I am New to the forums but ive been using the site for years. My Names Zach ive been playing magic on and off for about 4 years now. I mostly play Legacy but i dabble in Modern and Limited. Ive recently started playing competitively. I recently took 12th in a Star City Game Open event with my own Black White Tokens Homebrew and to my suprise i found my deck in the devoloping forums. Its cool to see what you guys think of it and how you are changing and trying to improve it.
Hey guys. Im Zachary Keith. If you have any questions with the deck feel free to ask. Ive also made my own changes to the deck, that ive been play testing with. I have a changed the list a little from what i played at cinci and its been preforming even better. The number 1 problem with the deck is combo. So you have to have a heavy sideboard for combo.
The sideboard im not 100% sure about yet with the leylines. But it really helps against Mono red ,High Tide, and Charbelcher.
Few things ive done. I switched the inquisitions to cabal therapy and took 1 enlightened tutor and 1 jitte out of the main for 2 Thought Seize. I moved the
jitte to the side its to important to not have 2 of if need i cant tell you how many times it has won me games. Taking the enlighten tutor out was probably a good call because thinking back to the times i had it in hand i never really needed it. I also took out the Zealous Persecution because its just a win more card it really doesnt do anything but that. I brought it in 2 rounds against goblins never saw it and still won
Heres my matchups from SCG Cinci:
Goblinsx2 : Got Jitte online and won simple as that. Tokens keep pressure on just as well as the goblins. Sideboard i took humilitys out brought in Zealous.
BUG Delverx2 : I just put pressure on Resolved Humility Swung in hard with intangibles. Spell Pierce and envelop were played in both decks. All you have to do is play around it.
Miracles x2: Most Miracles players i can just beat. Either they have no idea what im doing or are unsure of what to counter.Sideboard wise i brought in disenchants and pithing needle. Round 8 vs Miracles Game 1 i won. Game 2 We went to turns i got Jaced on turn 2 of the 5 turn clock with 4 cards in hand and won the match.
Mono Blue Show and tell: Game 1 Double Humility in hand. Game 2 Baited 2 counterspells out with Inquisitions. Turn 2 enlightened tutor humility to hand sat with it in hand till like turn 12 he show and tells and i play humility and he just scoops.
B/R Delver: Crushed my dreams lol. I Made alot of misplays and i didnt sideboard properly giving him the win. Was my first time on camera nerves were goin and a lack of sleep like most players when attending Magic events.
Cool things to remember with this deck. BATTERSKULL is Amazing!
With Humility on board Batterskull becomes a 5/5 with Vig/Liflink. Not to mention Intangible buffs. Also That 0/0 Germ is always a 1/1. So if you move your batterskull over your token doesnt die.
If anyone has any questions or suggestions add me on Facebook
