I would remove the Render Silent and replace them with Negate since having double blue and one white open is rough in the early game. Rapid Hybridization might be an option if Blood Baron sees much play in your area.
I went Orzhov splashing 3 forests for the Bow (also had a filter land and artifact bauble), and it was very doable. My deck seemed slightly insane since I had so much removal that some was in the sideboard. Gatecrash Orzhov is possible since my last match I came back to win when my opponent was at 42 (!!!!) life and I was at 1. Yeah, it was great. Once I get back from my next tourney I'll post my deck w/ report.
I like splitting the Sovereign and Pegasus since they are redundant in duplicates. I'm running the Heliod main since I know there will be a large amount of wraths in my meta, but it also shores up the aggro matchup since the first strike and vigilance play well together. I'm not sold on mutavaults yet simply because of the amount of double and triple white. I might add in 2, but not a full 4. I'm also tempted by Blind Obedience simply because of the life drain, but eh not sure about that one.
Maybeboard:
Pithing Needle
Rootborn Defenses
Smite
Celestial Flare
Rest in Piece
Path to Bravery
Heliod’s Spear
Renounce the Guilds
Sundering Growth
So R9 of #GPDetroit is the Worlds Finals that could have been - @wrapter vs. @shaharshenhar. I'm so glad I can watch video coverage of it. - Joe Spainer
Is there any way we as a community can rally together to ask for more modern GPs and make sure there is proper coverage? Maybe a petition on change.org or something?
From reading the twitter feed of #gpdetroit I think a petition is not going to be needed. There is a lot of anger being directed at WotC and some have already suggested more coverage for constructed GPs and less coverage for limited GPs (particularly if the TO is not able to pay for the streaming).
Also there are some high profile pros who have complained about the lack of coverage ala Kibler doing rogue video deck techs. Plus, teams that go to these events get to push their brand if they are on stream, so it does impact future attendance of non-streamed GPs.
There are a couple reasons I'm confused about the lack of coverage:
1) Theros comes out in less than 2 weeks, it would be prime coverage to build more buzz about the new set.
2) Isn't Modern something that WotC is supposedly pushing? If they are not willing to pay for video coverage for something they are supposedly pushing what message does that send? Modern is going to die the same way Extended did if WotC does not support the format.
3) From reading the twitter feed, it looks like even some of the pros had no idea there would be no video coverage.
4) Currently the GP is in round 3 and there is no updated coverage other than pairings, results, and standings.
Just really disappointed since I've been looking forward to this since Worlds since watching sealed (I don't mind draft) does not really interest me.
First, the current meta did run a little too fast due to the amount of aggro (ala if your opponent was running a lower curve you were not doing much damage in the duskmantle reveal plus drawing them a card). Also there were some problem creatures in the air:
Resto Angel was a problem since it was a flash blocker
Thundermaw owned the sky when it hit
Lingering Souls did not help
The reason it is seeing hype is that the format is going to slow down and scry evens out your draws and manages the damage you are taking.
He will be seeing play early, and depending on what control looks like, he'll be seeing play for the next year since that matchup will be really dependent on scry since a Seer deck and the control deck will be using that ability a great deal.
If you are not sold on running Daxos, you could replace him with Nightveil Specter and replace the planeswalker with the blue god, which would give you more deck manipulation.
Cheers!

Sick round 9 match.
