Oops, yeah I missed leyline and sphere somehow, it's in the 75, my bad. Edited, thanks for pointing out. I agree, there does seem to be some rather odd things going on here. Ascension also does seem like an auto-include as a better win-con.
Was immediately intrigued by the interaction between Adanto Vanguard and Death's Shadow upon seeing the vanguard spoiled. Turn 2-3 5/5-9/9 shadow seems solid, and some of the new vampires added to some of the ones we already had(like Stromkirk Condemned) will definetly be creating some form of B/W, B/W/R, W/R whatever vamps. Thoughts?
Well, it's repeatable draw, in modern it flips turn 3, 4 at the latest...and it play right into our game plan. Most U/W control decks nowadays are a tapout style, but these 2 have the potential t chance that into a raw draw-go style.
I personally think it will be a sleeper. They also basically reprinted Gaea's Cradle too with Growing Rites of Itlimoc. I think there's a few cards coming that will boost our build, manly Sanctum Seeker and Bloodcrazed Paladin. Seem good; gonna proxy some and see,.
Hey just my 2 cents. Collective Brutality seems pretty darn good for this deck. Also, Stromgald Crusader and Knight of Infamy are some of the best options I've seen offered, aside from the Liege. Hero isn't a bad card at all though either, for this kinda deck I'd go hero over Kalitas any day, as good as the vamp is. I always liked Hakkon, just so dang narrow. What happens when they Surgical Extraction Hakkon? Surgical's played all over any more.
I agree with D90Dennis14 black seems the far better option. You get the same essentially permanent creature removal(with far more options than W gives), Bitterblossom which is really huge if you run Mistbind Clique as you don't have to champion a key threat that you spent mana/a turn playing, and you can always bounce the blossom if the lifedrain becomes a pain, or even champion the enchantment itself(usually the better play after you've gotten 3-5 tokens). Also, black gives hand disruption which can be extremely pivotol...faeries is 75% a control deck, 25% threats(usually instant-speed threats that also play into the control plan). Ask any control/faeries player...they almost always finish at >10 life, and that's normal. It takes time to stabalize, but once you do you don't have to worry about them answering all your stuff normally; heck, most of the time they downright can't, and faeries REALLY wants to make sure that Scion of Oona and Mistbind Clique stick around, otherwise, bitterblossom's much worse. Paying 5 life for 5 flying 1/1s is good, sure. Evasion, bodies, etc. But paying 5 life for 5 2/2s is REALLY good. Hope that gave some insight.
Oh, plus you get Liliana of the Veil to run as a 1-3 of(gotta play her later than t3, those turns are for disruption and you wanna protect her) which is a win-con all by itself.
