Me, I'm a guy with a decent wallet that loves to play his old cards and take offense when I'm being told my whole pod deck is now dead, or that I have to play legacy to keep playing Jace cause R&D is too lazy to test him in non-rotating formats, when I darn well know the truth is that they want me to buy their new sets that contain 95% filler and sell my cards for a fourth of what I paid them.

Okay, the one issue I have is that some of the cards that are banned, i.e. Jace, Stoneforge Mystic and Artifact Lands, were around before the Modern format was created. So they weren't able to test those cards in Modern. I do agree that they need to test some in at least modern so they would get to know the feel of those cards and see what cards they should watch for in the upcoming months after a set release. If Treasure Cruise would be fairly powerful in their Modern Future Future League that they have, then they would watch the meta closely.

I know that this is a monumental task but I would like to request all of the power nine renders. No bleed, with the black card borders and using the new promo frames before M14. Post on the forum as well as PM me.

With Khans of Tarkir being fully revealed, what impact will it have on cube lists? What cards would you put in from Khans, with exception of Fetchlands? I assume that a lot of the cubes already have those fetches.

DOes anyone expect to see any Khans cards with Delve in Standard? I think that there might be fringe cards but I don't see Delve cards seeing major gameplay. I think that Delve is a hard mechanic to execute in standard. Maybe in other formats but I just don't like the mechanic.

I have a combo idea and I want to incorporate it into a deck. I don't know what to include to take advantage. The two cards include Magosi, the Waterveil and Kiora's Followers. Any help on building the deck would be greatly appreciated.

Remand is not a time walk, but if played right it can delay the opponent of a crucial play. If your opponent is trying to cast something big to swing the game to their favor either they tap out or tap a majority of their lands (say they have seven lands and cast Primeval Titan) and you remand it back to their hand. Either they are going to play a lesser spell that won't reflect on the board state or they will pass the turn without doing anything else.

For Daze Wizards would not reprint it because they feel that the free mechanic or alternate of doing something instead of paying mana is a mistake that they don't want to reprint. As far as Memory Lapse is concerned, it would be more likely to be reprinted and it is about the same as Remand. One goes back to your hand and the other goes to the top of the library. As a scenario that those two are the same. you have are on the play and opponent is on the draw and you have two lands (at least one Island open). Your opponent has just played a second land and casts Tarmogoyf. You responded with Remand and it goes to their hand. With Memory Lapse it does the exact same thing. Later in the game, Memory Lapse is better, because Remand just lets them recast something.

I think Guttural Response should make it on the list somewhere.

I know a lot of people are just focusing on blue, but if you're in a non-blue aggro, mid, or tempo strategy that card is great out of the sideboard.

I have it as number 10 because it is a way for R/G based decks to be able to respond to control decks and R/G aggro, midrange, etc bad matchups are control.

I know of some of the better couterspells in the format and want to know what you people would rank the top 10 counterspells in Modern as. #1 being the highest.
My top 10 counterspells would be
    1. Cryptic Command
You can do many things and not just countering a spell. Very flexible
    2. Pact of Negation
Free! Great for combos when they go off.
    3. Spell Pierce
Good for counter wars and other troublesome noncreatures
    4. Remand
Cheaper time walk without getting a extra turn right away
    5. Rune Snag
Just gets better with more in the yard.
    6. Negate
    One word, Planeswalkers
    7. Spell Snare
Good for other permanents. I see you Isochron Scepter
    8. Counterflux
    Great against Storm
    9. Deprive
Some lands are great to play again and again.
    10. Guttural Response
Green/Red's respones to the blue mage.

  • posted a message on Counterfeits, how paranoid should I be?
I agree with the people who say to shop at trusted websites (i.e. SCG, Channel Fireball), as well as local game stores. A lot of them are more trained to find counterfeit cards. Also, the cliche "if it seems too good to be true then it is too good to be true." SO use your gut, if the deal is too hard too pass up then don't bother with it.

For the wish I do not have a sideboard yet. I could run another Past in Flames.

After testing the deck with a few playthroughs, I found that I have way too much mana ramp. I was thinking of either adding Empty the Warrens or an extraTendrils. What other cards would I take out for more consistency?

I run 4x Gemstone mine and 2-3 City of brass in my TES list, and they serve me quite well.

Ad Nauseum is like 50 cents, and has more raw power than pretty much anything else in the format.

Without any wishes or tutors (burning wish and infernal tutor, for reference), you can't get away with a one of wincon, either. So you want the full 4x Empty the Warrens in the mainboard, probably. Or get burning wish, and stick your warrens and tendrils in the sideboard (apart from a 1 tendril, and a couple warrens in the MB).

Honestly, you should strongly consider taking a look at some belcher decks. You don't have the cards that make Tendrils a reliable win condition.

I have some of the cards to make it viable but in the tournament that I play in many of the cards that make it viable I wouldn't be able to run the deck. Also for the Belcher deck I have the cards and once again some of the cards I wouldn't be able to use like Lion's Eye Diamond and Chrome Mox. If they weren't banned in the tournament I would totally run TES. I guess I could go Suicide Storm with Spoils of the Vault.
