well if it wasn't already confirmed that I wouldn't be playing standard for the next year...
Its not even this card. Its just the blatant hate against blue-black that's really annoying me. It makes for such and uninspired standard when everything is hexproof, can't be countered, can't even be forced to sacrifice. Really sad design policy.
There is just no interactivity in the format. And generally, even if you manage to land the turn 4 verdict, you're pretty ****ed by then anyway. Assuming that they don't just make their **** indestructible anyway.
This card honestly isn't too bad, but it just annoys me that wizards isn't trying to fix whats broken. We have that thread in the Magic general forum that provides examples of wizards stating that black is too weak, and that it needs to be fixed. Printing cards like this is not a step in the right direction.
Oh hush. Creatures with this type of hate have existed since the colors became well established, if there being handful of these cards in standard makes you rage quit then you may just be bad at that type of deck. I know these guys are usually worthless against someone who plays U/B well, so whats up?
First off, there are plenty of artifacts to use with the forge secondly theres only 162 cards out of 249 which makes your entire first argument invalid, secondly duress has been reprinted in basically every core set since M10 so hows it that hard to believe
.....And where are these artifacts you speak of that make forge worth that CMC? The Sliver? Search light? "Snicker" Keys? Dude you are a mess, you are a mess and have no clue. It's ok though, I still loves ya, ya nut.
Only? slivers... ? You realize slivers are the ultimate tribe, and alone are enough reason to include mutavault. Simultaneously, it gives them a cool reprint that can help sell the set. You dont need more reasons than that.
Ultimate? Debateable. A good reason? Sure, why not. Reason enough? Not in my book. If it is, lets just start calling M14 "Premium Decks: Slivers", cause they are about the only exciting thing in it.
Soooo tribal is coming back in the greek block? I mean, why else have this? Innistrad is rotating out, RTR didnt really have "lords" and the only tribal like cards in M14 so far are either Slivers, flying creatures, or advocate of the beast. Seems to me like a waste unless tribal returns.
I like the cut of it's gem, and I hate white. Could see constructed play, I mean it's one of those cards that can be heavily exploited alongside pacify effects and reds "cant block" abilities. And with aggro being what it has been, this card can really shine In a good control deck.
after a turn 4 supreme veredict, this thing can be devastating, 7 damage bom!
May be in next sets we will see and enchantment that make lands indestructible.
You took the words outta my mouth.
Also, odd thought, could this card be a part of a 5 card cycle, I.E. Awaken the Beast, Depths, Fallen, etc. I've always loved land critters and land subtheme decks. And with the return of dual lands and Slivers, would be a groovy time to see a influx of "lands matter" type cards. Will be a shame if its the only land enchant, its an area in magic I wish would be explored more...heh, get it? Explore? Lands? .....I dont have to impress you ppl, shuddup!
I've been playing long enough to know what a sliver looks like and plays like. These abombinations don't fit any of those criteria. Also, MaRo could't talk about having slivers in all 5 colors. If 5 Color slivers are a given, and we know we get sliver(sort of...), why the secrecy?
I fully expect the made slivers 3 colored this time around for drafting purpouses.
Do you have to be told the sun will rise and set? Of course not, silly, it's understood. If the guys from Wizards have to tell you Slivers are in all 5 colors, when half the set is as of yet unknown, then you dont know Slivers very well.
But if you need some more logical talk, the core is for beginners. Dont want to over load them with 5 colors off the bat, do we? No! We want them to start with 3 then branch out (AKA buy more cards).
Don't grill me if I'm the 100th person to notice this, but 8 of the mythics that have been spoiled are new, meaning the other 7 will be reprints if they continue in the same way as they have since M10.
Problem is...I thought Chandra was supposed to be new in M14....but that would make at least 9 new mythics only leaving room for 6 reprints.
Any thoughts?
For all we know, this set may have an all new mythic set. Wizards is known to change up the game plan every so many years, and this year is the 20th anniversary. Would sure make me happy, reprinted mythics is like getting the same present for Christmas and your birthday.
No it isn't. If you look closely, the deck contains cards from magic's past (Armageddon, for instance) that are not in M14.
M14's slivers are Naya colors only.
Your logic, given that Slivers are always 5 color and in M14 there seems to be 3 slivers per color, is amazingly flawed.
Seriously, everyone saying they are Naya only needs to sit back, and think for a few minutes on how dumb you sound. Hell, Id go far enough to say watch out for a new mythic 5 color Sliver by sets end. If you expect any less, you havent been playing magic long.
Everyone evaluates sets before they come out. Yes, evaluations can change, but that doesn't make it wrong to evaluate cards in a set that hasn't come out yet. EVERYONE does that, what makes it wrong for him to do this.
.....The fact he doesnt know yet? Awesome name btw.
I never thought I "knew" anything. I was simply sharing an opinion. Maybe you should consider banning new players or starting a new forum for pros only if the opinions of relative newcomers so irritate you.
Whos irritated? I was just pointing out that you are judging a set you have yet to play with as bad before even seeing its impact on the formats. Good cards dont always seem good, and you may come to love something you consider meh.
This set and you could be friends, if you just let it into yur heart.

Do restraining orders fall under white? Believe so.

This is exactly why I hope it's a cycle; variety. Can't blade a swamp transformed into a black 7/7 zombie mass with intimidate.

Geesh, we get a hate spider and suddenly its an anti set.
