Feb 3, 2014C5r1a5z0y posted a message on Launch Giveaway!Tolarian Academy - it's the best card type, and it synergizes with the second best type to consistently produce more mana than any other land - in the best color to boot. Only downside is that it's banned/restricted everywhere, so I hardly get to play with it :-(Posted in: Announcements

I agree that Kaladesh isn't very promising for Type 4. Personally, I'm only looking at Noxious Gearhulk myself (@104 spoils), since I don't have tokens in my stack.

As for Ethereal Ambush, it's been pretty fun in my stack. It rarely hits 2 creatures, but sometimes when it does it's crazy. It compares favorably to the bottom 50% of flash creatures. It also has a really fun gameplay aspect that most other flash creatures lack.
For Conspiracy 2 spoilers, I'm excited to try out Expropriate, though it might be too powerful in my stack. Capital Punishment also seems like a strong wrath variant and I'm glad that Stunt Double is finally a card. And hopefully I can get 1 or 2 "you become the monarch" cards in my stack, as it sounds like an interesting mechanic for multiplayer.
Also a few more spoils now that should be auto includes, like Summary Dismissal, Fortune's Favor, Spell Queller, and Lashweed Lurker. Elder Deep-Fiend is also borderline playable, but probably just worse than Havenwood Wurm (which I don't even have in my stack).

Won't:
705 Scalding Tarn
662 Abrupt Decay
443 Thoughtseize
323 Snapcaster Mage
256 Rishadan Port
I'd probably look to add some utility lands, as they're a great way to add more actions in a turn. Also, I'm surprised you don't have either Leyline of Anticipation or Vedalken Orrery, as they really make things more interesting. If those cost too much, Alchemist's Refuge will at least let you pull some shenanigans once per cycle.
Finally, I've decided to include some Clue token cards in this update, even though I generally don't use tokens, since clues will usually just be cached in for cards immediately.

I also looked at Archangel Avacyn, as it's a very strong flash creature. However, I don't really want to deal with random people at a store pulling the card in and out of the sleeve when it transforms. Also, given the current price of Avacyn, I'm doubly not interested.
Rattlechains was also a consideration, but with only 4 other spirits in the stack, it doesn't really do enough; both as a creature and as an ability.
However, Type 4 doesn't have any formal rules committe or anything, so you're free to use any erratas you feel make it the most fun/balanced for your environment. I know there are plenty of Type 4 stacks out there that have all sorts of errata to get around the one spell per turn rule.

Ugin's Insight looks like it will be interesting too. It's conditional, but the fail case is fine. Bane of Bala Ged seems like a better Ulamog's Crusher.
Other than that, all the other stuff I'm interested wouldn't work in your high-power stack.
