Conspiracy is fully spoiled. Is this going to be available online? Not much interesting but this guy seems decent. Was uncommon in Dark Ascension.

    Wake Dancer 2B
    Creature
Morbid - When ~ ETB put a 2/2 zombie token into play.
    2/2

4 power for 3 mana is a good deal. Can trade with a Myr Enforcer or two weenies. Also hits the critical black mana cost of 3 cmc for Unearth. BFF's with Carrion Feeder.

Edit: After looking at all the new draft mechanics, I can't imagine that this will be played online. Oh well.

Yeah, it's still expensive, but maybe it could become another option in the TE toolbox. I think TE usually plays a longer grindier game than MBC, making a recursive 2-for-1 better. And in a pinch it can be discarded to TE for a cheaper creature. It's not going to revitalize the archetype or anything but it could see play.

Lumberjack is already legal online. Released in ME2.

Yeah, I don't see Nightstalker in MBC. Most of those decks are pretty top heavy already. Plus, edicts are primarily needed for fighting stuff like Hexproof and UR Fiend, where 5-mana is way too slow. Maybe in graveyard decks? I think they would love a repeatable kill spell. A copy or two might make it alongside Tortured Existence.

For the madness decks, I really hope they print some more instant speed discard outlets. Wild Mongrel is the only one I feel not terrible playing. Aquamoeba? No thanks. Given that it's an actual draft archetype, I'm hopeful.

Shadow Rift is another option for unblockability. It's main strength is that if your first threat gets killed, it can still help you dig for another one, whereas Distortion Strike and Dodge and dead until you find one. In terms of being cheap and letting you cast multiple spells, it still does that well, too.

Any thoughts on this variation? It was featured in an article on MTGOAcademy.

Looks like he cut Squadron Hawks for other sources of card advantage. Mainly Compulsive Research and Pit Keeper. It kind of makes sense. Hawks are good but partly because white has so few options in the CA department. So if you're in mono-white, it's hard to pass them up. But if you have access to all five colors, there should be better options. They're also much better if you can consistently beef them up and I'm not sure 2-3 Rancors is enough to do that. I've been playing them lately in a deck with 4x Bonesplitter, 4x Flayer Husk and they are quite good when each copy can become a 4/2.

He's also playing a snow-covered mana base for Skred. Kinda neat. I'm a fan of 1-mana instant speed removal.

Also Leafcrown Dryad with no other enchantment synergy in sight. Is that guy good enough? I have an open mind.

I saw that guy too, and decided Manic Vandal was better because I could Unearth him. What do you think? And are you talking about "$" price? Because I actually play paper Pauper, so all these cards are like 25 cents for me. I think it's messed up that some commons online are worth so much. It's insane, really.

I managed to play 5 games versus Mono-Black Control on Cockatrice. I beat him 3-2, and I'm pretty sure I have the upper hand against the deck. He was using Victim of Night, and most of my sac outlets are zombies, unfortunately for him, and the Skeleton regenerates. Even when I got slow starts or was screwed on mana, I still either had close games or won. Feeling really good about this deck, now! Dancing Banana

Yeah, cheapest Gorilla Shaman online is like 6.5 tix. I can see the Unearth synergy tipping the scales towards Vandal. He might just be straight up better anyway. Ingot Chewer is just another option if you're looking for something faster that still has a little bit of synergy with the deck.

I keep thinking that Sylvok Lifestaff can be a good card against MBC. The idea being that if you can keep your life total high enough, Grey Merchant and Corrupt get a lot worse. They're only good spells when they end the game or swing the MBC player from losing the race to winning the race. Lifestaff makes that much harder to do. It's also a decent sideboard option against burn and other ground based aggro.

Ingot Chewer is another option that is popular with sac outlets. It's more powerful in Tortured Existence decks where it can be recurred every turn but it would still make a good artifact kill+value spell in this deck. And it's way cheaper than Gorilla Shaman ;).

"Hate" is too strong a word in reference to enchanting fetch lands. Sometimes it is the right play, sometimes it isn't. Saying you hate it implies that it's never the right play. It's worth mentioning as an option because it's a line that most people won't even realize exists when they first pick up the deck.

I also don't think greedy is the right word for describing the deck. Greedy is a GW Slivers deck that plays 10 Forest and 10 Plains and crosses its fingers. This deck has 16 sources for non-green colors (not counting the basics). I more like the part where you say it gives up tempo in the initial turns to make more powerful plays in the mid-game. That seems more accurate.

That's kinda nit-picky stuff, though. Everything else looks really nice.

Could also run Bloodthrone Vampire in place of the Husk to bring down the curve, which isn't a bad idea.

Well, 14 removal spells is a lot. Maybe -1 Terminate, -1 Innocent Blood, -1 Perilous Myr, +3 Unearth.

Firebolt for Lightning Bolt seems reasonable. It would give you another thing to do with your mana in the late game. You don't necessarily need to kill every one of your opponent's creatures, though. You just need to buy enough time for your big sac outlets to end the game. Dunno. I think I'd actually have to play some games with the deck to make that decision.

That's hilarious. I thought I was the only person obsessed with making a deck for Kjeldoran Dead. I ended up in WB alongside stuff like Doomed Traveler, and Squadron Hawks. I also really wanted to make the mass discard package of Cry of Contrition and Tendrils of Despair work but that hasn't been going so well. It takes way too much setup and the timing has to be perfect. The best part of the deck has been the combo of Glint Hawk and Flayer Husk. Husk does so much work when you can sac the creature then bounce it with a bird. There's a lot of potential in that card.

Anyway, about your deck. I would cut the Torchrunners for two more Mogg War Marshals. You can never have too many bodies in a deck like this. Have you tried Tragic Slip. You've got ten free, instant speed sac outlets so it should always be on. About the only thing it doesn't kill compared to Terminate is Guardian of the Guildpact. I guess I just really like 1-mana removal spells.

I also think cycle lands are really greedy in anything but mono colored decks but that may be a personal thing. The way aggro decks win is by playing all of their spells on time, preferably more than one per turn. Tapped lands that don't fix colors make that more difficult.

It looks like a fun deck, though :).

Edit: Oh and UNEARTH! Gets all of your creatures back for 1-mana and can make some pretty busted turns with Mogg War Marshal. Untap, sac before paying echo, sac two tokens. Unearth. Sac three more guys. Attack with a 14/14 Husk. Yeah...

I guess when I said "finisher", I was thinking of something that ends the game in one or two turns. Tortured Existence is more of a card selection/advantage engine.

BG graveyard is very good at grinding out decks that are just trying to win by attacking with creatures. So in those cases you don't need to win the game quickly, you can just win through attrition. But as soon as the opponent starts to do things on an axis that you can't interact with (hexproof, lots of fliers, flinging Atog, Esper Sage mill, unblockable Cyclops, etc.) you're in trouble. If you can't interact, you have to kill your opponent before they kill you and BG decks generally kill their opponent's really slowly.

The most powerful thing that the deck does is gain 20 life from Gnaw to the Bone, which is really good against some of those strategies I just listed. But it would be better if you could turn that extra life into a way to win the game quickly.

Hello, i'm new to pauper and i wonder if a deck based on soul's sisters (Soul Warden Soul's Attendant) is competitive in this format. Has anyone tested this ?

The most popular Soul Sisters type deck is a GW tokens deck. Here's a thread that talks about it. They aren't used in a white weenie shell that often, though.

I don't like Fa'adiyah Seer. The deck already has a ton of two drops and the ones you are already playing get cards into the yard faster. Seer is too slow to do anything against aggro and controls decks (which it might be good against) have a million ways to deal with it.

Another card that's an interesting 1-of in these decks is Driver of the Dead, mainly because of its interaction with Pit Keeper. I didn't like it main deck when I tried it but it might help you grind out games against mono-black. I would also side in more Gnaw's against MBC. If you can keep your life total high enough the Gary's are way worse, and you can probably run them out of cards and win.

The problem I always had with decks like this is that it's easy for other decks to go over the top of you. There's tons of value here but no good ways to quickly end the game. You already mentioned trouble with mono-black but I imagine you'll have similar issues with tron, and even affinity with its combo kill (although casting Gnaw in response to an all-in Fling is one of the best things ever Smile ). The control decks in pauper not only have great card advantage but really powerful end games, which this deck doesn't have.

Not saying you should abandon it. Just saying that's the hump I could never get over with BG graveyard. Good luck!

With Humbler you get to give something everything trample.

I mean, I'm still not sure what deck wants the effect, but it at least hits your entire squad.

Part of me wants to do Abundant Growth/Nylea's Presence enchantress control, and maybe there's a way for that to be good, but all the common Constellation effects seem costed so as not to rip limited apart.

Yeah, I misread Humbler. Not sure it changes my opinion of the card, though. The most interesting thing about it is it's a giant creature you can run with Kruphix's Insight as a finisher. Not its ability.

Boros heroes looks like a fun deck. Twelve 1-drops is something landfall never had to work with. I would want to try stuff like Flame Jabbing my own guys :P. Maybe Bonds of Faith too.
