There really isn't as much drama as you would like.
"Hey we are closing the site for X and Y reasons on such and such date."
"That sucks, can we try to save it in any way?"
"No, our minds are made up."
"Well crap. Ok, we are going to build a new site because we love what we were doing and the community that we built."
"Ok cool. Good luck with that."
"Oh hey someone is buying the site and it's remaining open."
"Ok, we are still continuing with what we started."
"Yeah we figured, good luck."
1. So thinning your deck of two basic lands and ramping ahead two mana is mediocre? Explain to me why Farhaven Elf and friends sees play then? Or did you mean a 6/6 trampler for 6 was mediocre?
Primeval is a combo piece if you want it to be. Urborg/Coffers into Exsanguinate. GG.
It's not really that big a deal because in a month my hair will grow out again, but still... Oh, and to add insult to injury, when I got there the computer was down and the receptionist couldn't locate my client card info (which btw, I never give a crap about anyway), so halfway through when the computer is back up she comes up to me to get me to spell my name again so she can find it. Then at the end, she brings me a new card and says "here's a new card so we can locate you when you spell your name correctly".
When you spell your name correctly.... Lady, I've been spelling it for over 30 years, you think maybe you messed up?
Personally, I'd run any number of the CIPT dual lands before I ran that.
Competitive EDH is something more akin to playing CoD online, where you use every tool and exploit to your advantage. Again, nothing on the line, but the bragging rights are what is driving you to win more than the overall fun of everyone else.
Does she live alone with her three cats? Cuz if so, run bro, run while you can.
I dunno, the guy knows his stuff. Pogs are eeeeeeeeevil!
(side note: A guy I played with lost his first MtG collection when his Bible-thumping parents threw it in the fireplace.)
My point was that everyone is quick to point at cards like DEN, Palinchron, Hermit Druid, etc. and it's very easy to see how these cards are enablers (hence where all the heated debates over them stem from), but Primeval Titan gets overlooked because "all he does is get lands". The fact that all those lands he fetched you is generally what does broken things, but since it's just land, people seem to forget that. This can be seen right here on this thread with everyone who is vocal against his ban. There are pretty much only two arguments, "the RC lacks consistancy and didn't properly state why they banned him", or "but he's not even broken, he just got me some lands".
This is true, but at the same time, when none of the decks are constructed, it is the ultimate environment for testing 'fair use'.
And this is a highlight? Must be a dull day. Of course, I get free pens all the time, so this isn't as cool. And I'm not talking cheap disposable ones, I'm talking the $7 all-weather space pens.
And how many of those wins were helped by the lands that PT fetched you? This is what people have a hard time accepting: he's not the win, he's the enabler.

Yeah, I was too lazy to delete a few lines of text.
'80's kids that watched too much Thundercats are all grown up now.
