Rk Post visited our country like two weeks ago. At that meeting, my friends and I were playing in a EDH tournament. So I asked him to alter my commander.
Maybe the P/T box will actually indicate something else, like a starting divinity stat or something, I'd found it weird for gods to take a tragic slip, but who knows.
* Of the other two mechanics, one is a repeated mechanic brought back that strongly hits the flavor of Greek mythology;
* the second returning mechanic is a mechanic that the developers thought had potential but didn’t live up to it first time out - it has been mechanically retweaked and given a new name and flavor. This last mechanic is also tied to the gods * The set does something that's never done before except on another Future Sight card.
My guess...
First one.. Champion or Epic
And for the one that developers tought it had potential, I think is Gravestorm. I think this because they said that the set does something (a mechanic) that's never done befores on another future Sight Card. So the only mechanic I found that only appears in just one card is Gravestorm
for Attack and isn't blocked:
509.4g An ability that reads “Whenever [this creature] attacks and isn’t blocked, . . .” triggers if no
creatures are declared as blockers for that creature. It won’t trigger if the attacking creature is
blocked and then all its blockers are removed from combat.
for Attack:
508.2a Abilities that trigger on a creature attacking trigger only at the point the creature is declared
as an attacker. They will not trigger if a creature attacks and then that creature’s characteristics
change to match the ability’s trigger condition.
Example: A permanent has the ability “Whenever a green creature attacks, destroy that
creature at end of combat.” If a blue creature attacks and is later turned green, the
ability will not trigger.
About Kalia:
"9/22/2011 The creature card is already tapped and attacking as it's put onto the battlefield. Any abilities that trigger when a creature becomes tapped or when a creature attacks won't trigger for that card."
Same as with guiltfeeder it is not a traditional attacks trigger, just like the Eldrazi titans don't have traditional LTB.
The rules that apply to abilities that fire off a creature being declared as an attacker like Geist of Saint Traft do not apply to abilities of creatures that fire when they go unblocked.
Again regardless of how master of cruelties is in combat an not blocked it will fire off the ability.
Note the above rule does not state it only triggers if the creature was declared as an attacker.
oh thanks! that was the rule I was looking for, but i didn't found it. Now this is clear! Kalia works
This is incorrect, like guiltfeeder this guy only cares that he is in combat and attacking at the beginning of the declare blockers step and has not been blocked. It does not matter how he is put into combat he will trigger and reduce your opponents life to one.
There's nothing that says that you can check one part of the clause and not the other. Ok.. Master is attacking, but wasn't declare as an attacker.
Kalia's rule says that won't trigger any "attacks" or "tapped" triggers of any creature she puts into the battlefield.
"9/22/2011 The creature card is already tapped and attacking as it's put onto the battlefield. Any abilities that trigger when a creature becomes tapped or when a creature attacks won't trigger for that card."
this is a rule. Why we have to just check is it wasn't blocked? and don't check the attack clause?
No, it works. His ability triggers at the declare blockers step (see rulings on Ferrel's Zealot, Keeper of Tresserhorn, Orcish Squatters, etc). Kaalia's ability triggers at the declare attackers step, so he's good to go for the declare blockers step.
Nice job on the links, most would be too lazy :D. Are you absolutely positive here though? It seems like it might have an "if" clause as to whether or not it attacked. Similar to something like Test of Endurance that will not trigger if the requirement is not met, I feel like it might trigger at the blockers step, but retroactively check if it "attacked".
Can we get some more input here? Cause if it works then it's a shoe-in for my Kaalia deck cause it's just crazy. If it doesn't then it is lackluster at best.
No it won't trigger. When the rule says that it trigger at the end of blockers step, it means that the trigger will put on the stack at that time, but it will check previous information. the creature wasn't declare as an attacker.
Now this is what Kalia's rules say:
9/22/2011 The creature card is already tapped and attacking as it's put onto the battlefield. Any abilities that trigger when a creature becomes tapped or when a creature attacks won't trigger for that card.
Now... this card will see modern. Stops CAscade! For example (and i know this card is banned) if your opp plays Bloodbraid Elf, then you can response to the Cascade. So you counter the elf and your op won't be able to cast the 2nd card.
It can stops combos. For example, Second Sunrise combo where allways is using artifacts to draw and cast more artifacts.

This is the result.
Totally agree

WEll.. I've just spent like 1 hour reading all these pages and I saw something about Karm 2.0, but where is the img??? o_O
Hidden Strings is to lightning bolt as Hands of Binding is to Shock
both are commons too.. and both in the same block??? srsly?
I don't believe that.
This is pointless.
4/4 or 3/4 that mills until hit X lands where X is the damage dealt is worst than a 2/4 that will always mill until 4 when it hits.
They're in comprehensive rules
for Attack and isn't blocked:

This applies for the Attack trigger (508.2a)
There's a post where we talked about this

I hope you're right =(

Double Negative too..

Finally, I think is great for EDH
