As another set has come out, Ive been trying to refine my Trostani EDH deck. This is my favorite commander and I eventually want to foil the entire deck so I want to make sure its running very smoothly and is very refined before I make that jump. Recently, my friend has built a Derevi, Empyrial Tactician deck and I am finding that I cant keep up with it and is eventually causing me to lose. When I do sometimes get ahead he tends to have a Fog effect or Cyclonic Rift making some of my win conditions like Craterhoof Behemoth or Overwhelming Stampede useless. Cyclonic rift especially is super devastating considering most of my creatures are tokens and will just cease to exist. This deck does run very well against non-control based decks however so its absolutely not all bad. I know the mana curve is on the very high end but I usually end games with 20+ lands in play due to all the ramp. Im really just looking to refine the deck to make it constant and adaptable to as many different situations that I can. If you have any suggestions or would like to know why I am running a certain card please ask. Thanks ahead of time!!
An absolutely crazy combo would be using mind's dilation with bounce to the library effects like lashweed lurker to make an awesome round about way of taking all your opponent creatures. It wouldn't work with lashweed lurker specifically, but if you paired a similar effect that occurs when it enters the battlefield and deadeye navigator, things could get crazy. Cards like nevermaker. You could also use top deck manipulation to set miracle effects like vanishment or temporal mastery.
Also I feel like eldrazi should get a mention in here. Chaining 2 eldrazi together with top deck manipulation not to mention the fact that their CMC pretty much guarantees you could play any card in your deck for free is an insane value.
I'm so looking forward to this commander. She really looks alot of fun.

EDIT EDIT: I changed around some cards to better support Agent of Bolas and made room for Aetherflux Reservoir as another win condition. Anyone have any input??
So after running a combo based sharuum for a while (and getting tons of hate lol), I decided to make something a little different. I based this deck off of a bunch of others that I found on the net and this is what I came up with. Any improvements or suggestions would be awesome. Honestly Im just looking for some more win conditions that are not infinite combos, to refine the deck a bit, and maybe some more shenanigans with Sharuum the Hegemon or Enigma Sphinx and a blink effect like Conjurer's Closet. Ive also been looking at some of the new cards in Kaladesh like Aetherflux Reservoir and Panharmonicon that I am already preordering and looking to include. Those are some great adds especially the Metamorph! What would you take out for any of these cards though? Is there something Im too heavy on in this deck that I can cut a bit of???
Hey guys here is my Sharuum deck. My group is not a big fan of infinite combos so I kept only 2 or 3 in the deck and they are all 3+ card combos. My main win con is to use Magister Sphinx and win that way. If there are any changes I should make to this deck please let me know! Any and all suggestions are highly appreciated!
So I made a bunch of changes to the deck based on your suggestions. I think its in a much better place right now and I should be able to play test it today to be sure.
The only other cards I would like to add based on your suggestions would be Selesnya Cluestone and Perilous Forays but Im not sure what to scrap for them or if I even need them.
Any ideas?
On a side note, does anyone know where you can get custom cards done that aren't stupid expensive?
I have sharuum and I would absolutely love to run her but shes seems to be very hated among most of the people in my play group. I understand that her combos are really good and most decks just tutor them out and win and win ALOT. My question is simple; can we take a bit of the bite out of the kitty? Is there a viable way to build her that isnt all tutors and infinite combos? Some combos are okay but nothing that will flat out win the game. If you have any ideas please let me know!! Any example deck list would be super helpful!
This is my omanth deck that Ive put together. Im looking for some suggestions to make it better and more fun. My group is fine with shenanigans as long as they are fun and not infinites that just win the game. I like the deck as it is but I feel like I can make it do more with more synergies more win cons. If you have anything to input please let me know any advice is very appreciated! (Its not a budget deck but at the same time I dont want and 10+ dollar cards other than the ones in there.)
So I havent seen many examples of a deck like this so I was coming here for some advice. The main idea of the deck is to use the insane synergies with the elves to get ludicrous amounts of mana and spam out hydras and Eldrazis with most of the enchantments and spells being used for search, protection, and revival. I think this deck can be alot of fun but Im having trouble with creature balance (I havent even got to the other cards yet lol). This is what I have for my hydras and eldrazis so far:
When I get them Im going to take out 3 of the hydra cards (suggestions on which ones?) and replace them with the three main eldrazis (It that betrays, kozilek, and ulamog).
Next is the elves. I want them to run the deck for the most part. I need them to tap for land, search creatures, and search lands and if possible even be a draw source. These are what I have so far that Im looking into:
I need the elf dudes to run the game for me until I can get a big guy out to do some serious damage to the board. (potentially as fast as I can). I now the elves are stupid synergistic but alas Im bad at theory crafting although I really like this idea and I really want to make it work.
Finally most of this decks budget is going into the three big eldrazis so if we can keep the price tag on the low side that would be great. Any and all suggestions are welcome! Thanks so much!!!
Im probably going to use a proxy for serums until i get them but if anyone finds issue with that a set of telling time could work well enough for the time being.
Zealous is interesting i may run one as a replacement for the Hallowed spiritkeeper if he isnt legal either.
I could probably sideboard some midnight hauntings but they are the weakest of the three cost spirit generators so i left it out.
Wouldnt the vigilance of intangible virtue make it better than the honor of the pure. I have a set of both so I can swap them out. I cant tell which would be better in the long run since Im just trying to flood with tokens.

The idea of cutting a color has crossed my mind. I may invest a few bucks later to add some better dual lands but until then Ill probably just cut black and max out card limits on other stuff.
