We've been playing an EDH variant wherein your commander must be a rare, non-legendary creature. That's really the only difference from regular EDH, but it opens up a whole slew of new deckbuilding possibilities. My current favorite deck, featuring Phylactery Lich, has been tons of fun. I'm far too lazy to format it for this site, so heres a link:
The idea is pretty simple. Get lots of artifacts in play, just be sure to tutor up Conjurer's Closet and Minion Reflector, so you can get as many phylactery counters spread around as possible. Wipe the board with Pestilence Demon, Pestilence, Damnation, Worldslayer, Nevinyrral's Disk, since our Lich can ignore it, then swing.
Man the fedoras in this thread complaining about the female character designs are nuts. Do you run up to women at the beach and yell at them for wearing bikinis and exposing *gasp* their navel area, or for having breasts? Nissa doesn't wear clothes that cover her stomach, oh no! Do you have victorian standards of morality, or are you just complete prudes? Elves are a tribal society, maybe it's pretty hot in those jungles so she doesn't want to get too hot, or maybe that's just the fashion of her people. It's really bizarre that you are obsessed with her design when she's not even remotely "over sexualised", she merely has sexuality and that seems to offend you. Do you want all art to be genderless and boring?
It's not like there aren't male characters that wear tribal (read: exposing - by prudish anglo standards) clothing.
Ever heard of this guy?
Or this guy?
Or this guy?
See they're tribal too, like Nissa, and too don't cover up all of their bodies.
And you can't claim all female characters in magic are like Nissa and Liliana either:
All these women are drawn with female anatomy, breasts, hips, buttocks, but are not over-sexualised since that does not fit their character.
Liliana is very sexual, because she's a seductress. She's sort of like a succubus, she uses it to her advantage. It's a popular character archetype in fiction. Is there anything wrong with having a sexual character when there are plenty of other female characters that are totally different?
The argument that some of the men should have giant bulging pants is ridiculous, women aren't attracted to the male sex organ in the same way men are attracted to breasts anyway. They mostly focus on the face and general build of the male, and the personality is much more important. A well dressed guy in a suit is much more attractive to the opposite gender than a male stripper.
You're missing the point so hard its kind of sickening. I'm not going to bother arguing with you, but you're daft if you think its a matter of prudishness. Also your last paragraph is just oozing ignorance and you should probably shut up if you have no idea what you're talking about. But then, I don't know what else I'd expect from this god-forsaken collection of entitled man children of a forum.
I had a similar idea, and this is what I've come up with. Its still missing 5 or so cards, but it may help.
EDIT: It started out more Volrton-ish, but I added in lots of "When things die" effects to get maximum value out of her snakes, and now its more about waiting for the opportune time to pump Pharika up and wreck face. You'll never really be using your snakes on yourself unless you absolutely need it; the idea is to give them to opponents when you need a mutual threat destroyed, but still ensure that it benefits you more than anyone else. There are several ways to kill all of the snakes if they start working against you; various wraths, well-timed Doomwake, Massacre Wurm at any time, Engineered Plague. I tried a constellation deck with her and it just didn't work. You would be 100% better off just recurring your dead stuff than trading them for slightly better than average chump blockers and some sparse triggers that quickly become irrelevant once you have no cards left. I don't have Blood Artist or it's weaker alternative in because they generate lots of hate really fast.
