Is it just me, or has activity been in a lull for most of the past week? I'm used to 120-130 different "wants", but now it's down closer to 85.

My guess is that people are saving up so they can pay inflated pre-release prices, but then again, I don't know. I don't remember this happening during Fate Reforged spoilers.

Well, I'm flying to Delaware to visit my girlfriend in five days, so I'm sure I'll get to experience some winter weather.

But here in Tucson, it's sunny and it's going to start getting really hot, really soon.

Isn't winter basically over at this point? I mean, there's like three weeks until the start of summer.

Way too strong. Ignoring all other text, we basically can say that this is strictly better than:

    Wall of Channelling 0
    Legendary Artifact
Pay 1 Life: Add 1 to your mana pool.

I think we can safely say that this is overpowered in all formats.

    How about something like...

    Choking Blast 1BRR

    Instant (U)
Choking Blast deals 4 damage to target creature. Each creature gets -1/-1 until end of turn.

These designs are scarily similar to my own enemy manland designs that I have made in the past. Like, REALLY similar. Can you read my mind? Smile

    No.

I could change Glacial Peaks to be:
1UR : Glacial Peaks becomes a 1/4 blue and red Elemental creature with "Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, Glacial Peaks gets +3/+0 until end of turn." I think we've seen this on Kiln Fiend and Nivix Cyclops, so it should work.

Regenerate on Ghastly Woods could go down to B/G mana if need be.

I could see 3/3 Lifelink on Suntouched Mire, but that seems very difficult to race effectively because of how strong lifelink is in a race.

My original idea for Scorched Steppe is 1/1 with Double Strike, but it seemed a bit strong. I want the R/W one to only cost 2 mana to activate, since those are predominantly the weenie rush colors and the land should reflect that. Similar to how green and blue tend to get the largest creatures, so Coral Grove is a 4/4.

I think the problem with higher end stuff is that Puca doesn't truly line up their points with TCG mid like they claim. I'm willing to let my SCMs if their value would match TCG mid.

What do you think they should be valued at (points wise?).

I also like the idea of offering a 'bounty' as suggested above!

Given the normal divide, I'd have the price on Snapcaster Mage closer to 4,750 than the 4,200 it is currently "valued" at, noting that TCG Mid is $45 and there are only a half-dozen under $40, most of which are not NM and the ones that are NM are only under $40 by a few cents each.

I mean, I have three extras, but 4,200 isn't enough to get me to offload them, especially knowing it's going to cost me $3.37 in postage to do so.

With enemy manlands and fastlands being two of the big wants with regard to future printings, I figured, what might the manlands look like? This is what I came up with. Any tweaking or modifications are appreciated.

    Scorched Steppe

    Land
Scorched Steppe enters the battlefield tapped
tap symbol : Add R or W to your mana pool
RW : Scorched Steppe becomes a 2/1 white and red Elemental creature with First Strike until end of turn. It's still a land.

    Suntouched Mire

    Land
Suntouched Mire enters the battlefield tapped
tap symbol : Add W or B to your mana pool.
2WB : Suntouched Mire becomes a 2/4 white and black Elemental creature with Lifelink until end of turn. It's still a land.

    Ghastly Woods

    Land
Ghastly Woods enters the battlefield tapped.
tap symbol : Add B or G to your mana pool.
1BG : Ghastly Woods becomes a 3/2 black and green Elemental creature with "BG: Regenerate Ghastly Woods" until end of turn. It's still a land.

    Coral Grove

    Land
Coral Grove enters the battlefield tapped.
tap symbol : Add G or U to your mana pool.
3GU : Coral Grove becomes a 4/4 blue and green Elemental creature with Hexproof until end of turn. It's still a land.

    Glacial Peaks

    Land
Glacial Peaks enters the battlefield tapped.
tap symbol : Add U or R to your mana pool.
1UR : Glacial Peaks becomes a 1/4 blue and red Elemental creature until end of turn. It's still a land.
Whenever Glacial Peaks deals combat damage to a player, draw a card.

Honestly, I had trouble with a good mechanic for Glacial Peaks. I wanted to go with a 2/1 with Prowess as it's the perfect mechanic for the two spell colors, but Prowess isn't an evergreen mechanic at present, so I went with a draw trigger, which is worded to prevent multiple activations from stacking as in the Raging Ravine mechanic. Maybe I should just allow multiple activations.

Was wavering on Regen / Deathtouch for Ghastly Woods and decided that Regen would potentially allow for more interesting mechanics in the later game. Maybe this is wrong.

I submit for feedback and constructive criticism.

I'm having some issues with a card I just received.

Guy commits to sending a card on the 20th.
Doesn't send the card until the 27th.
Card arrives today and is clearly not NM. It's SP at best, and close to SP-. I open a case saying that the card is not NM and I want a partial refund for condition. I'm not a stickler on condition, but I expect to pay an SP price for an SP card.

Guy flags for admin response and sends out a huge tirade that I'm a dishonest trader attempting to scam this innocent trader out of 60 cents (it's a 400 point card) and that he's never had an issue with condition and everything he sends is NM, refuses to pay my "extortion" and tells me that this site will only be successful as long as there are no "dishonest traders" such as myself trying to rip people, says that he wants me to pay out of my pocket to return the card to him, and that if he doesn't receive a NM copy, he's going to have the admins throw the book at me.

I've received Power and numerous Revised Duals without incident, and I've got 60,000+ points in my account and that many more in transit. Really, it's much easier to just accept the card and let him off, but given the confrontational attitude I've received after putting up with his week to ship the card out, I'm digging in and won't budge one penny on this.

Mods: I'd like permission to post this person's PT name to warn all members here to block and not do business with this individual.

EDIT: Calmed down a little bit now.

I guess I'm just frustrated and want to rant. I understand that mistakes happen, and I don't mind a nick or two - I've probably sent out cards that weren't strictly NM either because I missed something when I examined the card or it got a little worn in transit. Maybe it would be better just to drop it and accept it as the cost of PucaTrade, since it does look NM- on the front. I dunno. Venting frustration. </endrant>

This is the back of the card in question: http://imgur.com/aMuLiSM,U5UVQ7d#1
You can be the judge if I'm being reasonable asking for a few points back for this.

Good news is that PucaTrade is getting me exceedingly close to finishing my playset of Revised Duals - counting the ones in transit, I think I'm just five away (Bayou, Trop, Savannah, Scrubland, and Taiga) from my set of 40. I'm very happy about this.

I think the new changes (w/ the acceptance of less than NM/M), in the future, will make it much easier for some to send out their SP/MP cards, which in the end, will keep them out of your yard. The new changes will weed out the SP/MP cards. Heh, kinda just did a whole "garden" metaphor there. Impressive.

Actually, I'm interested in SP/MP cards, at an appropriate discount for the decreased condition. It's not receiving an SP card that I have issue with, it's receiving a card that has some wear and being expected to pay the NM price on it that I take offense to. I want to offload lots of SP/MP cards myself, and this is a fantastic development on this front all around for me.

I feel like PucaTrade really needs to make their value algorithm open source and available for audit. The algorithms consistently take several days to update in response to a price move (either up or down), and some cards have consistently high or consistently low point values compared with TCG Mid.

Now is pretty much the absolute worst time to get rid of them. You'd be playing into the mantra of "buy high, sell low" and giving in to fear and worry. They will start to go up slowly from here on, but they will be pretty low in price through the next few months, as they will still be opened in small amounts during DDF drafts. It's also approaching a bad time to get into dual lands, since they always spike this time of the year on account of US tax filing season, when people are getting refunds and MTG players are throwing those refunds into the reserved list.

Should read "If you do, instead that player puts the top X cards of his or her library on the bottom of that library in a random order, then draws a card". Should probably also be a rare due to the complexity of the effect.

    Suntouched Mire
    Land (R)

Suntouched Mire enters the battlefield tapped.
tap symbol : Add W or B to your mana pool.
2WB: Suntouched Mire becomes a 2/4 white and black Elemental creature with Lifelink until end of turn. It's still a land.

If I leave a page when I have text in the reply box, the browser page spits out a dialogue box asking me if I want to leave the page with unsaved changes. While this is a useful feature, I do find it annoying if I feel like saying something and later back out, which is a fair percentage of the time.

Is there any chance to make it an option to disable this "feature"?

    1) Fairly easy. I've not sent outside of USA and not had too much issue with finding traders.

    2) I don't commit to sending cards if they don't want enough stuff that I have. There's a 30 minute window to cancel trades after you've committed and sometimes, it gets used for just this reason.

    3) If you want foils, you'll have to pay. Being able to float points to another can be useful for sending less-than-NM and bounties as well.

    4) I have had some trouble getting foil Flusterstorms and a second foil Overgrown Tomb that I want. If you're looking for foil C/UC's or Standard, it's probably easier.

    1) Your draw for turn happens before any "At the beginning of your draw step..." effects trigger and go on the stack. You'll draw 1, then when the trigger resolves, draw again and then discard one.

    2) CMC is what is printed on the card, and is never modified by any external effects that modify what cost you actually pay. There are no cards that affect the CMC of a card away from the printed value.
However, this is treated as an additional cost. Effects that can reduce this cost, such as Convoke or Delve, can be used to pay for this additional cost.

I've found that a big profile notice that I am open to less than NM, coupled with having the points for the card so it shows up on people's "available trades" is what has helped me get seven dual lands committed in the last week and a half.

I don't think that NM duals move super fast, but played ones seem to move at a decent clip.
