    Hey everyone,

With Firebrand Archer being like a 5th-8th Thermo-Alchemist I was wondering if there might be a fast mono-red budget deck out there.

    Here's what I'm starting with:

    Creatures (14)
    4 x Soul-Scar Mage
    4 x Firebrand Archer
    4 x Thermo-Alchemist
    2 x Bedlam Reveler

    Spells (26)
    4 x Shock
    4 x Incendiary Flow
    4 x Expedite
    4 x Renegade Tactics
    4 x Crash Through
    4 x Fiery Temper
2 x Collective Defiance (or maybe Open Fire or Lightning Axe)

    Lands (20)
    18 x Mountain
2 x Ramunap Ruins (Figured it won't hurt you most of the time, and can do just a little extra if you flood)

This was just kind of off-the top of my head. I'm sure a UR version of this would be better, but the options get a lot more complicated (though I'd be happy to see what might go in there and still keep things low to the ground, Slip Through Space, Stormchaser Mage, Negate)

Obviously it's completely vulnerable to sweepers but it's also budget mono-red.

Let me know what you think, any suggestions, etc.

    So here's the scenario.

I have two already tapped creatures. My opponent has two untapped creatures, then begins his attack phase and declares both creatures as attackers.

    Then I play Terrifying Presence:

"Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt by creatures other than target creature this turn."

Even though my creatures are not involved in combat, can I use one of my tapped creatures as that "target" creature? (Effectively blocking the damage from BOTH of his creatures.)

From a strict gametext sense, I think I should be able to because there is nothing in that card that specifies that the target creature must be involved in combat, only that non-target creatures have their combat damage prevented.

From an "idea" of the card, the feeling is that several creatures are about to do combat and the mere "presence" of one scary creature makes all the other creatures nervous and thus become ineffective warriors.

Please use card tags in future posts. The Forum Guidelines explain how to do that. -Carsten
