time.

It's not inconceivable that, if there were an Egyptian themed block, it would somehow explain the birth/creation of the Eldrazi if they're trying to do story continuity.
We got it figured out. Follow the Marvel Universe movies lineup, and we'll get serial some copy-paste action from Wizards.

I heard there's an Egyptian mutant coming around the corner... And last year we had the Gatewatch Avengers movie...

God I'm having some serious deja vu here... I hope Creative gets flamed.. for being... un-creative.

I have to agree. Marvel is cool and all, and normally I don't dislike Rosewater's direction with the game and color pie philosophy other than the minor disagreement here and there, but I absolutely loathe this "Planeswalkers are Superheroes!" idea MaRo has obviously convinced creative to go towards. Sure, I could see the parallel before, but going into overdrive changing the entire story to focus on that aspect and Flanderising the game to try and ride the Marvel movie-wave that is going on right now has really been alienating me recently.

Sure, but if they're doing cohesive storylines, then why the heck would they take a whole block off from that to do an unrelated story? I don't buy this "afraid it would end up like Kamigawa" theory.

Beats me. The one thing that makes me actually skeptical is the whole unrelated mystery thing already being Conspiracies shtick. I would be very surprised if they did a mystery theme again. Especially since Innistrad seems to have some of the whole "mystery" thing going on as well with Clue tokens and such.

I am skeptical about the authenticity of this. 4chan is hardly a reliable source, and we got a fake list of rares/mythics in EMA from /tg/ just last week. Additionally, I don't think ANY information about a block over a year in the future would be available at the moment. Knowing the exact name of the second set in the block after Innistrad is suspicious (as is knowing the exact name of the first Rav3 set), as is the whole "This storyline will be unconnected" bit.

I am inclined to agree. But with that being said with the new block rotation system and focus on a much more cohesive story line, who knows how far out they have to have their block names, themes, and stories planned to make sure it all works nowadays.

Didn't see this here so I thought it would share. A poster on 4chan's /tg/ (traditional games) board had this to say:

"The block after Innistrad 2 will be about a new plane called Sivagat. It's a desert world and will heavily reference Egyptian mythology. It will feature gods and the story will be a relatively small-scale mystery plot that's gonna be completely separate from any other story line going on at the moment. The reason for this separation is that WotC is worried that the block will mirror Kamigawa in certain regards due to the exotic setting and almost niche mythology that's not as popular as Greek mythology.
The first set of the block will be called Secrets of Sivagat and the second set will be called Fury of the Sand.
The block after that will be another Return to Ravnica. I have no information about that story and only know the name of the first set. War of the Guilds.
    "

Seems worth keeping in mind, especially considering how many seemingly random leaks have popped up and ended up true recently. Egyptian theme has always been on MaRo's shortlist, and seeing as how we will be getting a "return" every other set now, Ravnica being so popular and all about Jace now doesn't seem so far-fetched. I'm going o have to disagree. Thee is a key difference between hosing your opponent harder than yourself, and not actually being affected by a card. Affinity and Zoo only bring in blood moon when it is an auto-win for them. They would not bring it in against every deck because it is just as bad for them as well. Play both with only basic mountains and you get my drift. A dedicated blood moon deck would still get very nice advantage turning off non-basics against affinity, and forcing zoo to fetch basics. hey only play the card in their sideboard because the can control when and how bad the double-edge is for them. Infect on the other hand I agree. It isn't really so great at all. Though turning off Inkmoth and that one pump-land is still not bad. I don't think Bloodmoon will be good in every deck as a four-of but i do believe their is room for something like Blue or white moon to come foreword now that Twin is theoretically gone.

One thing I can say for sure, with a reasonable amount of confidence here, is that Bloodmoon x4 is a fantastic start to cracking the meta. Assuming Twin is essentially dead (I have my reservations, I still think the deck is still completely viable), the only other major deck that isn't fazed is burn (skred red doesnt count lol). Tron, the Eldrazi decks, jund, zoo, b/w tokens, infect, affinty, I could go on. Bloodmoon is going to be crazy good.

Hey Smile Seems you arent getting much input from others. I hope you will forgive my bluntness in the matter. I should be finishing a paper due tomorrow.

These are cards I would consider unplayable in Modern on their own merit:

    Serra Avatar
    Transcendent Master
Debt to the Deathless (Biggest shame in the world too, art is amazing
    Merciless Eviction
    Ring of Thune
    Ring of Xathrid
    Tainted Sigil
    Boon Reflection
    Celestial Mantle
    Cradle of Vitality

Now I know exactly how you feel. I love making lots of random decks and always end up with too many cards to pick from. The best way to start making cuts is to use some old Magic philosophy called "win-more". While win-more cards are usually fine and quite fun in standard and commander etc. in a more speed and orientated and competitive setting like Modern it is a really good thing to start thinking about. A card that is win-more is a card that will only make you win faster, it will not make you win on it's own. And this is undesirable. A simple example of this is the card Celestial Mantle. It cost alot of mana, and is only going to be good if you are already at a decent life total (doubling from 1 > 2 doesn't really help much) and assumes you already have a creature in play that your opponenet will not be able to kill. And yet it does little to actually help you win the game. Whereas compare it to a card like Blood Baron of Vizkopa which costs less mana, is a threat on it's own, and can realistly help you come back to win a game when you are behind.

Next you should consider what direction you want to take the deck in. I see a few immediate themes looking at the cards. Combo with Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Blood, Midrange/control with things like Blood Varon of Vizkopa, Divinity of Pride, and a bunch of removal spells, and a more aggro deck with cards like Serra Ascendant.

Now before we go any further, maybe you already have but just in case you havent, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the two existing and competitive lifegain decks in Modern, Soul sisters and Martyr-Proc. Soul sisters is Aggro and Martyr-Proc is control.

Assuming you have see those already and do not with to use them then at that point its just kinda up to you to decide your theme.
