Karn's head 5
Legendary Artifact
When Karn's head enters the battlefield and at the beginning of your precombat main phase, look at the top X cards of your library. You may reveal an artifact card from among them and put it into your hand.
Artifact spells you cast cost 2 less to cast.
(Melds with Karn's body) "I feel a strange connection to Urza right now." - Karn
Karn's Body 7
Legendary Artifact Creature - Golem
2: Copy target activated or triggered ability of an artifact you control. You may choose new targets for the copy.
Abilities of other artifacts you control cost 1 less to activate. This can't reduce the cost below 1 mana.
At the beginning of your post combat mainphase, if you control both Karn's head and Karn's body, exile them, then meld them into Karn, reborn "A perfect new toy to play with, wouldn't you agree, Jin?" - Elesh Norn
6/6
Karn, reborn
Legendary Planeswalker - Karn
+2 - Return target artifact card from your graveyard to your hand.
+2 - Target artifact you control becomes a creature with base power 5/5 in addition to its other types.
-4 - Look at the top 5 cards of your library. You may reveal any number of artifact cards from among them, and put those cards in your hand. Put the rest of the cards on the bottom of your library.
-12 - Target opponent loses life equal to the number of artifacts you control. Exile Karn, Reborn, all artifacts you control, and all permanents your opponents control
Starting Loyalty - 6
IIW: Choose an uncommon walker from WAR and turn them into a rare or mythic walker (static, plus, minus). I want at least one Kiora entry, since she's awesome.
Expanded Recruitment W
Enchantment
If one or more tokens would be created under your control, create that many plus one instead.
Or
Nature's flourishing G
Enchantment
If one or more tokens would be created under your control, create that many plus one instead.
(Basically, I think this card would fit easily under either umbrella.)
IIW: Choose an uncommon walker from WAR and turn them into a rare or mythic walker (static, plus, minus). I want at least one Kiora entry, since she's awesome.
Splitting Headache 2BB
Sorcery
Target opponent may discard up to three cards. For each card less than three they discard, they lose 2 life. The cure can be just as bad as the condition
Next:
Choose one or more of the following scenes from the Eragon series
A young man, looking harried, stabs a shade through the heart, his sword ablaze while shards of crystal fall around the pair.
A man wields a hammer and has just felled one of two bald men on a battlefield strewn with corpses, the other one's mouth twisted in a soundless scream. In the background, two swordsmen watch the scene, clearly pausing their duel to do so.
An ancient elf is controlling a young man as she guides him through crafting a beautiful, iridescent blue sword, the mood is full of good tension as they create a powerful tool to fight for good.
A man and his dragon partner are in awe as they enter a great vault, full of dragon eggs of all colors as well as the soul gems of hundreds of dragons.
If you've read Eragon and you want to choose your own scene instead, please do, but describe it so I can recall it as well.
Marwyn, pupil of Nissa 1GG
Legendary Creature - Elf Druid
As Marwyn, pupil of nissa enters the battlefield, Marwyn gains your choice of the following abilities:
Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, create a 1/1 green elf druid creature token with "T: add G"
Whenever you tap a land for mana, add G. Spend this mana only to cast creature or Planeswalker spells
1/3
IIW: Choose an uncommon walker from WAR and turn them into a rare or mythic walker (static, plus, minus). I want at least one Kiora entry, since she's awesome.
It's important to understand that clones do not target, simply choose who they want to copy. Once the clone is on the battlefield, it is indistinguishable from the original creature, aside from all the ways a clone says it's different (eg: sakashima the impostor) So the clone copies all parts of the (creature in question), including getting to choose a new player with Sewer nemesis (so the clone could target opponent A, while the original nemesis targets opponent B). After that, the clone is treated exactly as the new creature is treated, including getting buffs when more creatures enter the graveyard.
Garruk, claimed by curse 2BB
Legendary Planeswalker - Garruk
+1 - Untap two target Swamps
-1 - Create a 2/1 black wolf creature token with deathtouch
-4 - Creatures you control get +1/+1 and gain deathtouch until end of turn
3
The wolf is based on his + ability in garruk, the veil-cursed, but increase in power is from me thinking it might be weak as a -1.

Or pick a guild non-creature rare that's only one color from GRN (EG Mission Briefing), and make it the guild's other color (IE Black for Mission Briefing, or Quasiduplicate in Red.)
This list is technically an elves deck, but this is the list I run that just went 5-0 in Competitive Constructed, and it fits here. My last match was against Mono-Red, and it was super tense.
Force of Forgotten Pharaohs 1R
Creature - Spirit
Whenever Force of Forgotten Pharaoh's attacks, if you control a desert, or there is a desert card in your graveyard, it deals 2 damage to defending player
2/1
Next: Divine Visitation in green
Alternately, any guild legendary or walker in a guild from Ravnica Allegiance.
I guess I'll go with Gruul. Now, in the past, Gruul has liked post-combat, and it has liked during combat, but I'm gonna take a new approach, and give the Gruul a mechanic that they'll want to use pre-combat.
Bloodpaint - When target creature attacks this turn, X.
Examples:
Lightning Blood 2R
Sorcery
Lightning blood deals 3 damage to target player.
Bloodpaint - When target creature attacks this turn, it deals 2 damage to target creature defending player controls. "Why are you surprised the lightning hits two things? I have two hands!"
Shaman of Blood 3G
Creature - Elf Shaman
Bloodpaint - When Shaman of Blood enters the battlefield, choose target creature. When that creature attacks this turn, search your library for a basic land or gate card and put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle your library. "I follow the fighters, tending to the ground they trample as they expand our territory."
3/2
Clan Guildmage RG
Creature - Elf Wizard 2G, T: Bloodpaint - When target creature attacks this turn, it gets +2/+0 and gains trample until end of turn. 2R, T: Bloodpaint - When target creature attacks this turn, it deals 1 damage to each creature defending player controls.
2/2
Ruric Thar, Domri's Liege 4RG
Legendary Creature - Ogre Warrior
Ruric Thar can't be countered
When a creature spell you control becomes the target of a spell or ability an opponent controls, counter that spell or ability unless its controller pays 2. When they do, Ruric Thar deals 2 damage to that player.
Trample, Vigilance
Bloodpaint - At the beginning of combat on your turn, choose up to two other target creatures you control. When those creatures attack this turn, they get +2/+2 and gain trample until end of turn.
6/6
The naming convention is the same as the other Gruul keywords, IE they have Blood in the name, but these are usually better to use pre-combat, creating interesting board situations. I'm debating whether to make the Ruric thar triggered ability either all spells, or just creatures. I think just creatures is better, but that's a knob to tweak in development.
I didn't see a good thread that talked about this possibility, but I had a lot of fun playing with the UW Lifegain Nexus deck during the previous standard, and I was wondering where everyone thought it would go post rotation. Obviously, the deck lost its major win con in aetherflux reservoir, but I think it has a new one. I faced another version of the deck on Arena, after the rotation, that was running Patient Rebuilding as its wincon, but I think that the deck could see a shift into Jeskai now that our wonderful izzet twink is available for use. I just wish there was still a time twister variant in standard, memory did so much work in the previous version. Thoughts? I don't have a list put together completely, but probably very similar to the old one, with some copies of Ral, maybe a 1 of teferi... Let's get brewing!
