So, for context, i'm building a Naya deck, and saw this guy in my searches. I imaged she would be pretty fun, but apart from an ChannelFireball Article about how its the next stoneforge mystic (seems unlikely), I couldn't find much said about him. Has anyone had any luck running her.
She seems pretty good to grab things like Rancor and Darksteel Mutation, but I can't think of much else.
If you like that, try moonring isle. You know, if you have more blue permanents. I like this cycle, its neat.
Id recommend some alternatives to your cards to up the red permanent count, but at this point it seems like enabling. I just realised it doesnt work on your opponents, which is a shame. Soldier of fortune seems more fun, if its just to annoy people at EOT.
Im making a Roon of the Hidden Realm deck, that has a focus on control. The problem I'm having is that many effects I want to use at instant speed, such as Seht's Tiger. However, most blink I find is played at sorcery speed, or are slow blinks. The only exception I can think of is Nephalia Smuggler and Ghostly Flicker et al. I was wondering if there were any better ways to re-trigger etb effects at instant speed. One solution ive found is Gift of Immortality and Nim Deathmantle, but I need a sac outlet to use those effectively.
Thank you, this was bothering me. It seemed like everyone just forgot that card.
I could see Dragon Mantle being used in a Rhada, Heir to Keld deck as an outlet for the attacking mana.
However, i think the question here is not "how good is dragon mantle", because dragon mantle is a decent, finely costed card. The question here is "How good is firebreathing". The answer is a great big "meh". It can be alright on things with double strike or even first strike, but otherwise it doesn't do enough to convince me to dump my mana into it.
Kira, Great Glass Spinner: Double-edged sword. You get some nice protection, but you can't untap your creatures without first breaking that barrier. Im on the fence personally.
Odric, Master Tactician: Does more than just declare "no-blocks". Gets guys through and sets up unfavorable blocks. Might work well in a token situation. Also, 4cmc, because you probably needed more of those =).
Voidslime is the usual winner. However, Plasm Capture wins in a Maelstrom Wanderer list. With Wanderer, you have to be careful about the counters you run, because there's always a chance you'll cascade into them.
If you cascade into Voidslime, you've wasted your VS and one of your cascades. If you cascade into Plasm Capture, on the other hand, you can re-cast Wanderer next turn for :2mana:.
Of course, the best course of action is to go balls-deep and not play a wincon. Too many decks try chase the win, when the best feeling is having an answer to everything on the board when you need it. Im not saying play counterspell.dec, just see how long you can hold out when people are throwing their decks at you ( though hopefully not literally)

Also, separate your spells into enchantments, instants, artifacts and sorceries. It makes it a lot easier for people to critique, especially for Zur.
Whats everyone laughing about?
Druid's Repository: Attack with dudes, get mana. seems decent.

Also, what do you think about Geist-Honored Monk, Scion of Vitu-Ghazi, Emeria Angel, and Requiem Angel in the deck. Good bodies making evasive dudes.
Venser the Sojourner also works well with statis. +1 an island, mana dork, or manafact each turn to pay for stasis.
Well this is lame. Hey Dirk, whats your favourite colour?
Winter Orb Style Effects
Dropping one of these, then attacking to untap your lands seems quite good.
Stasis + Vigilance: Allows you to untap a land to pay for stasis's upkeep.
Lux Cannon/Magistrates Sceptre: Attack with Three Guys, Destroy a Permanent/Take and extra turn.
Any other ideas?
Ever consider Cryptic Command? The other modes are decent to cascade into.
Laboratory Manic lets you drag the game on, then win.
Barren Glory, Sac all your things, then win.

Alternatively, Knowledge Pool + Rule of Law, because why not?
