  • posted a message on Tarmogoyf or 3/4 two drop?
Would be insane in Standard but Goyf is better in Legacy/Modern.

I hope they also use this as a chance to print some previously not modern legal cards like the cards from Commander/Planechase.

  • posted a message on New Jace: CHA-CHING! - Why?
Its worth so much because people are afraid that every PW that comes out will be the next JTMS. So everyone panics and buys them for a lot more than they are worth on the off chance it shoots up to $100. This is especially true for this card because not only it is Jace, it also has some similarities with JTMS.

  • posted a message on WOTC pushing Modern as a format?
It seems to me that WotC wants Modern to replace Legacy as the go-to eternal format. They know unless they break the reversed list that Legacy is going to go hell eventually with very expensive decks. Modern gives them a chance a fresh start for a new eternal format that they can control more closely.

  • posted a message on [Charms] Which is the best?
I would say Izzet Charm by a very large margin. Spell Pierce, creature-only Shock, or Faithless Looting on one card at instant speed for 2 is amazing. It can counter an annoying Planeswalker or kill a flipped Delver or draw gas when you're flooded. The card is almost never dead.

  • posted a message on [[RTR]] Reprints (from daygl0's list)
It would be kind of cool if they reprinted Arrest as:

    Enchant creature

    Enchanted creature is detained.

    Quote from NGW
If I gave a damn about standard, sure. Only thing I'm looking forward to is price drops.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I've been waiting to sink some money into modern affinity once scars block rotates out. Hopefully Mox and Inkmoth won't be too expensive.

  • posted a message on Stategic Differences Between Magic And YuGiOh
One of the best things about yugioh imo is the lack of lands or similar cards. Although the lack of a resource system like this is one the biggest reasons why yugioh is broken, there are games of magic that come down to how many lands you draw or don't draw. I know mulliganing, proper deckbuildings, and good shuffling usually prevent this, it can still happen.

  • posted a message on Stategic Differences Between Magic And YuGiOh
One of the biggest differences between yugioh and magic is that yugioh has almost nothing that can be compared to magic's color system. This is the reason why Pot of Duality is played in almost any deck but Ponder is not. Yugioh at its core is a broken game since everything is virtually free to play, but it was one reason why I still love to play yugioh. Sometimes the totally broken Future Fusion hands in chaos dragon's can be really fun to play especially if your opponent manages to pull out a win. I've been playing yugioh since it debuted in North America and I don't see myself stopping even though magic is a much better game.

  • posted a message on Why didn't Liliana just get an Elixir of Immortality?
The favor text makes me think its kind of like the True Blood of the Magic world. Vampires can drink it in order to stay alive without having to drink blood.
