  • posted a message on Printing: What Type of Paper to Use?
I'm new to alt art cards but I'd love to print out some tokens for use in some games with friends. How do these normally get printed out? Do they need to be printed on heavy duty cardstock for durability, or do people just print them on standard printer paper and put them over an existing card in a sleeve?

    Quote from Georg51
This is not to suggest that SCG coverage is that great either, because the commentators are often bland, insulting to non-SCG regulars, sometimes not familiar of the cards or decks, make bad jokes, and on Sunday Legacy they are almost ALWAYS hung over and you can tell by their lack of energy.

Maybe I haven't been watching them long enough, because their commentators always seem very knowledgeable to me. There's just enough banter to keep things interesting, IMO. I love Marshall, LSV, and Rich for WotC coverage, but I'll take great coverage and decent commentators over great commentators and terrible coverage quality.

Anyone know why SCG's coverage of events is always miles ahead of WotC's? Both were holding events last weekend and I couldn't watch more than a few minutes of WotC's due to the terrible camera quality, audio levels, etc. SCG seems to do everything right (great angles, good card discussion, constant information being provided). Anyone know why SCG can consistently produce a better product than a multi-million dollar corporation?

  • posted a message on Cards Exiled With Triad of Fates
    Two questions regarding this card:

    1. When a creature is exiled by Triad of Fates, does it still have a fate counter when it returns to the battlefield?

    2. If Triad of Fates exiles a creature in response to it tapping in combat, does the creature return tapped or untapped?

  • posted a message on Not Blocking an Enlarged Creature?
I'm unclear on how Enlarge works after using it a few times on Magic Online.

In my scenario, I have a Rumbling Baloth and a few other 2/2 creatures. I cast Enlarge on my Baloth and attack (Baloth only). My opponent has 4 untapped creatures that can block. However, he only assigned 2 of them to block the Baloth. Those untapped creatures could block, right?

  • posted a message on Hammerheim Deadeye, Mandatory Triggers?
Am I able to play a Hammerheim Deadeye if there are no flying creatures in play? The ability does not have a "may" clause in it, so do I have to keep it in my hand until a flying creature is present?

Tried that as well. I drag and it does create a yellow/white arrow wherever my finger is on the screen, but releasing it makes the arrow disappear. I have dragged it to the attacker, to my opponent, right/left, and even back to my avatar. Nothing works.

  • posted a message on Can't Block in Campaign?
Just started the campaign and I'm on level 2 of Innistrad. I keep losing because I can't get my creatures to block.

    Ex:

I play a Goblin Arsonist on my turn and pass. The AI attacks with a Shadowborn Apostle. The game prompts me to block but the only "buttons" on the left side of the screen are:

-Hourglass (to stop the timer...grayed out)
-Shield with Arrow (to declare no blockers)

If I tap on my creature, it un-highlights it and the shield icon is grayed out, meaning I can't do anything. If I tap on the creature again, the shield icon lights up, but all that does is declare that I'm not blocking. I have swiped my creature every direction on my screen and nothing triggers it to be a blocker. What am I missing?

  • posted a message on Druid's Deliverance in Combat
Just finished a match on MTGO and am confused by an interraction.

I played Madcap Skills on my Selesnya Sentry, making it a 6/2. During combat, my opponent blocked with his Dutiful Thrull and Tithe Drinker. During the 'Declare Blockers' step, i played Druid's Deliverance. As soon as i passed priority, the game went to the 'Combat Damage' step and had me assign the 6 damage. When i clicked "OK" it took out my opponent's 2 blockers AND my Sentry. How is that possible?

  • posted a message on Removing Blockers During Declare Blockers Step
I was watching one of the Limited Resources draft matches and i'm confused about one of the combat rounds.

Player A was attacking with Ruric Thar, the Unbowed and a Battering Krasis. During the 'Declare Blockers' step, his opponent declared his Thrashing Mossdog as a blocker against the Krasis. Player A then played an Augur Spree on the Mossdog. The Mossdog was instantly killed and the Krasis got his damage in.

It was my understanding that, once a creature is blocked, none of their damage will get through (even if the blocking creatures is exiled/killed/sacrificed/etc). Why did the Krasis get through if he was already blocked?

That intro was hilarious. It was nice to see most of the broadcast team involved as well. Nicely done!

  • posted a message on Cipher Onto Creature Cast With Cipher Card
I believe this happened at the DGM Pro Tour, but I wasn't sure as the effect happened so quickly, so i wanted to clarify.

If i cast Call of the Nightwing, can i let it resolve and then cipher the spell onto the newly created horror token?

  • posted a message on Experiment One: Regeneration and Combat Damage
    Scenario:

I attack with my Experiment One, which has 2 counters on it (attacking as a 3/3). My opponent double blocks it with a 1/1 and a 2/2. If I want to regenerate my EO, I have to declare it and remove its 2 counters, correct? How does that affect combat damage?

Am I able to have the EO deal 3 damage, then remove the counters and regenerate it, or do the counters come off first, and then I only have 1 point of damage to assign to the blockers?

    Playing against blue. Ugh. Grin

A buddy just built a mill deck and i had the joy of playing against it. So frustrating to sit there and waste cards due to mill and counterspells with basically no interaction between us as players.
