You have a few cards under Lands that should not be there, heh.
I think that Mana Clash does too little in EDH to actually consider. Also not a very big fan of Bogardan Hellkite, although I've never tried it with Jhoira... maybe it'll be more efficient there.
Few suggestions: Hive Mind: Great chaos card, I've always wanted to play Eternal Dominion along with it. Knowledge Pool: Also another chaotic card.
I added Hive Mind and cut the Mana Clash.
I am still trying to figure out if I need more defense or more win cons Im trying to get a good balance of Fun/Competitive
So I'm building my first EDH deck. My local group from my understanding is mostly about fun stuff and not MLD, infinite combos, etc. But occasionally there are some people who do things like that so I want to have ways to deal with/punish them for it. So Im mostly trying to find a good balance of causing chaos and doing the whole group hug donation theme but still giving myself a way to win. I'm also thinking there may be too much take an extra turn stuff. Also on somewhat of a budget dont really want to drop more than 15$ on a single card. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
What do you guys think of Sundering Titan in general? I mean he's pretty sweet and I see a lot of list play it but is it for a certain match up or what?
I think Relic needs to be atleast a 3 of Maindeck against Pod its just such a popular deck. I have questions on spellskite main as I feel Im just diluting my deck but its good against Twin, Random Infect combo and Burn so I have no idea whether to play it or not.
So this is a weird question to ask you Pod players but since Pod is likely to be THE deck this PTQ season. What decks give Pod a lot of trouble. How is the Tron match up? Merfolk? Storm? What deck is the worst for Pod? Any particular cards that really make Pod difficult to play. Say Turn 4 Sundering Titan is that back breaking?
How do you guys feel about going no pyroclasm? I've seen alot of lists do it lately and that seems insane to me. I think Tron is going to be solid this PTQ season do to all the Pod floating around but I have really played the deck much lately so here is the list Im thinking about going with.
They won't get to untap those 3 lands they used to cast Pestermite, which prevents them from untapping and playing Twin and winning. If they counter the Exhaustion, then they also aren't killing you (and since their counter of choice is Remand, you still get to Exhaustion them later). Then you're in a position to have mana available to Swan Song/Vapor Snag/Spell Pierce. I find that if you can prevent them from going turn 3 guy, turn 4 win, you have a significant increase in win percentage against Twin.
Obviously many cards can accomplish this task, however Exhaustion gives you game against UWR, Gifts, and Delver, which I have found to be fairly common on MTGO. They're tough matchups and this is a card that has applications for all of them. Oh, and it also works well against Scapeshift. If they have an early Cryptic Command and tap down your team, you can completely cripple them.
Basically, any deck that has their entire game plan revolving around Cryptic Command is affected.
But Twin usually waits until EoT on your turn 3 to flash in Exarch or Pestermite so how does Exhaust prevent them from doing that?
So what is the verdict on Cursecatcher? Ive been playing a lost similar to the Gap Richmond list that made top 16 with zero catchers 3 cavern of souls no coral helm 4 Images. No Kira (I think is maybe a mistake). I dont thinl I miss Cursecatcher as he never did much for me anyway as people just play around him. I don't see how he does anything useful vs affinity like someone mentioned. I think I'd just rather have those slots to play basically any other 2+ drops
So going to a large modern tournament soon, I am bringing merfolk it will be my first Tourney with the deck. I am playing the No Cursecatchers 4 image list from GP Richmond. My problem is I dont really know how to play against matchups like URW or Affinty or Bogles. Anyone got advice?
I'm joining team Merfolk. I've been playing Tron for awhile and I'm bored with it and needed another deck to build. I like the way this deck plays and unlike most aggro decks in Modern it has the ability to grind out games and almost become a tempo style deck. Im playing a list similar to the one from the GP that did really well. I also didn't like Cursecatcher but im interested in the other on drop Trickster. I managed to pitch the remainder of my standard collection for everything but 4 Mutavaults and 3 Images.
Im having tough games against Hatebears. They just play all the Land Destruction and its so hard for me to come up against. I stomp ever other deck in my local meta but Hatebears wreck me.
I added Hive Mind and cut the Mana Clash.
I am still trying to figure out if I need more defense or more win cons Im trying to get a good balance of Fun/Competitive

What about UWR and Boggles?
Yes they are.
Anyway go for a simple deck for now. RDW is great to learn and its also really good currently.
American Control/Tempo? I usually won this match up but its been awhile since I've played.
Affinity? Again played before but been awhile.
I have a big tournament coming up and I wanna get know how these match ups go.
